Liberal Radio Host: Compared to Japanese…Americans Are ‘Ruffians & Thugs’

Radio personality Bill Press praised the Japanese people Thursday for their resilient spirit and solidarity in survival. At the same time, however, the liberal host couldn’t help but slam his fellow countrymen, suggesting Americans aren’t nearly as polite in times of crisis.

Pointing to the “anarchy” in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, Press suggested the Japanese make Americans look like “a bunch of ruffians and thugs.”

h/t Brian Maloney

Are Americans really more prone to violence and lawlessness following a natural disaster?

Mr Press,… Post Katrina New Orleans is the end result of the government state that you undulate and quiver for. A place where government have fulfilled the needs just enough to enslave the people but not totally cover their needs. The subjects of this tyranny make up the difference through crime and scamming the system. This has gone on in that third world cesspool for generation after generation ever since it was first run by corrupt liberal bureaucrats. It is a microcosm of what will happen if you get your Marxist Christmas wish list. The people there had been trained over the years to wait for the government to take care of them. When the time came and they looked to the poverty barons for their relief, all they got was a get out of town message and if you don’t leave write your social security number on your arm with a sharpie so we can identify you. Words of wisdom from the author of the term “Chocolate City” , who by the way was rumored to have been flying in from Dallas for those sweaty stairwell interviews. On the other hand the Japanese still have honor and are industrious and do not expect everything from the government.

For once, I agree; and I know to whom the comparison is being made, so it’s like comparing apples and oranges. The Japanese are brought up to believe in and live their lives with dignity and honor. They revere their old; they value their community. Japan also does not embrace multi-culturalism, so if you are an outsider, sucks to be you. We are a melting pot and the perfect example of why multi-
culturalism does NOT work. One might also compare how the residents of New Orleans conducted themselves with the way the residents of the state of Mississippi conducted themselves…Mississippi rolled up her sleeves and got to work. They didn’t stand there screaming like banshees, waiting for someone to come in and do the dirty work. Like my dad used to say, if you want to act like an animal, don’t be surprised if people treat you like an animal.

A liberal disussing race is a joke, since I truly believe a progressive is like a slave master, in his heart of hearts. Like a kindly “Massa” from old, the Prog – Lib will “take care” of all the people he believes are below him on every scale. (how much does that alone smell?)

Progs make me shake my head in sadness and disgust. That Progs are dangerous makes me very angry. Shine the light on these lying snakes. That is the only way. Have they not shown more of their true natures in the last 2 years than at any other time in history, since T. Roosevelt/Sanger/Wilson?

The ENTITLED ONES looted and rioted during Katrina and should serve as notice to law abiding citizens to prepare ahead. The thing about it is — Were any of Holder’s people (HIS WORDS, NOT MINE) convicted for looting, etc. after Katrina…mostly NOT. This is why they do it because they are ENTITLED and they GET BY WITH IT. WAKE UP AMERICA! Most Americans (all races/creeds/ethnic groups) for the most part are law abiding but we have so many who have been raised on Government Handouts that when Katrina hit they saw opportunities to grab property (clothes, TVs, electronics – all of which were NOT needed for survival) that they did not own or work for. IT might be one thing if after several days there were no food/water supplies and the items being grabbed was just that — things to survive on but the items taken during Katrina had NOTHING to do with survival.

We must WAKE UP and realize that in emergencies, or even when the union and ENTITLED ONES don’t get their way, they do not play by the rules of society. BE PREPARED!!!

He is right. Just like Katrina, the American Blacks would use the occasion to loot 60 inch plasma screen televisions from the Walmart. It would not matter that there is no electricity to run them.

It would also take longer than a day for the national guard to clear the rubble from the streets so that food and water could be shipped into the disaster area. After a day of going without food and water they’d place the blame on G.W. Bush.

Having helped clean up after natural disasters, I’ve seen firsthand who the volunteers are and who the spectators are. We’ve all seen who the looters are and who the ones helping are.

The black people’s sense of entitlement to everything as pay back for slavery is the root cause, plain and simple. They are unwilling to earn their way and as soon as there is no rule of law they take what they believe is rightfully their’s. Not everyone looted after Katrina. I live north of New Orleans and Katrina hit our area very hard. We didn’t have to deal with water, but trees on our homes and blocking our roads. The number of huge pine trees that snapped during the storm was unbelievable!

People here spent the days following Katrina helping one another clear the streets so that we could move about. We cut and pulled trees off of one another’s homes. We pulled our grills into the front yards and cooked and shared the food that was thawing in our freezers. (no power for a month!) People who, before Katrina, just worked and never got to know their neighbors had a chance to get to know those living around them and great friendships were born..

We have no one to blame but ourselves, No one made these people loot , Steal, Rob people at gunpoint . It is the thug mentality that all too many young black men subscribe too that is destroying our culture, And people like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are also to blame because they will not use their bully pulpit to condemn these actions but they instead make up excuses for it by blaming the white man for all of our ills. I am tired of hearing that lame excuse, It is time to stand up and hold ourselves accountable for bad behavior instead of trying to justify it. Now I know I will be attacked on here by some liberal as being a uncle tom or a sellout, Thats OK, I wear their scorn as a badge of honor

This is not a race issue. Every group has thugs and dopers and users and takers. and in turn every group has nice decent people that will care for their neighbors in time of need. In the rural country side the meth users will try to take from producers, but the producers will take care of the problem themselves. Stock up on food and supplies while you can. Others will need your help. It is not hoarding while there is still plenty around.

In many respects he is correct. In areas of the US that have been controlled by the leftist for decades the people are totally dependent on the government. Look at the way the people of New Orleans behaved after Katrina. Compare this to the way the people of Japan reacted. Then compare the way the people of Nashville reacted after last year’s devastating flood. They reacted like the way the people of Japan reacted not New Orleans. There were no riots here, we did not hold up signs begging the government for help. We helped each other and took care of things ourselves. Parts of New Orleans still have not been rebuilt and repaired after 5 and 1/2 years. Nashville is almost rebuilt to pre-flood condition in less than 1 year. What is the difference in New Orleans and Nashville? New Orleans wants the government to do everything for everybody. Nashville wants the government to get out of the way of the people.

I was in New Orleans when Kattrina hit. I saw a lot of people including myself looting stores. My friend and I went into a store where he worked part time that had a wall damaged. Everything that WAS on the shelves had been thrown onto the floor if it was not wanted by the first set of looters. Several hundred pounds of various foods and goods had been destroyed just for the pleasure it seemed. We salvaged around 200 cans of food, some cleaning supplies, 8 gallons of bleach, about ten cases of soda, as well as 9 cases and 15 quarts of beer. We used the beer to rinse the canned goods after we washed them in bleach. There just was NO water to drink. We gave away some of the food and traded some for smokes. When we left New Orleans, we gave what was left to three families around the corner from us because they were staying. If you ain‘t been in it don’t put down people for doing what they have to in order to survive. I can see trying to get food, medical and first aid supplies, water, and other NECESSITIES (even clothes and shoes if called for; BUT there was NO excuse for most of the types of looting that I saw. Definitely in that the liberal mindset has created areas of the United States whereby they become sour when things are difficult and they don’t get handouts. Liberals are now trying to rewrite history to make people think that it wasn’t their handouts that made people ungrateful. Though it was that after Hurricane Katrina people behaved badly, and though it was that after Hurricane Andrew people behaved badly- it was that after very bad ice storms that knocked out power for days and days in Kentucky that everyone came to each others aid. During the massive floods several years ago through the Dakotas and other states in the mid-west people came to each others aid without looting. I can fill up volumes with Americans coming to the aid of other Americans without looting. I can also fill up smaller texts of Americans behaving badly in different cases. The Liberals will say “Americans” behave badly, and the case really is that “A lot of Americans” behave badly during disasters but that isn’t all. Liberals want to build you into “Bad cattle”, and you ought not listen to them.

That is what happens when you create a me first, you owe me, entitlement society. The difference is the Japanese actually care about their country and I could see a Tea Party group acting the same way. So Bill, it’s the liberals you love that act the way you describe.

Also, note that when the govt of Japan told it’s citizens to evacuate that is what they did. They did not stay behind so that the MSM could film endless segments of them screaming on rooftops a la James Carville to rescue them because they are dyin’ down there. Japanese citizens still believe in and practice self-reliance which the progs here in the US have succeeded in eliminating from many segments of society.

      Right on the money.

Look at where the violence & looting happen. You didn’t see it during the Tennessee flooding last year, or in the 2004 Florida hurricanes. On the other hand, where have violence & looting always turned up? LA, New Orleans, Oakland, and all of the most Progressive cities.

I have food/water/ammo to last a long time in the event of a disaster…And yes, I will barricade myself in my home and shoot anyone trying to get in. Why? Because the vast majority of Americans can’t wipe their butt on their own and only take, take, take. And once they’ve taken all they can get from you, they’ll head off to find the next sucker…without so much as a thank you.

I do have several like-minded friends and relatives who know they’d be welcome in a heartbeat…but otherwise, you better be prepared for a fight.

Take the thugs who can’t feed themselves other than by stealing from others, the wimpy youth that can’t feed themselves other than by yelling “Mom! More Hotpockets please!”, the entitlement society that can’t feed themselves other than by waving their EBT/SNP cards in the air.

My only regret is that throughout life I have not learned a usable trade for when the fall comes. Those that know construction/plumbing/electrical/automotive/medicine will be easily able to earn their keep when food runs low…all I can offer is protection.

Admiral Yamamoto, once said this about America “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

Nowadays I think the correct phrase would be “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping baby, annoyed with having had his 12 hours of beauty sleep interrupted.”

silly, in the fly over states when there is massive floods where people lose everything they act well. seen whole towns kids and all filling sandbags. Will agree that some places people act bad, but most of the country helps their neighbors. Another fact is charitable donations difference between democrats and republicans

Well said marylou, yes with our disposable society we have more issues than playboy. I have to praise the Japanese people for their restraint. They are not looting, they are not pushing each other out of the way. They are working together as they know that is the only way to get things done efficiently.

It may be a difference of personal honor in the two nations. Unlike Japan, there doesn’t seem to be much reinforcement for it coming from any quarter in our country.

Wait a sec let’s not get too hasty about forming final opinions before ENCINOM and WHITETEAPARTY have a chance to weigh in…..They may just know things we are all ignorant of and why we see this kind of behavior. Like have you ever thought about this? Maybe just maybe the reason we are “thugs” is because of the rich wealthy people who just keep hordin’ all the good stuff. When disaster strikes it is after all their chance to right the wrong and get what‘s comin’ to them. I think we really need to place the blame squarely where it belongs. Evil rich and greedy people. If they just shared their wealth we wouldn’t see “thuggery” during disasters, but rather hand holding as we sang “Lean on me”. Liberalism is hardly to blame for this kind of behavior. I mean sure they want to erode the very foundations of what made America great, but that proves nothing !!!!!

The ‘ruffians and thugs’, seem to be mostly the people that Libs like Press want to give more govt aide. And even when they get it, it is not enough. Nor are they grateful….Like Obama will pay my mortgage, and get’s me my food and gas. And don’t forget the free phones and I-pads….When ‘disaster’ or ‘riots’ hit it‘s like ’free’ lunch time. Loot the stores, get your cigs, beer and booze, your TV and what ever else you can carry….Thanks Bill…

So true. I don’t think Japan has a large number of people on the government dole. They still believe in working for a living.

Everyone seems to forget the people in North and South Dakota during the blizzard that happened a short time after Karina. Marked difference than what happened in New Orleans. Same type of behavior as we see from the Japanese. So what makes the difference?

The loudmouth liberal brats are, unfortunately, the standout image that tarnishes all that is good about Americans.

Nobody remembers Hurricane Ike in 2008. It leveled Bolivar Peninsula, severely damaged West Galveston, even coming over the seawall, and horrendous, widespread damage in all of the Galveston bay area and Houston. 40% of houston homes were without electricity for a week or more, 15% for two weeks or more.

The reason nobody remembers it is because Houstonians pulled together, demonstrating kindness and respect much like what you see in Japan now. But that was a “non-event” and didn’t get plastered all over the National MSM news like all the hoodlums and heathens in New Orleans in 2005.

The Japanese people deem their culture sacrid, honorable and valuable. God bless them.

Sadly, civility, honor and value of human life in America will return only when the socialists, communists, bleeding-heart liberals and atheists are defeated and driven back to their underground lairs to hiss at each other their vile diatribes of hate.
