Liberal Group Posts Sarcastic Craigslist Ad Seeking Driver for MI State Rep. With Suspended License

Liberal Group Progress Michigan Seeks Driver for Republican State Rep With License Suspended for Drunk Driving

Progress Michigan posted this ad on Craigslist.

Starting April 9, Michigan state Rep. Bob Genetski won’t be driving himself around due to his license being suspended after he failed to take a breathalyzer test when pulled over earlier this year. One liberal advocacy group doesn’t want the Republican District 88 representative to miss work over it though and posted a Craigslist ad seeking a driver on his behalf.

The decision for Genetski’s April 9, 2012, to April 8, 2013, license suspension came earlier today and within hours, MLive.com reports, Progress Michigan had posted the Craigslist ad. It reads:

Full-time driver being sought for second-term State Representative after he was dealt a bad
hand by Lady Justice. Frequent, one hour and 41 minute commute to and from Saugatuck and
Lansing with a fun up-and-comer who loves an occasional drink (or two). Court fees are high
so unfortunately minimum wage, but will make it up with admission to all of Lansing’s finest
establishments!

College students preferred! Job will provide extra $$$ to make up for tuition increases the
legislator voted for last year as chair of the Higher Education committee.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license, valid license plate tags, commitment to following the speed limit and “ABSOLUTELY no drinking and driving (been there, done that).”

MLive reports Genetski’s lawyer saying this move by Progress Michigan was “unfortunate” but “not totally unexpected.”

Progress Michigan‘s Communication’s Specialist Mitchell Rivard continued with sarcasm:

“This is a very serious matter, but hopefully this is something where Rep. Genetski can hire a driver. That‘s something he hasn’t done now in the past three years in the House — being a job creator.”

With regard to Craigslist’s terms of use policies, which prohibit false or fraudulent ads, Rivard said:

”We want to make sure that Genetski first and foremost can do his duties, and to do that he‘s going to need some transportation and we figured we’d proactively help him out.

MLive reports that Genetski was pulled over in Lansing Jan. 19 around 1:30 a.m. He failed the field sobriety test and at that point opted not to take the breathalyzer, which is a “violation of Michigan’s implied consent law and punishable by a one-year driver‘s license suspension and six points on a driver’s record.” It is reported that the court will not release Genetski’s blood alcohol level to the public but does state that it was more than the legal limit at 3 a.m. when it was drawn at a local hospital.

never seen anything in print where he’s claiming racism, bias, profiling and can only assume when you denote he’s an R in his politcal description he will probably find a way to work.
mr. rivard seems to have a concern about him making it to work, would it be to personal to ask if he was one of the D’s that spent a lot of last year in chicago during working hours.

They DID use the term ‘Job Creator’, so contrary to their established position they DO concede that they exist. This is a big victory. Now that liberals admit that job creators actually exist, perhaps they can be convinced to get off said creators backs!

Hmmm – how about them advertise to create another job here in Wisconsin. Last year a state lib congressman was nailed for soliciting a prostitute and had to apologize for threatening a female legislator. Maybe he should have a chaperone to keep him away from women – and where is NOW or Fluke and heaven forbid a call from Obama to the innocent victim lady legislator. http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/116619353.html

I’m sure the ad will be flagged and removed quickly. However maybe there could be a comparison of Republicans vs Democrats in the law breaking area. Any guess on who will win?(or lose)depending how you look at it.

Well, we have a President who started his political career in the house of a domestic terrorist and one in the White House who acted like a sexual predator… so we can just go downhill fom there and let the chips fall where they may just on character issues alone.

Stands to reason on a larger scale that an ad about Obama on Craig’s list by a clear thinking Conservative group stating… “full-time President needed for America… no casual, or part-time American with a full-time Socialist agenda wanted… as we’ve been there, done that.”

He is not above the law, so he gets what he deserves. In this case I can’t blame the left for poking some fun at him.
