Let’s Compare Aerial Pictures of the 10/2 & 8/28 Rallies

Within hours of the 8/28 rally CBS News had posted expert analysis of the rally attendance and concluded that 87,000 people had attended.

Lets Compare Aerial Pictures of the 10/2 & 8/28 Rallies

I was pretty sure, given the hype around the “One Nation” rally, that they would do the same today.  Not so far:

Lets Compare Aerial Pictures of the 10/2 & 8/28 Rallies

I’m not sure that there is an “official” aerial photo of the “One Nation” rally, but this is the one that The Huffington Post is using:

Lets Compare Aerial Pictures of the 10/2 & 8/28 Rallies

It is not clear exactly when that photo was taken on 10/2 — but it is the only aerial shot featured in the HuffPo playlist.

Here now is a similar vantage shot from the 8/28 rally:

Lets Compare Aerial Pictures of the 10/2 & 8/28 Rallies

So if CBS News believes that 8/28 drew only 87,000 people — then I’m sure they will soon be posting expert analysis that the “One Nation” rally drew 25,000. Right?

Finally an aerial shot to show how big of a failure 10-2 was compared to 8/28. This picture is probably the best part about 10-2 yet, cause it shows the massive fail. LoL

Of course Ed is probably going to get on and say. “We had just as much if not more people than 8-28.” How much do you want to bet?

The aerial shot from 8/28 doesn’t even do the actual crowd justice to boot….somehow should have backed up the camera angle to show the THOUSANDS MORE that were between the WW II Memorial and the Washington Monument!! There was almost a solid crowd of people to the bottom of ‘Monument Hill’. Proud to say ” I was THERE.”

This is what they have done to the Tea Party. They first ignored us, stating we were only a few nuts. Then they attempted to discredit us, laugh at us etc. That did not work, so we believe that they are at stage 3 they will attempt to fight us. That is when we win. Remember what Mr. Beck says we are peaceful. But we will fight on the battlefield of ideas and the truth will set us free. God bless all of you.

Commie scum are vastly outnumbered by hard-working, freedom-loving Americans. Come November and then again in 2010, we will send the Commies/Socialists/Marxists scurrying back to the underside of the rocks from which they dared to crawl out. We, the No-Longer-Silent Majority, have shown that we are in this for the long haul, and when all is said and done, we will triumph.

The Yahoo news is SO dishonest. They have supposedly 88 pics of the Communist’s rally. Well, after the 34 pic, the rest are ALL from the 8/28 rally (that my 3 children, wife and I PROUDLY attended). In some of the pics the captions on the right side are completely dishonest. For example, the pic of Sarah Palin says that she attended the rally but unless you click on a “more” button, you will NOT see that it was the 8/28 rally and all the 8/28 pics are under the Commie’s rally.

If a person doesn’t take the time to press the “more” button, and read them, they will believe that Sarah Palin went to the Commie party. Go look for yourself!

You are so right. That’s one thing that has always left me scratching my head in amazement. The very system that these people demonize have made them WEALTHY. They hate capitalism and yet they have profited enormously from capitalism and so far as I can tell.. they’ve given very little of the credit to where credit is due. So. I’ve decided that in light of their apparent hypocracy there is only one way to understand this. The elite or ruling class wannabees who espouse such hatred for our economic system and our constitution don’t actually hate capitalism as it pertains to THEM. They figure somehow they are worthy of all the rewards of it but that no one else is. Yes..they want to be in a class where they are exempt from the same rules as you and I. They want to benefit from capitalism they just don’t want us to. In their warped and evil way of thinking.. they deserve all the power and money and opportunites that they can muster from our system. But you and me as ‘regular people’ deserve only to be beholden to them and should only be allowed to ever have the tiny crumbs that they see fit to flip off the table at us.

In a couple of words it’s basically a power trip. They want and deserve prosperity. You and I are too common and unworthy of the freedom of choice and capitalism. They only cloak it in terms of it being FOR you and me and equality so that they can dupe more people into helping them ride into power.

One thing I have noticed here. The 08/28 rally also served another higher purpose did it not? Drawing attention to and awareness of the Special Operations Warriors specifically and all our troops generally. If I am not mistaken several million dollars were raised by the time the 8/28 rally concluded. Did the folks at 10-2-10 have anything like this?…not that I am aware of. Their one goal seems to be “Beat Glenn Beck in numbers”…how sad

The organizers of this demonstration made a huge mistake. They went really far and openly to the far left. Remember the November election will have two results: Elect better people than those now in office and scare the Democratic Party so badly there will be a movement on the part of many people to eject the far-left forces and abandon the policies that are leading it (and the country) to disaster.

I too was there, when a 1,000 people + (from my edumecated guesstimate) 700K, chose to fly, rent their own buses, or drive themselves across the Nation, as I did, to a Rally of true grassroots persuasion. Not some 400 or more organizations, who were paying for buses, or train tickets, buying boxed lunches, and proffering free T-shirts for those in attendance. How is that not the definition of “astro-turf”? Then to leave the National Mall in complete and utter dis-array, is beyond contempt for those that profess so loudly that they love their Country. Shame on them, and shame on any who support them. I‘m just sayin’

Judging by the shadows it was mid-afternoon. Judging by the fact that the stage area is full and reports that the crowd was dispersing well before the end of the ralley I would assume the event is in full swing. The big problem I foresee is the progressives attempting to utilize their patently questionable counting skills this Nov.

Re-mix there is footage linked to in one of the earlier threads on the “big event” that show the area to be absolutely trashed.

I was looking at the shadows and I think it was about noon. The reflecting pool runs directly east-west. At noon any shadows will point due north. If you look at the shadow at the WWII Memorial, it is perpendicular to the long edge of the reflecting pool. Hence, my estimate of the time.

Another reason to conclude that is this: the rally was scheduled to run from 12:00 to 4:00. Therefore, one would expect the peak crowd to be there at 12:00 and so you would schedule your aerial photo for that time.

You may be right, but the real issue is that these people are ACCEPTED and ALIGNED by and with the democrats. They are welcomed into the fold with open arms knowing EXACTLY what they want. The democrats are either using them (which could lead to severe violence when they learn that they were just used) or they accept the communist version of utopia and are striving for it. Either way, it’s not a good thing.

More than you think. Many of the socialist and communists are teaching our children in lower, middle schools all across America. Teachers were not around during the early years after WWII and have no idea what they are all about. To them it only mean s high pay, free hand out and high pensions after only a few years employment. There are more Communist employed by our government than you will ever know until they take over our freedoms Since Obama entered the White House he has employed an additional 200,000 and you can bet a large number are communists and belong to government unions..

    Here is my theory,

the organizers were successful in getting tens to hundred of thousands of people to Washington with the free trips and “astro turfing” but then once they got their they went and had a vacation, taking advantage of the freebies given to them for their own gain with no sense of responsibility to how they got there. Just as they take advantage of the handouts that their leaders so aggressively fight for.

My family of 5 were at the 8/28 rally also. Got there at 7:00 am and if I could do it all over again I’d spend the night on the mall to get a better position than we had because it cannot be overstated how many people were underneath those trees. We were about mid-way to a little past mid-way down the reflecting pool under the trees stage left. It was INCREDIBLY packed under those trees not just for part of the way but the entire length of the trees on both sides of the stage for as far as you could see and then spilling out over on the other side of the trees. We had chairs that of course we could not set up because the crowd was so tightly packed under those trees with people just like us trying to get as close as they/we could to catch a glimpse of what was going on on the big screens. You could not turn around without literally being nose to nose. I stepped on a kind and gracious man‘s shoes more than once through the day and he would just smile and say that’s ok. Several times I nearly fell on him when a vehicle needed to pass and we all had to pack even tighter together to let the vehicle pass. Yes…there is a ROAD under those trees..with dirt/ground on either side of the road. .. That’s how wide the space is under those trees and the place was PACKED. The photos and aerial shots in no way do this space justice. All you can see in the aerial shots is a swath of trees that from a distance doesn’t look that big or impressive. But on the ground I can assure you that that area is massive and every square inch of it was tightly packed in with human beings who were good hearted, understanding and helpful to one another even as we all became each others support for literally moving around at all. The only photos I could get were ones where I just held my camera above my head and shot over the crowd. I got some pretty good shots that showed just how packed we were. I sent them to the GB team and maybe we‘ll get a better portrayal in the upcoming photo book if mine or other people’s photos are published who stood underneath those trees.

It was an INCREDIBLE day 8/28. With all the relative physical discomfort of standing from 7am until well after 1pm in a crowd where you could just barely wiggle any body part…… I’d have to say it ranks up there with one of the most inspiring, uplifting, bonifide memorable and greatest moments of my 45 years. The people were amazing. The place was spirit filled. Words truly cannot describe what it was like and what we all took away from that event. If you were there or watched on TV and had your heart tempered with the meaning of the event, you get it. If you attended 10/2 and were angry and disillusioned with what our government is or isn’t handing out to you, you surely don’t get it.

We are on the right track America. I am one who believes that even if we win elections in November and in 2012… America still has some hard dark days ahead. We have just let things get out of control and there will have to be a period of re-setting this economy and this country. But I am also one who believes that when we get through that period we can be and will be stronger as a Nation than ever before if we stick to the principles of Faith, Hope & Charity.

The One Nation Rally has a huge spot of grass on the whole left side empty. They had 400 groups sponsoring this event and yet they can’t even fill the space up. The One Nation Rally image is of a minority of people who are increasingly becoming unpopular while the Restoring Honor Rally photo is of a group of people who represent the future of the United States.

In fairness, I have to say that I‘m a member of one of the teachers’ unions that attended, and I was not pressured in any way to attend. It was suggested to all of us but no one was made to feel in any way like you had to go. Having said that, they made it really easy to go. $10 for the bus, a light breakfast and a snack on the way home. Presumably the rest was subsidized by the union. (By comparison, I paid $65 to attend 8/28 with Massapequa Tea Party, and I considered that a very reaasonable price.)
Also, I watched part of the One Nation rally on CNN today, and they certainly had more people than are represented in this photo. It must have been taken early in the day. On CNN, the reflecting pool seemed to be fairly well surrounded. However, I noted that (at least during the time I was watching) the camera was kept tight to that area and did not show the field next to the pool (which as we know was quite full at the Restoring Honor rally).
I’m only pointing these things out in the spirit of looking fairly at the truth. Meanwhile, I‘m trying to figure out how in the world I’m not in a nightmare, and my union is at the same rally with the Communist Party of America.

I was at 8.28 also. Even the satellite pictures, we do not show all those that were under the trees or still trying to get there on the paths, do not do the attendance justice…especially when one remembers that these were average Americans, most of whom have not been politically active, who came at the own expense for a rally whose specific agenda wasn’t even published…who just wanted a chance to be a part of something positive in (and about) America, for once.

The message of Faith, Hope and Charity combined with Individual Responsibility and healthy (not fanatical) patriotism was inspiring (although one word really does not adequately summarize my feelings). My son and I drove 30 hours (15 hours each way) and spent 4 hours getting to the mall and waiting for the event…and it was well worth every minute.

I was happy that our opponents wanted a counter-rally because free speech is a great thing and it would provide insight into what they are really after. I was disappointed, however, that it was envisioned to be a counter to the Restoring Honor rally; after all, how many could you actually to do that? I realize this event morphed into something else (to appeal to a more diverse group to bolster attendance) and have heard the claims now that it was planned over 1 year ago (prior to Glenn’s announcement), but that all just distraction and obfuscation.

I was surprised that the attendance was so low, especially given all the sponsorships, professional activists and protestors and political organizers involved and the fear and intimidation tactics that lead up to it…one would think that with all of the free buses provided that it would have dwarfed 8.28.

Maybe America has actually turned the corner…

Limited Federal Government, lower taxes, restoration of States’ Rights and Individual Liberty…is that too much to ask?

With the unions and other organizers arm-twisting their members to go, providing free buses and free lunches, it’s hard to believe the turnout for the OneNation event was so low. My family made hotel reservations for 8-28 in February and we drove 12 hours one way to be there. No one gave us a free ride to be there…it was by our choice and on our dime to attend an event of historical importance! No arm-twisting required! Plus we arrived on the mall at 1:00 in the morning to be able to get a decent place to sit and didn’t leave until hours after it was over. I don’t think many left 8-28 until the very end unlike the OneNation attendees who left in droves halfway through the pitiful “entertainment”.

I too was curious about trash left behind. Thank you STEVESD for your video. It verifies what I suspected. I would also like to hear interviews with restaurant/hotels managers, vendors, park police/maintenance, bus rental owners…. It think we‘ll find that they came and left a mess and didn’t spend a dime in DC. Also, where were their portapotties? Glenn’s picture shows a long line of them on the left of the picture. In that same location on Ed’s picture, there appears to be a row of union buses parked.

PEACHYINGA, I think you’re right – it looks like buses lined up on the left where the portapotties were at Beck’s rally. Are they parked on the grass? Classy.

PEACHYINGA- I also thought those were busses on the left side of the picture, but when I looked at the picture closer (zoom in to about 200%), I believe they are porta pottie lined up perpendicular to the way they were at 8/28 in rows of about 6 stalls each. If I am right, then I guess there were no lines for the porto potties. It looks like one stall per 10 people in attendance. This tells me VERY FEW people drove themselves to the rally, where as with 8/28 MOST people drove themselves since they base the number of porta potties on the number of registered busses.

I had the entire rally on my computer all day. It was nothing but one union leader after another complaining about the economy, saying they deserve more jobs and benefits. That’s all it was. When one guy came out and said “And tell Glenn Beck and his TeaBaggers that we officially have more people than he did” you could barely even hear any applause. It was a joke.

This rally was like a bad Saturday Night Live skit – the kind where they repeat the same non-funny joke so many times you want to shoot yourself. This is the left swan song, if this is your version of “reality” I am sure the media is about to stop fawning over you. The truth is, there is no “there” there. You do not exist as “average Americans,“ or ”the demo” or whatever it is you had convinced the media you were. The real America was at the Beck rally, and the mainstream media is about the desert the left like rats in a fire.

Even the “Communications Workers of America” (stage hands) can’t make this disaster look like a success. Pictures don’t lie. You can probably actually count the number of people at the One Nation rally from the pictures – they are spread out enough.

I think we have been misled by the actual power of the Unions and that they do not have the popularity or the ability to ruin the country. Glenn Beck has deceived once again. Well, I guess that he is only an entertainer and nothing else.

I can only imagine the tamped-up planning going on for the Stewart/Colbert comedy show on the national mall on 10/30/10 – they are gonna want to lock-in a large number of buses… Was the HuffPo offer for buses this weekend or for the Stewart/Colbert rally?

Socialist, Unions, Communist, Social justice activist all marked by color coded T-shirt regiments from their respective faction. It was sad and getting sadder for them because they operated just fine in the shadows but have exposed themselves for who they are and I believe the traditional democrat is going to scurry from this association with these progressives.

While I agree the turnout is encouraging, one has to consider:
      1) the apparent hand of God in the east coast storm
      2) Communists prefer to operate in the background, a rally such as this just adds to your FBI file.
      3) Just like the 8/28 rally, there are many more who did not attend who sympathize.

Take heart, but take NOTHING for granted, we are still ON to rally the VOTE !
Then we can begin to win the battles…

Maybe not pathetic, but a great honor to union workers, they are waking up. God Bless Them.
The lack of attendance at this rally represents honorable people who no longer wish to be the sheeples for the Union leaders. Maybe they are in mass awakening to the lies they have been fed by the Unions who took their dollars to create a ponzi scheme pension. Yes those of us not in a union have been lied to by our government elites, but God Bless the strength and character of the union workers who have been lied to twice by both government elites and their Union leaders. It is my belief that their honor and love for this country kept them from attending. A RALLY in REVERSE.

Thank you God. I have just finished watching the WHOLE rally. For those of you who missed the One Nation rally and are planning on watching it, be prepared for “blood to shoot out of your eyes”. As a public school teacher, I am disgraced by the NEA and AFT. I am currently a member of the NEA since the contract under which I work states that if I don’t join the association then the Board of Education will “deduct the annual service fee from (my) salary … equal in amount to the proportion of Association dues uniformly required of members to underwrite the costs of collective bargaining, contract administration and grievance adjustment…” So, I have to pay anyway. But as of this moment, I will no longer be a part of the NEA and will fight for my right NOT TO belong to a union. I encourage all public school teachers that are fed up with the unions to join me in this effort..

This is for SICBOY who claims that Glenn Beck altered the photo of the 8/28 rally. I did what Glenn tells us to do, don’t believe him, do your own research! So, I went to the website http://www.airphotoslive.com from which the 8/28 photo was credited, and reviewed the picture and the gallery and looked at the press tab. I highly doubt that this same company who also estimated the crowds at President Obama’s Inauguration doctored the photo for 8/28.

Unfortunatly here in California it’s not a right to work state. There is around 250 people in the company I work for and someone decided they wanted be part of a union so we ended up haveing a vote. For this vote everyone was sent to vote on wether we would have a union or not. Of course it passed with alot of miss information spread around the work site. After this it took 8 months to get a CBA and once the company and union agreed we got to vote on it. Basically we got what we would have gotten without a union with the of union dues, which is equal to the first two and a half hours worked each month. Since the union has been voted in we have had several meeting and the vote on the CBA. Less than 10% of the workforce attends theese meeting and the CBA was voted in with less than 50 employees voting. So to see that small of a croud when there are hundreds of thousand of union memebers in this country is normal. From what I have been told by this union (it is a big nation union, something to do with Hoffa) it is typical for 5% or less of chapters members to participate and decide the fate of the other 95%.

It definatly seems the unions have created an inviroment where they cannot loose. Not matter who is watching.

Believe me, the bulk of union members, the working class, are only members because they have to be.. There are many who have a strong work ethic, and like to use their skills to be productive citizens. It’s only due to mandatory membership and/or thuggery that they belong. These people are not going to discrace themselves by being seen at such an event. SEIU is possibly the most destructive legal entity in America at this time..
