SAN JOSE MINE, Chile – The last of the Chilean miners has been raised from deep beneath the earth. All 33 men have now been delivered from the longest underground entrapment in history.
The foreman who held the group together when they were feared lost was the last man out. Luis Alberto Urzua was hoisted to safety in a joyous climax to a flawless rescue that captivated the world
The intricately planned rescue that ended late Wednesday moved with remarkable speed — and flawless execution — hauling up miner after miner in a cramped cage through a narrow hole drilled through 2,000 feet of rock.
The 33 men spent more than 69 days trapped in the lower reaches of the mine after a huge collapse of rock blocked the way out on Aug. 5.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 10:48pmYonni Rojas, miner number 21 and the cheating husband, is hoisted out. He acts very sheepish, then his 200 pound mistress, Susana, latches onto him. Such a loving sight, but no kissing, miner’s breath I suppose. Those two hug and hug then finally Yonni looks around and whispers, “Where is my wife?” Susana whispers back, “In America praying with Jesse Jackson.”
Oh my.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 9:49pmMaybe Chile will drop the lawsuit they filed against our state of Arizona with 10 other countries while NASA, and other evil US companies were helping them save their countrymen and while Americans prayed for the safety of their countrymen. We live in a country where our firemen will watch someone’s house burn for $75 and our countrymen are routinely killed by illegal invaders while they demand we change our constitution and way of life. We just want to protect ourselves. Hey Chile drop the LAWSUIT AGAINST ARIZONA!!!!!

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 9:44pmWow! This act of courage and “love of country and God” make this a better world. And the way the Chilean President conducted himself during this trial of epic proportions is a lesson in government leadership. His humility and love of God make Obama look small! This leader was not afraid to compliment the miners’ leadership and determination to live! He openly thanked God. He was proud to show his love of a Higher Power! I hope the U.S. can find a leader like this within the next 2 years. Sadly, the BP oil mess was a stark contrast in leadership defined by the cult of liberalism! I have cried, prayed, and felt overly inspired during this wonderful story of love of fellowman, love of God, and love of country! God bless Chile! And God bless the U.S.A for its shared expertise and ingenuity in work and labor of love!!!! And finally, I heard thanks and praise offered to the good folks in the U.S.A. by the miners … who knew from whence the equipment and ingenuity came!

Posted on October 14, 2010 at 12:33amI believe he did thank all those that contributed to the success of the rescue. Obama was not on the list, but the American companies and individuals who assisted were. What did Obama do to assist?
Exactly.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 9:31pmChile’s president is an entrepreneur businessman who knows how to gather resources and accept help from whoever can offer it. And we see the wonderful results!!
How I wish our president had those skills. Think of how Obama handle our oil crisis: refused help from others and then went off on vacation. I am embarrassed by him.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 9:25pmI’m glad all the men are safe , but what crossed my mind was that OUR President could take a lesson from the President of Chile , TAKE THE HELP WHEN YOU CAN.!!!!! where was our so called prez when the Gulf oil spill happened ? He was turning help away and furthering his goal to destroy our country .And would we be singing any national song together if the same happened here in the good OLD U S A ?

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 10:06pmChilean president and his first lady were there from first miner to the last. He also gave a heartfelt speech and sang their national anthem with tears in his eyes. All without a teleprompter.

Posted on October 14, 2010 at 12:30am@ peachyinga, Wasn’t that wonderful? The Chilean President has been dealing with major problems since his first days in office. The Chilean earthquake hit a couple days before he was inaugurated. Talk about trial by fire…. really impressive.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 9:18pmProof of what Glenn counsels us to do. Have true faith/hope/trust in God and EXPECT MIRACLES. Tears came to my eyes when so many who survived got on their knees and crossed themselves. This was a miracle.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 9:16pmIm glad they are safe and amazing they could make this happen…but frankly I am so sick of the 24-7 coverage by fox news I have had to watch HGTV. It has been an incredible overkill for me

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 9:38pmI applaud the Foxnews coverage. It was important that SOMEONE thought GOOD news should be broadcast. I know at times it seemed very tedious, but they weren’t taking any chances. Everything was checked and double-checked every time the capsule went down and came back. It was worth the extra time, to bring this miracle about. I thank God for his grace, and for providing those with the expertise needed to bring this plan to fruition. BTW, how does God teach patience? Does he give us patience…….or does he give us situations in which to PRACTICE patience? (I’m referring to the coverage, not 69 days underground/)

Thanks to the Almighty for getting them safely out.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 11:32pmGreat news indeed, listened to the last man out over the radio this afternoon. It was interesting that just minutes after the last man came out, I heard a bunch of Progressives in my apartment area state that the “Chilean Govt had to send marines in to keep peace among the men trapped inside.”
Unless I missed something the ones sent in were MARINE MEDICAL STAFF. Something these people seem to fail to comprehend actually exist. Soldiers who save people in all manner of extreme events.
