Libyan News Anchor Waves Gun On Air in Support of Gadhafi

With rebels closing in on toppling his regime stronghold in Tripoli, Libyan Leader Moammar Gadhafi’s supporters in the media have brandished their willingness to protect the man accused of massacring his own people. Al Jazeera footage of the spectacle:

“You will not take al-Libiyah channel. You won’t take Jamahiriyah channel, Shababiyah channel, Tripoli or all of Libya, and even those without a weapon are willing to be a shield in order to protect their colleagues at this channel. We are willing to become martyrs.”

The anchor is Hala Misrati, a star talk-show host on Libya state TV who warns rebels trying to oust Moammar Gadhafi that staffers at al-Libiyah would protect the capital and leader at all costs. Misrati leaped to fame in April when she railed against a Libyan woman who claimed to Western journalists she had been raped by Gadhafi militiamen, calling her a “liar” and suggesting she was a “whore.” On live TV, Misrati grilled an arrested journalist for an hour with all the doggedness of a secret police interrogator.

    Mr Obama, congradulations, the radical Islamist extremists of Libya have taken control.

    So now the major oil supplier of Western Europe is in their control, and will have ready access to the unlimited wealth of the petro dollars generated for their terrorist ideology…and soon enough will come the monsters of Sharia Law, and the Caliphate once again will arise.

    Arab spring now heads to the European Summer and shortly the American winter will be at hand as Mr Obama seeks to reshape the world for his particular brand of socialist-progressive nightmares.

      Snow Leopard Ah… Right you are. Someone called me today all excited because they thought Kadaffi and perhaps his son was killed. I asked .. Is this a good thing? No.. it is not. Just like the leader of Lybia,(our friend) Muburack being overtaken. They want to behead him and his sons. I have heard people talking of this Arab Spring like it is people tired of being oppressed and wanting to be free..yada yada yada. But in truth, hell is being unleashed. No one no knows,(save for a few) what trouble we are in..

      I think this one is a little to big for our vacation/golf addicted president. I think the full credit for this Libya mess falls squarely on the backs of our military/industrial monster/complex we let be created and refused to slap down many years ago…

      It feeds at the public trough when ever it wants, does what ever it wants and is ice watered twice daily by their best buds in the world… Wall Street and the international banksters. Gahdafi would not play ball and take their money. This pisssed them off… big time! Obama had nothing to do with it…except look pretty and sign what and where he was told, just like Bush and a host of others going way back.

      @ashestoashes, are you serious? Gadaffi is our friend like Mubarak was? Is that what they teach you people in school now? Were any of you alive when Reagan was president? I don’t care who takes out gadaffi, him going is a good thing. That is a fact, like it or not. Whatever takes over next may be just as bad, but they might not too, and gadaffi still got his justice regardless. Whether things improve there do or not, it is still good he is gone. Rooting for him is like rooting for Idi Amin or Pol Pot. Who I‘m sure you don’t even know anything about. Let me say it this way, rooting for him is like rooting for a muslim version of stalin. Do they still teach about stalin in the schools? Do you think he is a saint and a friend, too? I can’t stand obama, but this was a good thing, regardless of who did it, period.

    I don’t like Ghadhafi or the guy in Syria but right now they stand between the brotherhood and a new caliphate, so I’m hard pressed to pick a side. I say we need to get out, pull NATO out and things will work out on their own.

    If you want to know where the next war will be, just look at who doesnt want a Islamic caliphate and youll have your answer. seems like all the places where we have intervened and toppled the leadership has been countries that either had military and or oil interest, or countries where the leaders werent in favor of a caliphate,

    What of the Rebels who kill innocent civilians because they side with the govt? Over 1300 dead in Tripoli in the past 12 hours. 5000 injured. Peace talks are on the table, but Nato keeps pushing for Gaddafi out?

    This is a civil war and we are enabling NATO to choose the winner AND encourage a take over by rebel group that very well may be Al-queda linked.

    This is the concept of Blowback in full swing. We enable a Rebel force to take over a city and a country and we may very well have given Al-queda a country.
