Kylie Bisutti Quits Victoria’s Secret Lingerie Modeling Career…Because of Her Christian Faith

Kylie Bisutti Quits Modeling With Victorias Secret, Cites Christian FaithWhen Kylie Bisutti won the Victoria’s Secret Model Search in 2009, she was elated. Considering her initial excitement, some may be scratching their heads to hear that the model, now 21, has decided to turn her back on the profession that once brought her such immense fulfillment. She’s citing her Christian beliefs as the reason for her departure.

“Victoria’s Secret was my absolutely biggest goal in life, and it was all I ever wanted career-wise,” she explained. “But the more I was modeling lingerie, and lingerie isn’t clothing, I just started becoming more uncomfortable with it because of my faith.”

Initially, posing in sexy lingerie wasn’t a major problem for her. But after two years of posing in provocative garb, she began to feel more compelled than ever to change course. Additionally, she maintains that her husband should be the only individual to see her body so openly (Bisutti married right before beating out 10,000 other contestants in the well-publicized model search).

“My body should only be for my husband and it’s just a sacred thing,” she continued, reaffirming her belief that modeling lingerie isn’t morally sound. “I didn’t really want to be that kind of role model for younger girls because I had a lot of younger Christian girls that were looking up to me and then thinking that it was okay for them to walk around and show their bodies in lingerie to guys.”

Kylie Bisutti Quits Modeling With Victorias Secret, Cites Christian Faith

Bisutti went on to say that she hopes to be a better role model for young people. Rather than being someone who “dresses inappropriately,” she says she wants to be someone that young girls can look up to. For Biscutti, following her moral compass is more important than the fame and attention she‘d receive by continuing her Victoria’s Secret career.

“It was pretty crazy because I finally achieved my biggest dream, the dream that I always wanted, but when I finally got it, it wasn’t all that I thought it would be,” she explained, going on to reaffirm her change in priorities. “Especially being married I just wanted to keep my marriage sacred because divorce rates now in America are pretty high, and I just want to do everything I can to keep my marriage special.”

While she‘s putting Victoria’s Secret behind her, Bisutti will still be continuing her modeling career. She‘s currently working on a CW show and recently appeared in a commercial for Kohl’s. From the sound of it, success will be ahead.

@MIDWESTHIPPIE – The Christian faith is one of GROWTH and CHANGE over time. No one accepts Christ today and becomes a perfect role-model tomorrow, dropping all of their vices and issues overnight! As we live, we grow, and learn and the Spirit of God convicts us of our sins and issues. This is a LIFELONG PROCESS! Any Christian who is not growing has serious issues.

You should be able to look at your life and know that your walk with Christ is closer today than it was last year, and this young woman can do just that. Kudos to her!

Such a stunning revelation. It’s called respect, honor, and decency. In one selfless act she honored God, herself, and her husband. We need more honorable people with the courage to stand. God knows evil is just waiting to mock her and ridicule her for her “Christian” beliefs.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Well, God Bless Her! There are more important things, like being a role model to the young girls in America. Lord knows, they don’t have many role models to show them right from wrong. That’s why I love Tim Tebow, because he’s unashamed to show God in his life.

I’m so ashamed now about all the schools allowing their school dances to practice freaking. If you don’t know what it is, go to your school’s dance and watch the idiots acting like dogs in heat with absolutely no shame. A local policeman told about attending a high school dance and he was shocked at what the kids did with no sense of shame or guilt for exhibiting such behavior. One girl actually bent over and grabbed her ankles while her partner……………. Disgusting. You parents, get your lazy butts to school and observe and stop this idiocy. Shame on you for allowing this~

HIPPIE- Here’s how it works( I know you won’t understand it, but I pray some day you will). When a person finds God in his life he naturally wants to draw closer. He knows he‘s on to something that’s incredibly good. God senses this hunger and draws this person nearer Him. But, the closer we get to God the more uncomfortable we are around ungodly things. Things that people who don’t know God consider “normal”. The bible asks, what fellowship has light with darkness? It’s the reverse of the prostitute in the church analogy. I’m praying for you HIPPIE.

Midwest, you can only take her at her word.
Instead you chose to take the cynical route?
I would tend to believe she has had a change of heart rather than playing the “Christian” card as you say.
Just the fact that she believes her body should be seen by only her husband and that she wants to be a positive role model tells me it’s legit. It’s easy to go after your dreams, not really thinking of the consequences until you get there and then realizing things about yourself. A lot of people experience that.

      @Hippie:

I’d really like to know where non-believers of Christ got the idea that Christians think they live in sinless perfection…

      Romans:
3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
      1John:
1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

Or is it just a conclusion that you and all other anti-Christs came to on your own, based on your perception/interpretation of Christian behavior?
      1John:
2:22 “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.”

      Too much morality?
      1Timothy
4:1-2 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron”

Mmm. Love the smell of deep-fried principle.

I love the Protestant ethic of never forgiving a sinner. This young woman believed she followed a dream that she wanted only to find out that her faith was stronger. She recanted her career choice and sought Jesus. I guess turning to Jesus and away from sin is just not enough for Protestants. Self-righteous asshats.

Have you never done something, then realized later that it wasn’t what you thought it would/should be? Christian parents are not perfect and we are raising girls in a world with conflicting messages. It’s easy for them to follow us when they are young, but as they get older, our influence wanes and friends/outsiders become the prime influencers. As they mature, they need to find out what they really believe on their own. Sometimes that means going against what they were taught. It’s a learning process.
Bless her! As a mother of three girls I am thankful!

To those who think the woman is fake…A person’s faith comes gradually on her. It starts small and becomes larger as time and prayer and devotions go on. You are what you read and who you associate with and what you do and what you think about. It becomes you. She is trying to become something different than what she was. Let her.

If she did truly change based on her faith, good for her. I’m cynical that that was it (why would she need to announce it publicly instead of just retiring modestly or picking up some non-Victoria’s Secret modeling gigs?), but hey, it could happen. If I was to play the “what other reasons could she have” thought out, though…

      1. Her husband could have been pressuring her.
      2. She thinks she can make more money by pushing a moral image and getting sponsored by Christian groups.
      3. She’s going to start a family and wanted a good platform to make her comeback as a non-underwear model after delivering. Stretch marks and extra weight don’t help sell underwear.

But as said, maybe it’s just a change of attitude. I don’t see modeling as anything intrinsically “immoral,” but I’m sure others might.

Maybe you should ask all the wonderful, nurturing aspects of modern society that influenced her as she was growing up as to why she chose underwear instead of clothing. Speaking from experience, as a child, I tried accepting Jesus. It didn’t make sense to me. Being a little older, and doing my diligent search, I understand what it means to be saved now. I can understand her dilemma, while not identical to my own experience, it is still similar. God won’t let you see until He wants you to see.

I understand, Hippie. I reserve name-calling for those that truly deserve it. However, you can’t blame Christians for feeling joy at the mention of someone else turning TO God, instead of away, which seems to happen more and more frequently these days. Look at all the people that post here, that claim to have been a Christian and have since ‘fallen away’. Having a personal relationship with Christ never goes away unless you turn your back on it. Christ never turns his back on people that love Him and diligently seek Him.

may God have a hand on your marriage. I pray for you. Rom 8:28. Wow that‘s a great verse and I’ll have to keep that one. I just pray that she remembers Eph 5:22-24 with the understanding that her husband has a really HUGE responsibility to honor her for that decision and to follow through with Eph 5:25-33. Women groan at church when they hear the first part. Many today don’t understand the responsibility men have with the second part. If we could get our children back to church and really learning something and just not checking confirmation off the list like t-ball, soccer, ballet, etc. this country could turn around.

      @Code:
I agree with, and try to adhere as much as possible to the biblical role of wives in the NT. My husband and I have only been married for 3 years, but we both have love for Christ first and foremost, and that drives the rest of our marriage. We are very happy, and every day together is truly the Lord’s blessing. My husband doesn’t demand that behavior, for all you femi-nazi-trolls out there. We’re not all like you.

My first thought when I’ve seen photos or video of some of this lingerie is, what kind of woman would wear this? Quickly followed by my second thought, and how do I contact them?
    Oww, just joking dear.

My husband and I have wrestled over the VS catalog when it comes in the mail. He always says “look it has my name on it” because our VS account is in his name.

      Jackie >

Took years to find the right lady
      She’s very attractive, as well

      3monkeys >

      Funny stuff …
No possible way there’s wrestling over my VS catalogs when they arrive
      Wife orders too swiftly

Heartfelt story about the past for this 2/14/12
Had an aunt who was very attractive and married to the same guy since her 20’s
She passed after him, and never remarried
A few family members packed her belongings to donate to charity
Found an old steamer trunk in a wardrobe containing all sorts of neatly folded, handmade fancy lingerie wrapped in silk and wrapping tissue along with hundreds of love letters from her one and only man

It was that “ conscience thing”, you know, that whisper in your soul that is really the voice of God, that this young lady listened to.

God bless her and her husband. I wish them a long, happy and God filled marriage.

reposted for twitter link: Lingerie has long been a temptation and a fetish of countless boys to men. I speak from personal experience. Modesty is a christian virtue in men and women who understand the power of the nude or near nude form, and the sanctity of marriage and family before the Almighty.

Kudos to Kylie. We are now beginning to understand that young people learn discretion later than we think or think they should. Kudos for someone (ANYONE) courageous enough to change for her (HIS) own blessing and betterment even if she must swim against the tide of public sensuality so egregiously prevalent today.
