Florida Pastor Terry Jones is already under the gun to pull off a Friday protest in the Muslim-heavy city of Dearborn, MI. But now, rather than being under the gun, he’s firing his.
According to reports, Jones’s handgun accidentally fired after leaving the set of a local news station where he was taping a debate with a local Imam:
WJBK-TV reports:
Controversial Pastor Terry Jones made a name for himself after burning a Koran to protest radical Islam. On Thursday, Jones fired bullet into the floorboard of his car.
It happened in the parking lot at FOX 2 just moments after he appeared on live TV with Huel Perkins on the “Let it Rip’ show.
Southfield Police say the gun accidentally discharged. No one was hurt. No Charges were filed. Police gave the gun back to Jones and sent him on his way.
Jones’s protest in front of the largest mosque in America is at risk of not happening. Prosecutors in the city are charging Jones with planning to disturb the peace and “ethnic intimidation.” A judge on Thursday told Jones to pay either pay a $100,000 “peace bond” to pay for the extra security required for the event, or go to trial to determine if he’s guilty of the charges.
In response to the roadblock, Jones compared himself to Martin Luther King, Jr:

Jones chose the trial, which is slated for Friday morning.

First armed when preaching pastor since the civil war.
Seems the first amendment is getting quite a work out lately.
Dearborn Michigan has a horrid reputation for passing aside Americas law in favor of muslem laws, I wouldn’t visit there for any amount of money. it’s the headquarters for Sharia in America and the local authorities are too intimidated by the jihadists to go against the will of Islamic fundamentalism.

I like to apply the “other foot” test. If a radical Muslim group wished to peacefully assemble in front of the large Catholic church right next door, would it be allowed? Absolutely! Would there be half the consternation? Absolutely not!

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 3:45pmRose Ellen, I live here in the area of the Islamic Center in Dearborn, where the protest is to take place. If you believe Muslims are “marginalized” HERE, you are sadly mistaken. This is the largest Muslim population center outside the middle east. The Intenational Islamic Center is, in fact, the largest mosque in the world.
Also, this is not the first time the city fathers have sought to remove the first ammendment rights of voices opposed to Islamic orthidoxy. Google “dearborn christian protest” and read the litanny.
When I refe top the “large Catholic church next door”, I do not make an allegorical reference, for the mosque is indeed next door, as well as a Greek Orthidox church and a large Baptist church as well.
I know of what I speak!

Accidental discharges are extremely rare, nearly miraculous events. The term Negligent Discharge is much more apt. Now, was I discussing Pastor Jones and his handgun or his paternal ancestor and the miracle of the Pastor’s conecption? I forget, you decide.

It should read he accidentally discharged his weapon because he is a numbnutt and placed his finger on the trigger and pulled it. But the media‘s story wouldn’t work if they didn‘t make it sound like the gun did it all on it’s own. Because we all know guns are evil and have minds of their own and, the ability to make themselves work without human intervention. Don’t they say guns kill people all the time? It’s just subliminal anti-gun reporting thrown into the story. Blame the gun not the person. God save us from all the idiots. Please?

Some counter protesters turned on the police, throwing rocks, bottles and spitting. KKK is scum but they were not denied their right to assemble, demonstrate and the city had to provide for their safety via $$$ & crowd control. One church has the right to protest at military funeral, but this church does not have the right to peacefully protest at a mosque? WTF? We can protest against anyone, anytime as long as the target is not a Muslim. The MSM will crucify you if you burn a Koran, but you can burn a US flag or a bible.
