Kirk Cameron Details New Movie to Beck: ‘Deeply Concerned’ About Country’s Direction

Actor Kirk Cameron appeared this morning on Glenn Beck’s radio program, where he discussed his new documentary “Monumental,” which will air for one night only at theaters across America on March 27. In addition to discussing the film, Beck and Cameron spoke about Hollywood and its influence on society.

Beck started by asking about the film’s premise.

“I’ve got six children. Like you, I‘m deeply concerned about the direction our country’s headed and the world my kids are walking into,” Cameron explained. “While the news is filled with people who are blaming one another for the problems, I’m looking for a solution that will really work. And I figured, maybe…our forefathers would have something to say about what we’re doing wrong.”

Cameron went on to explain his efforts to re-trace the Pilgrims’ escape route out of England to Holland and, eventually, to America. Additionally, he promoted the need for both internal and external liberty in order to restore America to greatness.

“You’ve got to start internally with the heart and change the nature of people so that they begin to love the things that are truly good and right and beautiful in the eyes of God and then that permeates every aspect of your life and you begin building the country from the ground up and the inside out…,” he explained.

The actor also talked with Beck about Hollywood and the “machine” that seems to produce content that contradicts good and decent values.

My husband & I just saw MONUMENTAL tonight. People, go to http://www.demandthemovie.com and get it into your theaters, drag your family, church members and friends and neighbors. I knew little before seeing this film, I did know about the Geneva Bible of 1560. But we must get this movement up and going. Alveda King was also behind this project, which was so encouraging to see. All people were applauding inside the theater. Entire families were there, all ages. Hats off to Kirk Cameron, and thank you also to Glenn Beck, our Veterans and original Pilgrims and Forefathers for making these sacrifices. Monumental is going to attempt to inspire us back to where we began, it will play in other theaters, offer tours, course teachings, home study family reading plans, dvd’s, info and more. This is ONE candle in the darkness. Now is the time. Our forefathers did it before us with so much less. If we don’t see this, get involved and spread the word (freedomworks/monumental/gbtv) then we are shabby in comparison to these Pilgrims, and also giving up, waiting to be rescued, pointing the finger. This movie explains why our country is so wounded and dysfunctional, and how to get back, how to be worthy of having this freedom. See Monumental, go home, turn on the TV – it is happening again and we are letting it? Don’t let it all be for nothing, Americans – wake up, turn back to God and follow the original plan set up in the USA. This is it.

I have a real problem with this.

I heard about it first-thing this morning on Glenn’s show… thought to myself, “gonna go see it!” And I kept thinking to myself about how it was portrayed, primarily that our forefathers carved some monolithic structure with a message carved into it… a timeless message of sorts. Not being the patient sort, I scoured the internet until I found out what monument the movie was primarily about.

It’s called “National Monument to the Forefathers”.
And it was dedicated in 1889, having been started really only in the 1850s (though it was originally thought up in the 1820s).

So, how exactly did our forefathers erect this monument in order to convey an important message to us today when they were at their peak around 1776 and this thing wasn’t dedicated until 100 years later? Washington died in 1799. Hamilton in 1804. Franklin 1790. A few died as late as the 1820s.

This was first started in the 1850s.
How again is it a message from the men who died 30-50 years earlier?
I mean, they couldn’t exactly have been the ones who built it.

    Maybe I’m mistaken.
I hope so, because it looks like a great movie — but so far, it seems a bit of a sham.
    ???

The forefathers wouldn’t create a monument to themselves. This is from the next generation building a monument to the founders ideals. So following generation wouldn’t forget those ideals. Much like today, people distort the message of the previous generation which is how we end up here. Just look at how people keep changing Reagans ideals to the point where Obama feels conforatable saying he is like Reagan (puke).

Question to ponder: What happens when what we are intolerant of – is INTOLERANCE ??

It isn‘t KIRK’s words that are being used against him, it‘s KIRK using the LORD’s words – which the Left, the Apostate Church, and their GLAAD partners – in lock-step with Radical Islam – can’t stand !!

In his second letter to Timothy, Paul wrote in chapter 3 verse 16:

“ALL SCRIPTURE God-breathed and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”

Nowhere in any Biblical reference does it advocate the HATING of those who practice such homosexuality.

However, as Paul wrote to the Corinthians (who were Jews, by the way) in his second letter, chapter 5 verse 10:

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”

It’s that pesky ACCOUNTABILITY to the LORD that the HATERS just HATE!!!

It isn’t hate it is love, and the love he is showing is that he is willing to put his neck out there to stand up for what God has ordained is right and good for the good of the people. People need to wake up and he recognizes that he can help people see the truth. People who call standing up for Gods laws HATE are hypocritical, selfish and ironic to say the least. If you think what I said is hate then you need to re-evaluate what hate really means. Nothing is said in hate, but truth and love… always..

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. (Gen 6:5) Frowardness [is] in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.(Prov 6:4) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Prov 3:5) The above verses speak of ‘THE HEART“ and all of the verses refer to ”mans mind”. The challenge I have is with the understanding of “THE HEART” Kirk Cameran and Beck speak of, which is incorrect. The heart (physical pump) of man is just a muscle, there is no action the pump provides for man other than circulating blood. THE HEART of man which is corrupt is the MIND, our THOUGHTS, etc. As a society we need to move away from HOW WE FEEL, we need to change our “stinkin thinkin”. Societies thinkin is rotten to the core, just as God warned from the creation of man. We promote “Sin” and mock “Righteousness” We elevate “Sin” and deminish “Truth”. The “HEART” of man is corrupt, and selfish. We need to “TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THINE MIND”. The founding fathers ALLOWED AND EXPECTED Jesus Christ to SERVE THEM, and celebrated His service to the world. We have thrown Jesus out and with that lost His service to our country. Here is a good read: http://www.howieunveilsgodsshield.com/Blog.html?entry=we-must-allow-jesus-to

So, Kirk Cameron and Glenn Beck just didn’t take it far enough, or are you just determined to denigrate someone? Seriously, you think that they are talking about giving in to sinful feelings? What is the deal with this? Man is incapable of good, man is despicable, where does it end with Calvinists? Fine. What path are you advocating. These two are actually trying to accomplish something good. If you are only going to attack them, then who are you advocating following that will do a better job of this? I’m assuming that, had they prefaced their remarks with, “Man is evil” you would have been ok with this? Or are you just talking in circles? Or should we not be involved politically because it is a manmade construct and man is evil? What’s the plan?

No I wrote exactly what I wanted to write without denigrating anyone. I commend Kirk and Glenn, however, their undertone (feelings) is one of mans heart, as if to change the way we feel. My point is “feelings” have put us in this mess. We feel for gay rights, we feel for the adulturer, we feel. we feel we feel for everyone and yet everything is worse. We need to stop feeling for everyone and begin to stand on principle from the inward MIND of man. “As a man thinketh so is he”. We need to put the 10 commandments back into society and demand man live up to them. We put them back into our MIND, our BRAIN and focus on them, teach them, praise them, and hold society accountable to them. Everything is about feelings today, the only organ within the human body that regulates everything is the BRAIN, the mind (heart) of man. We need to change our stinkin thinkin and turn back towards God. The founding fathers put Christ first, our society is putting “feelings” first.

We are not a theocracy, we are not governed by a collection of myth and legends. Our rights do not come from some mystical divine, nor those our morality. We have a brain, we can think and reason, tha tis the source of our rights and morality. Its Lockes’s social contract that detemines rights, not ancient supersitions (especially sinc ethe bible doesn’t mention any of the rights. Show me the freedom of religion in the Bible or the Right of a women to speak her mind, without fear of being stoned).

Freedom of Religion is all throughout the Bible. Religion is governed by rules and regulations. The teachings of Christ were against a religious system because we were born free. “And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was [free] born” (Acts 22:28) The teachings of God are all about being free, not burdened down by mans laws but freed by Gods Laws, the ten commandments. “Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I [am] the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments. (Exodus 6:6) The 10 Commandments are liberating, freely given by God, non-judgemental, and perfect.
      Thou shalt not kill
      Thou shalt not steal
      Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt not bare false witness against thy neighbor

      WOW! talk about free..
If the world followed just the above Commandments you would completely decrease all of mans basic immoralities, stealing, lying, cheating, fornication. Please how can one truly believe their is no divine intervention, there is no God, everything about God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is about freedom and liberty, We are freed from sin and death thru the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus Christ. If we only believe and that can only happen in the MIND!!!!

ENCINOM….When God created you and gave you life, He also gave you free will. You can choose to obey the 1st commandment or not. It is your free will. It is your choice. You have freedom of religion. But, please know this, there will be judgement and every knee will bow. You have your freedoms you so desire in your life. But while you enjoy these freedoms God gave you, remember you will have to give account to God. The sad thing is, you don’t have to believe in God if you choose not to. The day will come when you are face to face with Him and then you will wish you chose a different path, but it will be too late. God put it in your heart to search Him and to know Him. He shows Himself to you everyday in His creation. You have to make a choice. He is not hiding Himself from you, you are choosing not to believe. And on that day when you are face to face with Him, you will be held accountable for your choice and you will not have a defense lawyer speaking for you saying, “my client didn’t know you were real.” You know already in your heart He is real. Please, make the right choice.

“The actor also talked with Beck about Hollywood and the “machine” that seems to produce content that contradicts good and decent values.”

Hollywood movie firms are going to produce movies that sell the most tickets and therefore make the most money. If the movies are being made, it‘s because they think it’s what most people want to see (and if they keep being made that way, it’s because it IS what most people want to see). And the fact that the usual lefty suspects called him names every bit as vile as those reserved for the less-respectful conservative commentators speaks volumes about them. That penalty for sin for someone who rejects God and His Son is everlasting torment. Out of love, Kirk doesn’t want to see anyone suffer this judgement. If you are having trouble figuring what is love and what is hate, do yourself a favor. Go watch the interview with Piers Morgan where Kirk talks about homosexuality and then do a google search on the Westboro Baptist church and read their website and their signs they carry while they are protesting our servicemen and womens funerals. There is a very clear distinction between the two. Kirk is anything but a “hater”. I pray that God blesses him while he lovingly spreads the Gospel to this lost world.
