Politcal Gaga: Pop Star Begs for Repeal of DADT in Tweets, New Vid

Lady Gaga, the Madonna-esque pop star known more for her crazy outfits than her political views, is courting one politician this week while calling out a group of others. What’s got the “fame monster” so politically charged? She‘s on a campaign to repeal the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. And she released a video today to prove it.

It started earlier this week with some morning tweeting between Gaga and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid:

Politcal Gaga: Pop Star Begs for Repeal of DADT in Tweets, New Vid

Reid responded a few hours later:

Politcal Gaga: Pop Star Begs for Repeal of DADT in Tweets, New Vid

Yesterday, Gaga went after Sen. John McCain:

Politcal Gaga: Pop Star Begs for Repeal of DADT in Tweets, New Vid

But today, she gave up tweeting and instead chose a more conventional medium to call out Sens. McCain, McConnell, Inhofe, and Sessions (and made it obvious she was using cue cards):

McCains response?

“I‘m glad she’s paying attention,” McCain told KFYI Phoenix, according to The Hill. “I hope she’ll continue to pay attention, and to watch the debates on the Senate floor, and understand that this is a pure political ploy on the part of [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid and Democrats who see their majority slipping away.”

“They’re politicizing national security. People like Lady Gaga need to understand that the military is a unique institution,” he added.

Keeping with the theme of the week, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand responded to an apparent Gaga phone call (not shown in the video) via Twitter:

Politcal Gaga: Pop Star Begs for Repeal of DADT in Tweets, New Vid

No word — or tweets — yet on if the two have spoken.

“…This is the second publicly known case of a gay soldier killed in action during the current wars in the Middle East. The first was U.S. Army Major Alan Rogers, who died while on patrol in Iraq in January, 2008. Statisticians have estimated that more than 200 gay and lesbian service members have perished since the onset of the conflict.”

Another elitist, just because of Lady Bla Bla’s stardom she thinks her voice should be louder than everyone else. What a lot of people fail to understand is that DADT is about nothing but destroying our military. Young men mainly between the ages of 18-24 years of age enlist. And what are their friends going to say – “You are going to be sleeping with gay men.” This is all about forcing peer pressure on the men who might or might not enlist in our military. The Liberals have always hated our military, it’s who they are and its what they do. Look at what Harry Reid said – “This war is lost!” What a great way to demoralize the troops. And so is DADT. Poor little Lady Bla Bla, not a clue in that little head of hers.

Just a little info which a lot of people don’t know. Lady Gaga donated 1/2million us dollars cash to Haiti after the earthquakes. Lady Gaga and Cindi Lauper have a lipstick company, and they have already donated over 160 million us dollars for aids research and prevention. Those figures are right. Half a million bucks to haiti, 160million bucks for aids research and prevention. Maybe she isn’t a saint, and maybe you don’t agree with her politics, but she has done some admirable things. If more people helped others like this, the world truly would be a better place.

Back on topic. It is laudatory that both of these ladies donated to charity, and for that I applaud them. Now tell me how on earth that relates to their expertise on military affairs? Neither has ever served a day in uniform, let alone in a combat unit at the ass end of the world where mean people shoot at you and your friends are sometimes wounded or die. They haven’t got a clue. And, very frankly, neither does anyone else hetro, homosexual or otherwise, who has not been there. There is a world of difference between enlisting in the military, living in a nice dormitory on a stateside military base, working an 8 hour day, and turning a wrench or working an office computer and living body armor in a hole in the ground in miserable weather, not taking a shower for 3 months, and having to be alert 24/7 because people are trying to kill you.

It still angers me when people who have made their fortunes on blind luck and have no education or normal experience in life will use the fame that they’ve stumbled upon to try to advance a political agenda. Sadly enough there are many Americans who will let this sway their vote. Whether DADT is good or bad is another topic altogether. People can decide on that for themselves, but this is the type of “authority figure” that, unfortunately, the young people of America will listen to.

What else I like about Stefani is she went out on her own, made her way, worked hard and today, she is filthy rich. She is not a welfare rat, she is a hard working American.

Or that “Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell” was, in fact, a LOOSENING of the absolute prohibition on homosexuals in the military as written in the UCMJ. Her poor, poor “dates” obviously don’t read or comprehend English very well, because it it impossible to enlist in the military services without being told, and acknowledging, that overt homosexual behaviors will get you tossed out of the Services. But as usual, left-wing Liberal Progressives fall back on emotion when reason fails, and they all prated about how unfair it was not being able to openly have sexual relations “with the one you love”. The military has lots of rules of conduct and if there is particular conduct they find puts soldiers at risk they should sanction the soldiers – but it’s hard to see how admitting you are gay put soldiers at risk.

      1) Not sure what you mean about assertions.
      2) It‘s obvious you don’t like gays, but that doesn’t mean you get to exclude them from the military.
      3) Disliking gays does not make you moral, nor does stereotyping all gays as flamboyant little dandies.
      4) I made my point that if there is behavior that is a problem that behavior should be dealt with.
      5) How is your inability to tolerate a gay person contribute to honor, safety or cohesion?
      6) Finally defending the opportunity of a gay to serve, one who is willing to die for his or her country makes me immoral how?

The policy is usefull to my cousin in the military because he needs to watch out for the enemy in front of him and not be so concerned with watching out for his back end. Let soldiers do what they do best…Kill people and break things!

If she is a great American we are all in trouble. She is an idiot. She never served a day in the military and knows nothing about living in close quarters. Stick to her day job, which she isn’t very good at.

Lady GAG GAG, You have no idea what MILITARY LIFE is like. SHUT UP. I served in the military. You are under EXTREMELY close and intimate conditions. When you know the dandy in the foxhole with you, or on patrol, is taking and using bananas from chow (draw your own mental image) , you have a very uneasy and definitely destructive unit cohesion. When you see two obviously fancy fellas prancing around and getting into “sticky” situations with each other, it is not healthy for the fighting MEN of the unit. You have no idea what the heck you are speaking of. Gays in the military are a very destructive force on the fighting men and women of the US Armed Forces. Gays in the military only undermines our superior strength and morel fortitude. You yourself are a sick and twisted degenerate worth millions and millions. If you want to employ mary and nancy go ahead. If you want to dress them up in pyro bras and panties, go ahead. If you want to dress them in disgusting meat dresses, go ahead. But dont attempt to force that on HONORABLE men and women serving in the US Armed Forces. The Bible, Torah, and Koran all call homosexuality and abomination before God. Go back to your own more turpitude. Leave the things, like defending your life and your right to be a stupid, depraved, disgusting piece of human trash, alone so they they can continue to defend your rights. The weakening of our military can only cause you personal harm because if THEY win… trust me, your head will be one of the first THEY will chop off, publicly… so we can all watch.

Got to agree with her on this one. If they have more balls then most of you male civilians, let them serve. We have come so far as a society, we no longer need DADT to protect our gay service people. The majority are lesbians anyways some on people. True libertarianism means not sticking your nose in other people bedrooms. Learn to be a little more Christ like yourself.

TheOtherLove More Christ like??? Leviticus 20:13 “And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” These are laws that were given by Jehovah to Moses. Christ was the son of Jehovah and so being, obedient to his WORD. DADT is not about a social issue. It is about the military being an effective fighting unit. Gays in the military undermines that. The military is not a social experiment. It is life and death. It is not a democracy. It is a very hard, stern, and loyal institution, and homsexuality is contrary to it. I believe Churchill said of the British navy, “as long as we have rum and sodomy England shall always have a navy”. Let the homosexuals join the British navy. No gays in the US Armed Forces!!!! Not now, not ever. This isnt the Home Depot, Walmart, or the Piggly Wiggly.
