Lib Author: Christians Like Bachmann ‘Hate’ the U.S., ‘Love a Fictional, Christian America’

On Wednesday, Huffington Post blogger and book author Frank Schaeffer appeared on MSNBC to discuss his take on Christianity in America. He wasted no time in lambasting Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry’s personal beliefs, essentially branding them as dangerous and not in tune with the “real America.” Schaeffer, who is the son of a conservative theologian, slammed evangelicals, claiming that they “hate the United States,” among other charges.
When speaking with Richard Lui, who was guest-hosting for Martin Bashir, Schaeffer said the following about Bachmann and those who agree with her views on faith:
“…these people actually hate the United States as it is. Look, they love a fictional, Christian America that wouldn’t include gay people, does not have choice and abortion rights for women and all the rest of this. But, in terms of the real America, inclusive, diverse, sustaining of gay people as well as heterosexuals and so forth, this is an America they despise and that’s why they talk in terms of taking it back, from whom? That would be from the rest of us, ordinary American citizens under the rule of law.”
Earlier in the interview, the angst-ridden author explains that Republicans need to choose to either be “a normal political party” or a “theocracy in waiting.” Then, he stakes the claim that Bachmann would “…produce a theocracy in the country where the Bible would be paramount and no longer the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.”
Schaeffer’s appearance was also in promotion of his new book, “Sex, Mom, and God: How the Bible’s Strange Take on Sex Led to Crazy Politics–and How I Learned to Love Women (and Jesus) Anyway.” You can watch his startling statements, below:

Posted on July 13, 2011 at 10:04pmWell he has a point. Bachmann’s understanding of religion would lead to a “Christian Taliban” right here in America. Remember, she is a welfare queen who profits from phony farm land subsidies and medicare money. She doesn’t even know she profits from the things she claims to be against, so I have no doubt she doesn’t understand religion. And what other choices to we have? Don’t say the Mormons, they aren’t even Christian.

Posted on July 7, 2011 at 5:02pm@momprayn Selective quotes from the founding fathers doesn’t really support most of what people are asserting here regarding what the country was founded on. Quotes regarding what their personal religious views were is not exactly what they intended in terms of the relationship between government and religion (church). Also, please quote from the Federalist papers and from a wider audience of the founding fathers and a much different picture than what you are inferring will come into view.

Posted on July 7, 2011 at 7:35pmJROOK. Ostensibly, only 3 people wrote the Federalist Papers. Even though it is a most impressive tool used to explain how our republic works, it cannot be counted on to be the sole means for understanding as to how or why the total of the founding founders put our republic together. It is three men’s work and understanding. No more. Do not under estimate the work of the other founders. They indeed had a very large impact as to how our country came into being. There was indeed a tremendous amount of Jewish & Christian values built into our republic. As a religious man, I appreciate that no individual religion would be the “authorized state religion” as per the 1st Amendment. This amendment also provides the specific protection of the rights of citizens to worship and follow God in their own way. That being said, the understanding as to the inalienable rights of man come from Jewish and Christian teachings. This cannot be denied.
Your posting make it seem as though you are an atheist. You may not like this, but as it has been said… the truth has no agenda…religious or otherwise.

Posted on July 7, 2011 at 1:36pm“Republicans need to choose to either be ‘a normal political party’”
The Republican party still holds to the same core values as it did 30 or 40 years ago (i.e., religion, family, etc.). Yet these spin-meisters consistantly claim that the Republican Party has moved too far to the right. As a Republican, I still have the same values and believe the same things that I did 30 years ago. It is the Democrat Party that has moved to the left. That has sold out to every single interest group that has come along to try and hold onto their power. And it is the liberals who are no longer “normal.”

Here’s what I like about what is coming to those who do NOT worship the Biblical CHRISTIAN Lord and Master of our Universe, immediately following the new Heavens and new earth (for those who were not taken in the Rapture, called MILLENNIAL RULE):
“Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. A Doctors Labor Is Not My Right
Posted on July 7, 2011 at 2:12pmThe Lib author is partially right. Our Founders did not set up a Theocracy of any kind, or intend for America to promote Christianity, per se (though individual liberty happens to be a necessary tenet of Christianity).
Rather, our Founders intended to secure each citizens’ individual inalienable rights. This allows for different, conflicting opinions in society, and our Founders wanted that to be the case, since they knew that this kind of liberty was necessary for holding government accountable.
And while this form of government can allow tension in government and society, the Constitution our Founders proposed (prior to the 17th Amendment) set up a structure which prevented the spread of factions.
See here, in Federalist Papers #10:
“There are two methods of curing the mischiefs of faction: the one, by removing its causes; the other, by controlling its effects.
“There are again two methods of removing the causes of faction: the one, by destroying the liberty which is essential to its existence; the other, by giving to every citizen the same opinions, the same passions, and the same interests. …

“It is in vain to say that enlightened statesmen will be able to adjust these clashing interests, and render them all subservient to the public good. Enlightened statesmen will not always be at the helm. Nor, in many cases, can such an adjustment be made at all without taking into view indirect and remote considerations, which will rarely prevail over the immediate interest which one party may find in disregarding the rights of another or the good of the whole.
“The inference to which we are brought is, that the causes of faction cannot be removed, and that relief is only to be sought in the means of controlling its effects.”

Conservative HATE BIG GOVERMENT and the hacks that try to rule over us.
The Constatution is the greatest writing in the History of the World, but Libterds can’t rule under the Laws in it, so they try to keed the inner city people down and dumb. That is working.
