Lib Radio Host Bill Press Tells Tebow: ‘S-T-F-U’ (Shut the F**k Up) About Jesus

Bill Press Calls Tells Tim Tebow to Shut Up About JesusLiberal radio pundit and former CNN host Bill Press has a message for Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow: “S-T-F-U” about Jesus.

The leftist commentator used this acronym (which stands for “shut the f**k up”) while speaking on his radio show this morning about his dislike for Tebow’s “in-your face” Christian faith.

“…And you know what I want to say, S.T.F.U. I’m tired of hearing Tim Tebow and all this Jesus Talk,” Press said. ”He better be praying hard this week, because he’s up against a real quarterback on Sunday — against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.”

As if this weren’t rough enough, Press continued, saying, “Everybody wants to make him a hero. I think he’s a disgrace. I think he’s an embarrassment.” Listen to his controversial assessment of Tebow, below:

Of course, Press wasn’t done there. He later turned to his web site, where he posted even more commentary about his opposition to Tebow. “Jesus said a lot of strong things. But one of the strongest things he ever said was: When you pray, don’t be like those hypocrites who like to stand on a street corner and pray, so everybody can see them,” he wrote. “Somebody ought to tell that to Tim Tebow.” He continued:

By dragging God into every football game, Tebow makes a mockery of Christianity – and trivializes religion. The truth is, God doesn’t care who wins an election, a bingo game, or a football game. Sorry, Tebow, Jesus is not a Broncos fan.

Now, if you’re one of the silly millions of Americans who loves Tebow’s in-your-face kind of Christianity, consider this. What if he were a devout Muslim, who bowed to Mecca after every touchdown and shouted “Allahu Akbar?”

Bill Press Calls Tells Tim Tebow to Shut Up About Jesus

Ironically, Press wrote a 2010 book called “Toxic Talk: How the Radical Right Has Poisoned America’s Airwaves.” To some, Press’ disparaging comments about Tebow would amount to “poison.” Others, of course, would disagree. Either way, these are certainly coarse words waged against a young football player who has done little more than speak openly about his Christian beliefs.

This isn’t the first time Press has made controversial remarks (and it probably won’t be the last).

Oh, I got the answer…it would likely be followed by pulling out a few guns and ending with a detonator?

    Putz. Don’t like it…don’t watch.

I actually agreed with Press on the view that Jesus isn’t a broncos fan…everyone knows Jesus roots for Browns. Being an underdog lover…Jesus was.

The way he presents it though? I hope Tebow pulls out a win, just so this guy can S T F U.

I love Christians. I question Muslims because they won’t stand up and take the fight to the extremists. If you can‘t take the fight to people screwing up your religion then you don’t deserve respect.

Had to laugh about your Browns comment; subtle, yet effective.

Don‘t think ’Moose-Lamb’ would make a very good mascot figure for them. Especially after a touch down. Although blowing it up, after a loud ‘allah akbar’ shout, would feed the whole crowd. Some would want the baked moose, and others the lamb. Win-win for both sides.

They can’t stand it that he does missionary work and helps many people…..they think that is the governments job. I‘ll bet a paycheck that there is a progressive research group digging through every aspect of Tim’s life for any dirt they can find. Keep it up Tim….it’s killing them. I see a lawsuit coming against the NFL that they not film you in prayer. Then we will see how the NFL and the players union react. I have a feeling not in God’s favor.

Press is in the smallest segment of society known to man, a liberal talk show host with a job. He has to pander to his extreme left emoton based audience to keep his show on the air. When Reggie led a prayer before or after a game, no one had the balls to tell him STFU. In Tebow, we have a non-violent, Christian, conservative, caucasian, male. His greatest aspirations are sharing the glory of Jesus Christ. Bill Press has no problem disparaging him. To slur Reggie White, Mr. Puss would be a racist. Interesting when God-less people quote parts of the Bible to justify their own beliefs/opinions. Why didn‘t he comment that it is fantastic that Tim Tebow was praising Jesus so the rocks didn’t have to cry out? And if the media would get their cameras out of Tim‘s face for a minute after he does great things then they wouldn’t interrupt his giving thanks to God – which is exactly putting God first – and they wouldn’t be offended. I wonder what Jesus would say to Mr. Press…….then again, He would know the heart of Mr. Press and probably would simply not waste His time.

I do not believe that God is a Broncos fan any more that a Colts fan. Further, he is no more a Tim Tebow fan than he is a fan of everyone of his children. But Mr. Press does Tim a great disservice. He incorrectly assumes that Tim seeks God’s help to gain glory for himself as a football player. As a Gator, I have watched Tim since his freshman year and know many stories about his personal commitment that have never been reported in media. In my opinion, he seeks only to serve his God in the best way possible and for now that means being the best football player possible. His uniqueness is the very fact that he does not have the “skill set” that Tom Brady or Aaron Rogers possess. Yet, no one can argue that he is successful doing it differently and accomplishing what was not accomplished by Kyle Orton who was acknowledged to be far more skilled. What is the difference? Is it God? It is God, but it is not God making Marion Barber run out of bounds or fumble. But Tim is who he is because he believes strongly and that belief strengthens him and strengthens those around him. He seems to have the ability to make everyone around him better. Tim is doing what Tim Does. But look at the others on the team. The defense is not the same. No one is the same player they were 2 months ago. That is the secret to the current win streak. Tim does not pray to be seen. I suspect he prays the same on the field as in his “closet” and I, for one, like that better than the usual chest puffing.

Well, JROOK, if scoring a touchdown became the dominant thing associated with that phrase it would improve the image of Muslims in this country. Any Muslim who showed the charcter and devotion to his sport that Tebow does would surely be respected for his religious devotion as well by other religious people, as long as that Muslim‘s devotion didn’t come with the sense of anti-Western entitlement that is too often portrayed these days.

At least I don‘t have to worry about Tim Tebow wanting to behead me if I don’t believe in the God he serves. We will all be judged one day and I’d rather be someone like Tim Tebow than someone like Bill Press and all his BS. The Muslims do put it in our face with all their whining and law suits about religious discrimination, bigotry and racism, and on and on. It is a fact that most Muslims want to change America in ways that I don’t want like Sharia law and want to kill all the infidels. Their words, not mine.

So much wrong with Press and his comments. His Biblical quote from Jesus was about the “religious” fakers who pray on the corner to be seen, but are completely corrupt on the inside. Tim Tebow is legit in his faith. It’s just ingrained in his behavior and who he is. There are two few people of integrity standing up and giving credit to the Lord for their success. I think it‘s great that he’s humble enough to do so.

Dear Bill Press and his fans:

I believe that it is now time for you and every Atheist and God-hater to hear more about Jesus than ever before everyday louder than ever. Therefore, I am announcing the fact and proof that your soul exists and will vacate your god-given body after you take your last breath on Earth. You will have no say in the matter where your conscious self goes after you leave your earth-suit (your body) but you will indeed answer to God for the kind of life you lived while on this earth. I believe that you and those around you have a God-given purpose, but you have to become right-standing with God through Jesus Christ as your Lord (absolute authority) and Savior before you will ever experience it.

This Video will Help you and those around you.

He should know that Jesus said in summary that whatsoever you do to the least of my people you do to me. Jesus was saying that you mock him you mock God. The consequences of Mr. Press deciding he is arrogant enough to mock God is shocking. Believer or not, why is it always the media that is doing all the mocking? Could it be they have a boss who pays them to only think against God? It appears that way. Not one media person ever stands up for God or Jesus. I wonder why that is.
It is not separation of church and state. It is just a bunch of reporters who seem to be telling all of us that they do not fear God so therefore they can mock Him. At least we know where they all stand. and obviously not kneeling to anyone.

Do we care what atheists say? I certainly don’t. I stopped defending my faith since the Holy Spirit told me to STOP DEFENDING YOUR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. I pray for those who do not or who will not believe, and then I ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO TAKE OVER. That is all we are supposed to do. Let our light shine and pray. THAT IS ALL WE SHOULD BE DOING ABOUT OUR FAITH UNLESS THE HS TELLS YOU OTHERWISE. If the HS does not tell you what to do, then do nothing. Everything you should do should be by the direction of the Holy Spirit and that is why it does not bother me at all when someone is derogatory towards me, because I know that it is Jesus they hate. I am just the Messenger. Forgive them. Pray for them and MOVE ON.

Herein always lies the problem with RELIGION. They always feel they must defend their faith. If they were truly sure of their faith, they wouldn’t even think of defending it. THEY WOULD KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH WOULD SET THEM FREE OF ALL THAT.

So, true followers of Christ: STOP DEFENDING YOUR FAITH.

      1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
A natural man is any person who has not made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. Either you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior and have had the door opened to understanding the things of God or you have not made Him your Lord and Savior and therefore CANNOT KNOW THEM (spiritual things)! God has opened the door for every person to make the transition from “natural man” to “spiritual man”, however, it is a personal choice. Those who have made that transition are praying that those who have not; come to the knowledge of God because we know the result of spiritual ignorance and do not wish that result on any person.
In the meantime, the natural man says stupid things about spiritual people because they cannot understand them. Spiritual people frustrate many natural people because the spiritual person’s actions often seem to be foolishness to the natural man. Anything you cannot understand can be frustrating. Frustration can lead to stupid, uninformed and damming comments. Those comments may make sense to other “natural” people, but to the “saved” it is obvious the frustrated person is as lost as a goose in a hail storm and is headed full steam toward an end they do not want. In the meantime, they cannot enjoy this life in any meaningful sense. When they see a spiritual pers

If Tebow beats the Pats it’ll be his leadership skills and his teams confidence, Pats are terribly hurting in the secondary, so bad we are using receivers again (Like we did in our first superbowl win EVER, Thanks Troy Brown). But even though Massachusetts is the 2nd state to go into gay marriage and is also a Democrat safe haven for most, its also the highest Catholic state in the Union period, at least 44% are defined Catholic, so if Tebow is a devout Christian I’m sure I speak for the majority of the Commonwealth when I say Hooray for Tebow! Never let them silence you! But of course you and your circle jerk friends have the publics money to have a voice and sadly be nothing more than an attention whore. Why does Bill Press really dislike Tebow? Because he hasn’t fallen into the Progressive trap of somehow being ashamed/afraid to talk about his religious beliefs and his faith in God.

For the past 80 years the Progressive socialists in this country have been fighting a war to drive God and religion out of the public square. Think about it, if any prominent member of society begins making mention of God or religion, they are almost instantly mocked and derided as a kook. The purpose of this is to make an example of them so that everyone else knows that bringing up Jesus anywhere outside of a chuch is akin to dropping the N-word.

Why does Press almost irrationally seem to hate Tebow? Because deep down he fears him. Tebow is a talented and very successful young man who is very visibly breaking down the unspoken rules against visibly talking about religion that Progressive’s have invested so much time creating.

They can’t have that. So they desperately rush to kill the shepherd before any sheep can gather to him.

Why else would so many people be devoting so much time to try and find any dirt to discredit and destroy him?

Bill Press, although I know even if you were to read this, it would never be heard. Because people like you love to hear your own voice. 1st off-You quoted scripture, even though you’ve no idea about who Jesus was rebuking. The priests Sanhedrin, Pharisees, Sadducees who played to the crowd, like you do, would stand in the market, crying out, and fast by making themselves out to be fasting so the lay people would say, wow, that guy is so devout! Jesus told them they got their reward, praise from man.
Jesus said, if you fast, clean up so only God sees and rewards you. And pray in your prayer closet so God may answer your prayers. But Tebow, I’m sure, DOES pray in private and when on the field He’s glorifying God to millions. And Bill, doesn’t pro ball(NFL, NBA and MLB) NEED a role model? From dog fighting to pedophilia, and all of the drug abuse, even a big time dope dealer gets less NEGATIVE media than Tim Tebow gets for reminding everyone who cheers for him ought to be giving God the glory, just as he does….Bill Press, why does someone praying to Jesus make you so angry? But you reminded me of something: TRUTH IS ALWAYS CONTROVERSIAL AND CONFRONTATIONAL.

No real need though as everyone knows the answer, even those who aren’t honest with themselves.”

I can answer that honestly. If I were to see a devout Muslim Soccer player who bowed to Mecca after every goal and shouted “Allahu Akbar” I would actually see Muslims in a more favorable light. If I then heard that player had lived in the West and even then he was known as one of those rare Muslim visitors to the West who did NOT drink alcohol, smoke pot, and frequent strip clubs, then I would have even MORE respect for the Muslim faith and would see that hypothetical, Muslim athlete as a decent role model in an insane world. HOWEVER, I am able to answer THAT question honestly because I am honest enough with MYSELF to say: BUT HE BETTER NOT DO THAT SH!1 IN MY COUNTRY! America is for WHITE CHRISTIANS. Everybody else needs to go home to those lands that the Supreme Creator has given to them. And don’t tell me about the INDIANS. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the Book of Mormon teaches that the Indians LOST the right to live in this land of promise because of sin and wickedness. And Mormons USED to teach exactly that before their leaders started attending Harvard and Yale!

I don’t know anything about football and have only recently heard of Tim Tebow. But what I have heard of him, I am proud of, as I know his Heavenly Father is even more. He’s not doing what he does for the praise of men but to let them know who is really in charge and to give Jesus the glory. There will always be people like Press who are afraid of and put off by TRUTH (Jn. 14:6) and the FACT that they will one day be standing before Jesus as their JUDGE, like it or not.
I agree that Christians need to stand up for what we believe and make Jesus known in the public arena – and Tim is doing an awesome job of that, but I also have a problem with some “Christians” here who use the world’s (and Press’s) own language and insults against him. We must remember what Paul says about Spiritual Warfare! We do NOT fight as the world does. We need to PRAY for people like Press who are willingly ignorant. Jesus told us to pray for our enemies, and Stephen, as he was being stoned to death, prayed that God not hold it against them (because of their spiritual blindness and ignorance). Let’s be sure to follow the right examples here in order not to come across as rude and tacky as Press does. Would Jesus want us to talk like they do? I think we need to be careful and pray before responding. Otherwise, we’re no different than they are.

I will gurantee you that if Tim Tebow had a hypodermic syringe sticking out of his arm, cocaine residue all over his upper lip and nose, a huge tatto of Che Guevara on each bicep, several illegitimate children strung all over the United States, and a gay lover waiting for him back in his Denver home, he would have already been confirmed athlete of the decade, with nine years left to go.

I’m not a bible thumper, it doesn’t bother me that Tebow does a quick prayer, but it makes me estatic to see how it drives the left and all the rest of the Christian haters out of their ever lov’in minds.

As far as the what if he were a muslim coments, If he were the is no doubt in my mind that they would paint an arrow pointing toward Mecca in each endzone.

What kind of question is that? How many donuts do you eat every week? What size shoe do you wear? I live in one of the most culturally diverse cities in America and work at a business that employs hundreds of Muslims, mainly from India. Within my circle of friends/acquaintances probably 50. But what the hell does that have to do with the price of eggs?

And,,that is what we as christians should always do..give HIM praise in ALL things! Fundamentalist Muslims don’t play sports. When the Taliban was run out Afghanistan one of the first things that the military did was to open up the soccer field for afgani children to play. They had to have a strong security presence to protect the children from any islamofacist killing them for what they see as a sin. I wonder if liberals realize that these Muslims that they champion would execute their gay constiancey, fire women from the work place, force women to cover up, ban girls from being educated, outlaw sports, secular music, alcohol, movies, ect… I have been following Tebow for years and win or lose he always glorifies God and he has often said that the reason football is important to him is because he could use the fame and fortune as a platform to help people. Show me a Muslim athlete that has built a hospital in a third world hospital. And I bet that people in other countries have no idea who Tom Brady, Kobe Bryant, or Peyton Manning is. Its about time that our kids now have a role model who is faithful and who shows that fame and fortune is not the end goal changing the world for the better is.

One thing the left never seems to tire of is hypocrisy marinated in a healthy dose of mental LSD. I wonder if he sold more than ten copies of that book of his? I have many times word-for-word quoted a liberal comment and just switched out the names in various forums. You should hear the F-bombs dropped by the mental elite as they dispense the liberal brand of “tolerance”. The screaming when the reply points out that those words actually came from one of their own is hilarious. Most of them contend that it‘s okay for a LIBERAL to use those words because they are referring to any moron who doesn’t agree verbatim with their point of view, but it’s wrong for a conservative to say those things. What a life!! It truly and fully reveals the ridiculous views of the leftist elites and further serves to illustrate the left’s concept of “the end justifies the means”. Typical, but I hope they keep on talking because they drive a nail into the coffin of leftist thought every time they do it.

As a human being, there are a lot of things I would like to say to Mr. Press – but as a Christian, my words would not be pleasing to God, therefore they will remain unspoken. I do, however, have a bit of advice for him. Go ahead and mock Jesus, Go ahead and riducule those of us who love and worship Him, Go ahead and do your best to prove He doesn’t exist – then pay close attention to what I am about to say to you, it might (just might) save your worthless soul. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He suffered and died on the cross to save all that would believe in HIm, thereby assuring us an eternity in Heaven with Him. And from your words and the attitude you displayed, it seems obvious to most Christians that you do not hold those beliefs. I just have one thought for you to ponder – IF YOU ARE RIGHT, THEN I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO LOOSE, BUT………….IF I AM RIGHT, YOU HAVE ETERNITY TO LOSE WHILE SPENDING IT IN HELL. Oh, one more thing – the main difference between true Christians and non-belielvers like you is that we try to live the way Jesus wants us to – we pray for our enemies and do good to those who curse us. So, yes Mr. Press, lots of Christians will be praying for you, and GOD will listen to us, but unfortunately for you the only way for you to get to Heaven is to change your attitude and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savoiur. And that, sir, is your choice – not likely to happen AND your path to Hell is being paved as we spea

Well, too bad he didn’t pull out the win. Too bad Tebow is a garbage bible thumping quarter back who cannot even throw a proper spiral. And as far as the comment about turning off the TV if I don’t like it, why should I have to? I’m tired of religion shoved in my face every time I turn on the TV. I’m tired of people running for office using faith as a platform. What happened to the separation between church and state? Press is right, Tebow is directly contradicting the bible by praying in public. The responses to this video make me want to vomit. It is sad to think that all of you are registered voters. I’m all for everyone being able to believe in what they want, but I’m tired of right wing Christians taking it too far. Too many laws have been changed because of your stupid, hypocritical moral code. Also, the fact that 43% of people actually thought Tebow was being helped by God is simply absurd. Really? So, God cares more about football that he does starving children? People like you make me ashamed at the fact that I was raised Southern Baptist. Oh, and in case you forgot, by cursing and condemning Bill Press you are also contradicting the Bible. Enjoy that last tidbit cafeteria Christians.

Another aspect and the main problem the leftist press has is the unabashed proclamation of his faith. Public displays of religious faith are counter to the agenda of the enemies of freedom. The Christian Doctrine tells us to refrain from hiding the light of our faith, but rather to display that light to the world. No one in a free society will be forced to even consider that “light”, if the light is not attractive to them.

Theism free societies are paradise… you should move to one.

    Kim Jong’s North Korea

    Stalin’s Soviet Union

    Pol Pot’s Cambodia

    Hitler’s Germany

    Mao’s China

Next time your life is being saved in a Christian or Jewish hospital think about all the lucky people housed secular humanist gulags and reeducation camps. So much love when man thinks he’s empowered to do whatever “he” wants. When he’s god.

LOL LOL I believe the apostle Paul felt the same way on the road to Damascus to ….what else…kill christians! The Bible says “every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!” I’d rather do it now by my free will than later against my will in abject horror of what is to follow. But somehow I don‘t think you’ll understand. Being forewarned is to be forearmed, if you haven‘t made a prior reservation for what is to come don’t cry that it isn’t fair, cuz being a staunch upstanding MAN won’t cut it on that day. Jus sayin!
