Liberal MoveOn.org Fumes: Members Wonder ‘How They Can Ever Work For’ Obama’s Re-Election

Liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org is furious with Friday’s announcement that President Barack Obama backed down on air regulations, overruling the Environmental Protection Association, and is wondering how its members will be able to work for his re-election.
Republicans had criticized the proposed EPA plan to tighten smog rules, saying it would be an obstacle to business growth. The administration’s announcement came several hours after a new report revealed no net jobs were created in August.
In a statement, MoveOn.org Executive Director Justin Ruben said the president “caved to big polluters” and his decision is one “we’d expect from George W. Bush”:
According to the EPA, the clean air standards the President blocked would have saved up to 12,000 children, elderly folks, and others each year. That means thousands are likely to die because the President caved to big polluters. Many MoveOn members are wondering how they can ever work for President Obama’s re-election, or make the case for him to their neighbors, when he does something like this, after extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich, and giving in to Tea Party demands on the debt deal. This is a decision we’d expect from George W. Bush, not from a Democratic President elected to protect the environment and the health of our children.
MoveOn.org, you’ll recall, was behind the “General Petraeus — General Betray Us” ad campaign, among other exploits, and recently teamed up with Van Jones to start the “Rebuild the American Dream” movement.
The smog announcement was the White House’s second major blow to environmental activists in just one week. Last Friday, the administration removed a major roadblock for the proposed 1,700-mile Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to the U.S.

Posted on September 2, 2011 at 4:03pmWhere do these LIBERAL socialist Marxists get their numbers? 12,000 Men/Women/Children/Elderly(wonder what they are?) killed by the air polution?
The problem I’ve found with so many Liberals is their mis use of facts. They hear a tiny bit of one report and being hysterical, as most of them are, they fly off the handle. They want a trouble-free existence, no opportunity to build character, to learn to stand on their own… and IF they don’t have facts to back up their points…they make them up.
Where would 12,000 people die from air pollution caused by this? I saw an interview a couple of weeks ago in which some rep of the EPA was asked this type of question and it was clear that she was lying thru her teeth. The greatest disservice to our Country has been these childish liberals making up their insane facts and then BELIEVING them!

Posted on September 2, 2011 at 4:37pmThere are no “Big polluters” anymore. We have chased most of our industries away. Even though they had not really been polluting that much for a long time now.
The country is going broke, no one can find a job, but take a deep breath, that’s the smell of what used to be the greatest country on earth, decaying.
Inhale deeply and enjoy, but don’t exhale, unless you can blow it down a hole and freeze it.

Posted on September 2, 2011 at 5:19pmCapitalism provides for individuals the satisfaction of their wants according to the extent of their contribution to the satisfaction of the wants of others.
Functions are not whole people; ie “worker”, “capitalist”, “landowner”, and “producer” are single facets of a whole person. Every person is also a consumer, and because production is subordinated to consumption, how a person fares as a consumer is of primary importance to the producer. The consumer rewards the producer according to the producer’s contribution to consumer satisfaction. Capitalism therefore encourages individuals to, in their own interest, constantly adjust their choices of roles and actions so as to constantly increase their contribution to the satisfaction of human wants.
The relative importance of some consumers’ wants are greater than that of others in this process. The relative importance of any given consumer’s wants is a function of how much he contributed to satisfying the wants of other consumers in his role as a producer. Under Capitalism human choices, through their interplay, coordinate each other so as to provide for human welfare as beautifully as possible.

Posted on September 2, 2011 at 5:19pmEvery State intervention into the market nexus – every tax, regulation, redistribution or expansion of bureaucracy – only slackens the ties linking contribution and income, thereby hampering the instrumentality of the market by making producers less responsive to consumers, thus leading to reduced consumer satisfaction. Because everyone is a consumer first, and a producer second, reduced consumer satisfaction means reduced public welfare.
