Lieberman: Colombian Secret Service Scandal Includes Agent at the White House’s Hotel

Last week, Glenn Beck asked if it was possible that the Colombian Secret Service scandal might have extended to anyone staying at the president’s hotel or even the White House staff. He’s one step closer to an answer.
According to several news reports, a twelfth agent staying at the same hotel as the president, the Hilton, brought a woman back to his hotel just days before Obama arrived.
Sen. Joe Lieberman confirmed the news to CBS on “Face the Nation.”
“The Hilton is significant because that’s where President Obama was going to stay,” Lieberman told Bob Schieffer. “Now we don‘t know at this point that what the twelfth agent is being charged with and why he’s been put administrative leave.”
“Now, you’re into the hotel where the president of the United States was going to stay,” Lieberman added. “And it just gets more troubling.”
“To act as these people did in Cartagena as if they were college kids on spring break, it is reprehensible,” he said.
Liebermann, however, wasn’t sure if anyone from the White House staff (either the Communications Agency or the White House Office of Advance) was involved in the incident, as Sen. Chuck Grassley has wondered.

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 5:17pmI, too, am wondering what the end result will be of the SS scandal. I’ll bet Duh One will replace them with his own civilian army. He’ll claim he needs people he can trust to have his back.

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 12:16pmThe “secret service” is no longer “secret”. Seriously, this latest incident of corruption is merely the tip of the iceberg. It speaks of how deeply the morals of this country have eroded and taken over every aspect of American life. It no longer seems “fashionable” to at least make herculean efforts to retain our own person honesty and trustworthiness. When men/women who are are supposed to be dedicated and have personally pledged to protect the life of a president by sacrificing their own lives if needs be can no longer be trusted to do so, what does that say about our country’s morals? We have surely entered a period of gradual decay, decline and death for the ideals and beliefs upon which this country was founded. Yet, it seems the current president condones it all by his own personal actions. I am profoundly saddened by this realization.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 6:12pmHave any one else noticed that the Pres’ does not start his little fireside chats with “My fellow Americans” but with “Hello everyone?” The CEO of any corporation sets the tone of those under him/her. Looking back to his initial campaign and early in his administration, he talked to the President of Mexico telling him about guns crossing the border to the drug lords, and sure enough we find out about Fast and Furious. He talked about electricity and fuel prices needing to raise, and sure enough they have. He talked about building a “civilian force that was equal to the military,” could this be the reason he uses to eliminate the SS and establish this new force? One that would be loyal to him personally and not to the Constitution and people of the USA. He wants to have control of the Civil Defense Alert system, the Internet, and now every Cell Phone. I ask, why? I can see it now, the night of the election in November and it is not going his way, he decides that it is time to declare a national emergency and shuts down all broadcasts, Cell phones and the Internet.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 4:35pmThere is definitely a discipline and morale issue going on in the SS. It would be curious to know how long this has been going on. It is hard for me to believe that it is a new occurence, however I wouldn‘t be surprised if it hasn’t escalated under the Obummer menstration (bloody mess). We are in more doo doo than I imagined if the SS can’t stay disciplined and professional. Their charge is to protect the president regardless who it is and their possible contempt for Obummer is not an acceptable excuse.Integrity is a rare comodity any where in our society or the world for that matter. I’m not sure it has ever existed among men, but it is no longer a noble endeavor. That’s the scary part.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 1:37pmFrom what we can see, read and hear, it is “the culture” in the present administration. Barack Obama has hired and appointed a bunch of Chicago thugs, green nut cases, communists and socialists to his staff, cabinet and branches of the government while spending money like it grows on trees. What do you expect then? Remove the head from the “snake” in November and it all goes away.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 1:08pmThis continues to be interesting. Now there are stories that state if the SS only had female agents and minorities attached to this detail, would the bawdy behavior not occurred. True…the SS hired hookers, but the addition of minority and females means the same here as it does for integrated units in the military, specifically that the agents would have paired up with themselves. Incidents of this kind accrue over a period of time, and this latest discovery is only the latest occurrence…we will not know, but I am willing to bet it was common practice. We hold the SS in high esteem without knowing the inner workings of the organization…this esteem will be maintained in how they handle this failure in supervisory and individual conduct. As to the effect on the POTUS…when you have no regard for your boss, you have no regard for how your conduct reflects on your boss. Good character still counts and must flow freely from the top to get the same from the bottom-up.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 8:33amI don‘t know how long this stuff has been going on but I’d be willing to bet that Secret Service members have little respect for the current White House occupant and therefore are straying from the “straight and narrow.”
