Lady Lawmakers Brawl in Afghan Parliament — Complete With Flying Shoe

Democracy can be a messy business. And as you can see from this video, the Afghan Parliament is no exception.
Video of a parliamentary session posted by Tolotv shows Nazifa Zaki, formerly a general in the army, throw a shoe at fellow MP Hamida Ahmadzai. Zaki then rushes across the aisle to attack Ahmadzai, who throws a water bottle in apparent self-defense, and the ensuing tussle is quickly broken up:
CNN reports that a coalition requested President Karzai appear to discuss recent rocket and artillery attacks from Pakistan.
Ahmadzai specifically wanted to summon two vice presidents on this issue. That’s is what set off Zaki.

Posted on July 6, 2011 at 6:43pmI am amazed by the lack of a.) respect, b.) decency and c.) intellegence these comments to a news story provoked. Rather than discourse, we get insults (from lewd/crude to thinly veiled). How can you think you are any better than anyone with this as standard for judgement? Just something to think about.
I watched this and was amazed that the Blaze insinuated both ladies were brawling. That’s not what happened – MP Ahmadzai let her passions go to her head and then attacked (childishly) another politician. Did the other pick something up? Of course! Someone was attacking her. But this fifteen seconds of flared tempers is NOT a brawl. It was a scuffle at best. To the editors, you cannot say you are trying for radical journalism — returning to the truth, to the roots of journalism — when you’re sensationalizing a simple four line story.

They are far from ready and if you listen to the Muslim mumblings that swirl this world, you can see that most Muslim based countries are not even close to being ready for a Demoracy. If the only thing you know is violence (Like chopping off heads, hands, feet and stoning people.), then you are not ready. This has been such a waste of time, money, and personal sacrifice by our military…..I believe that was what Bush saw for the future in this God Awful Country and that was why he put his emphisis on Iraq—who is a far step above the Afgan people. There he knew he had a chance of reforming these people and he did a great job setting the ground work.
