Look at where the major training centers for the military are. Virginia, Georgia, Texas, and other Red states. You can’t starve us literally since these are the farming states, you can’t starve us figuratively since well these are the states with the guns.       I have a theory about “cracking points”, we had one in 1775. We had one in 1861. There was one in Russia in 1988. We are sitting on one now, and the one with the biggest willpower decides where things go from here. There are only two ways out of a “cracking point”. 1 civil war(see Libya, 1861 etc)
      2. splitting of the country.(see Roman empire, Russia 1988). Currently, I think we are on the latter of the two lines, because American’s really do not want to kill their fellow man, unless given no other choice.

I have long been sick of the Federal government telling the states what to do (like the .08 limit on bac) or you will lose your federal funding for roads. Maybe what he is proposing is what it would take for states to finally wake up and make the federal government come to them and ask for money.

      I’m down lets do it…..but in turn the red states, should not pay any federal taxes….and then we will be just fine…..we would thrive, and our children would be much better educated, and we will feed ourselves. I think it sounds great!!!

These domestic enemies really frighten me when they advocate mass murder. Wasn’t it Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn who were advocating rounding up 25 million Conservative Americans to slaughter in Concentration camps? What is this Jewish infatuation with mass genocide? I mean that would have made their Holodomor back in the early 30s appear tame by comparison. Indeed they appear to be set on genocide. I’m very afraid of Reds.

      Clear that Obummer jumps when a blue state or purple state needs his assistance. Just the opposite when a red state needs help.

      Seriously, though – red states don’t NEED you. We are AMERICANS. We have the WILL and the POWER to take care of ourselves. In spite of what you and your socialist buddies keep telling us. Sure, we’ll have tough times. But, WE WILL SURVIVE. WE WILL SUCCEED. WE WILL THRIVE. And, WE WILL PROSPER. Because, we are AMERICANS and we will not just lay idle and wait for your handouts. We will rebuild our own cities and we will have even MORE pride in them, and become even MORE INDEPENDENT because of it! Not stepping up to aid those in need makes them MORE INDEPENDENT, not less. So, it is a BIG mistake for Obama not to send aid. He will lose even more votes because of it.
      His big voting blocks are those that receive govt assistance in one form or another. Those who have grown dependent up it.
      There are MAKERS and there are TAKERS.

      @ Hook (as a retired vet, I refuse to call you captain) – take a look at that map again. Then think about where all of the energy is in this country. There are a few states that currently show blue that I guarantee would go “red” if it meant they were free from the tyranny of the federal government (Montana & West Virginia come to mind). Once free, there is no doubt that the “red” states would flourish. You think we would be hurt if this happened, we believe we will be free – a free man is a productive man and in turn, a free market is a productive market. We would survive just fine.

      Then I encourage those “starved Red States” to ignore Washington D.C & the EPA and begin immediate extraction of oil, natural gas, shale & coal and start selling it on the international market. Some Red states could extract over $100 million per day of nat gas & oil, something tells me they would not be starving.

      Liberals like this guy do not understand how wealthy the Red states would be if not for D.C banning them from accessing all of their energy & raw materials. At some point if the economy were to get bad enough, states realizing the answer is right under their feet will simply go their own way out of necessity. Under such a scenario, the energy & agriculture rich red states would thrive while liberal urban centers would tank.

      @ Kook (I agree with vet’s comments earlier, a captain you ain’t) – I looked at your link which was based on: Federal Spending Received Per Dollar of Taxes Paid by State, 2005 ( title copy/pasted from the site). If I understand this title correctly, this indicates the number of Fed$$ each state receives is based on the amount of taxes the state PAYS to the Fed. If this is correct, then all your lovely little blue states don’t pay $$ in so they don’t get $$ out. If I am missing something here, I will be happy to stand corrected upon your response.

      Why is going against the “will of the people” treason? It may be stupid, but the will of the people changes rapidly and this is the principal reason for our government being formed as a republic rather than a democracy.

      Simple counter attack (if you will), when the states get hit- just don’t send in their portion of the federal funds that states must do each quarter. States collect taxes (sales, poperty, gas, etc…) on behalf of the Federal Government and hold them (as any business would do), then send them in quarterly.

      But- Obama can’t risk doing something this monumentally stupid- he had (has) voters in these regions and cannot risk losing them or he has no shot AT ALL. Plus, he would be taken to court over states rights and obligations.

      I just have a hard time believing someone actually thought of this tactic- seriously, how dumb is this???
