From Israel to Texas. That’s where Glenn Beck took his message of standing with Israel last week. And he wrapped it up with a rousing speech in Dallas (Arlington, to be specific) to the congregation of High Point Church on Sunday.
The church hosted a special “With Israel We Stand” event featuring Beck and prominent Christian historian David Barton. For Beck, it gave him a chance to discuss his mission of reclaiming the human rights movement — a movement he believes has been hijacked by activists who have an anti-Israel agenda.
Beck opened by talking about how there can be no rights without responsibilities, and used his personal faith journey as an example:
He ended his talk by calling for a new human rights movement, one based on personal responsibility that ends the “lies” and that replaces the “parody” that is the current movement.
“We must understand that you cannot have human rights movement without a human responsibility movement,” he declared:
For the full audio of Beck’s speech, visit the podcast section of the High Point Church website.
You can read and print off the Declaration of Rights & Responsibilities mentioned in the speech here.

I am a Christian and if what we are interested in here is the truth then you can’t ignore the fact that Glenn (who I love to listen to) is in the cult of Mormonism and they do not believe that Jesus Christ is God. And a supposed Bible believing church let a member of a cult preach (expound on what the Bible teaches) in their pulpit.
Sorry, Mormonism is heresy, there isn’t ANY other way to look at it. Either you are really interested in the truth or you are not.
Read quick before The Blaze deletes this comment, because apparently they aren’t interested in the truth about Mormonism either.

So far I have not heard Glenn cite any writings from the book of mormon. So far I have not heard anything that is antithetical to the Bible. I am not Mormon. I do not agree with the mormon theology. Really? I just have to claim Jesus is my savior (which I have) and then I can pick up signs of hate and interfere with funerals of soldiers and get on the express lane to heaven I guess (because works don’t matter, I’m saved by grace). Sorry, I hope I don’t end up anywhere near where those jokers are going. They wouldn’t recognize Jesus whom they profess to believe in if he was standing in front of them (oh just like the pharisees, scribes and sadducees in Christ’s time). Get the beam out of your own eye before you start going after other’s beliefs. You who are indoctrinated by paid clergy who have an obvious agenda to keep membership to keep their coffers full. Mormon‘s don’t have paid clergy. You hypocritical protestants who claim Mormon‘s aren’t Christian yet claim the Catholic are, even though your past had revolted from their theology or you split off from each of your own because of theological differences. One Lord, one faith, one baptism, not 150 different ones.

I was raised Methodist then went to Babtist then to Nazerene because all those weren`t giving any truths about God. Been to Catholics and various others. Never had I heard jesus was God till the 80`s. Now days all I hear from christiandom is that jesus is God. Many of those who go to all these churches dispute me when I say they are in a religion that thinks jesus is God. They don`t even know they are saying that. There`s only one God that no man has ever seen. Jesus was seen on earth. You shall worship the lord your God and him only shall you serve. Jesus told his deciples not to worship him. 1 Col. 1;15 states he was the firstborn of all creations and because of him and through him all other things were created. God had no creation. Jesus states that he can do nothing on his own initiative but ,only because of the one who sent him. The angels never said Jesus was God but, that he will be Great and will be called the son of the most high. He never claimed to be God but, the son of God. He was sent to the earth by God and by means of the only begotten son God, was with mankind. He was a Mighty god but, not the Almighty God. John 17;3 explains in a prayer to God that God had sent him. John 8;54 If he glorifies himself the glory is nothing. It is my father that glorifies me. Watch yourselves before you critcize beliefs.

But I have to give them credit for how well their followers know the bible, their dedication to mission work and the role their faith plays in their life. There really needs to be more debate between the denominations. There are a lot of false teachings and interpretations out there. I was just reading on GlenBeck.com that the left media is beginning a campaign to attack Glen by going after his religion. We can expect to see infiltrators on this site who are trying to sidetrack the discussion by continually bringing up the Mormon faith as a reason to disregard Glen’s message.
Think about it. These guys are on “Glens” site saying “don’t pay attention to anything Glen says. You have to ask yourselves why these people are here, if they don’t want to read the stories.
They are simply left-wing saboteurs. Please let us refrain from responding to them. That IS what they want. To sabotage the site and it’s message. They are most likely sitting in their basement in their undershorts and getting paid by George Soros to stir up trouble. Try to ignore them.

All I do know is that the Mormons take care of their own businessmen financially…that’s just one of my problems with the elitist Mitt Romney. I do know that they also go by the Bible, but there’s just this whole other addition of which I am just not interested. God the Father and His Son Jesus/Yeshua is all we need to be concerned about. The Holy Bible is the only book we need. I think that Joseph Smith spun a fanciful tale.

Posted on August 30, 2011 at 12:20pm@javasport I find it interesting how you obfuscate the argument with irrelevant information. The Westboro Baptist Church and the Catholic is not of my concern in this argument. What is of concern is that a member of a cult who does not profess Christ as God is speaking in a church that is supposed to believe in the Bible. That should be of great concern to the Christians on this discussion blog, but very few seem to be slightly bothered about that. Are we interested in truth as believers or are we interested in a lets all hold hands universalism?
If Glenn were interested in the truth of his religion, which is at the basis of one’s being, then he would thoroughly investigate the man Joesph Smith and see the serious deficiencies in his Book of Mormon and his interpretation of the Bible. It is there for all to see, just look.

Your leaders have taught that salvation comes by faith and works. If this is true, then why did Joseph Smith insert the word “alone” into Romans 3:28 of his Inspired Version (a.k.a. the Joseph Smith Translation) of the Bible? (It reads, “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith alone without the deeds of the law.”)
Joseph Smith inserted the word not in Romans 4:5 of the Inspired Version so that it reads, “…who justifieth not the ungodly…“ Are you ”godly”? If so, how did you get that way? If not, doesn’t that mean you are not justified before God? Why would God need to justify a godly person anyway?

Posted on August 29, 2011 at 10:58amThe Nephites weren’t the ancient “Mormon” church. The Jews of the Bible weren’t the ancient Mormons. The Christians of the New Testament weren’t the ancient Mormons. The Mormon church, as we know it, begun in the 1800s as a fully restored church of Jesus Christ, with ALL of the principles and ordinances.
Throughout history various parties of scripture have had parts of this fullness, but only after Christ came to earth was the Law of Moses fulfilled and a new “Christian” law introduced (including baptisms for the dead as is discussed in the NT), only after Christ’s visitation to the Nephites after his resurrection was the gospel had among them and the Law of Moses fulfilled. Unfortunately, they didn’t stay righteous very long (see 4 Nephi to Mormon).
You ask a million questions, but are a prime example of one who does NOT really want to know the answers to every single one of them. Answers exist. You just need to be willing to listen with an open heart & mind, like Glenn did and like millions more have.
http://www.mormon.org is an excellent place to start looking for answers.
Fact: [On average] Today 742 people worldwide will join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tomorrow 742 more people will, and on Wednesday 742 more people will, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday all the same. Then next week it’ll repeat exactly the same…

In Matthew 16:18 Jesus speaking to Peter ” Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” to say the church went into apostasy in in direct conflict with what Jesus said. Was Jesus wrong or is the Mormon church wrong? The test for a true prophet is found in Deuteronomy 18:20-22. This scripture does not allow for one false prophecy. This scripture teaches that a prophet must be tested by checking his prophecies.. Many false prophets have led moral lives. One false prophecy (even if some true prophecies are given) and that person is a false prophet. It does not matter how sincere he or his followers are. It does not matter how often his followers pray or what feelings they seem to receive in answer to their prayers. He is a false prophet. You only have to look to your D&C to find the many false prophecies of Joseph Smith. It does not matter how many people convert to Mormonism, that in it’s self does not make the church true. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and by your standards it would be the true religion.

While I struggle with the views of the majority of the religious world, the efforts of some persons claiming to represent God to tear down the faith of those who hold differing views seems the most form of hypocrisy. Posted on August 29, 2011 at 2:36pmThe argument that the MORMONS are not “True” Christians creates a dichotomy of opinion. I have found some references in early Christian History books that are taught in Colleges today that there have been through out time believers that have been contacted by an angelic being called “Moroni” in one book of 1st Century Christian history and prevailing Doctrine written by Eusibieus of Pamphilla in what was in the 1st Century Roman Occupied Israel or Palestine. So the ideas of espoused by those that followed the Moroni teachings were of the mind of multiple wives and that sexuall freedom was allowed under the Moroni teachings. Now whether Joseph Smith had access to books or other items of learning to hear that kind of story it is immaterial.
And the Early christians while under Roman Rule created the Baptism of the Dead because they feared that those who were not Baptised would not be accepted by God. It is a Doctrine of the Baptist Theology (read Christian History books).
Plus Jesus even admonished the Disciple John I believe, when he came up to Jesus complaining that those outside the group of followers were healing the sick and doing the same acts that Jesus was doing. And Jesus said that if they were doing his work and the results followed then they could not deny his teachings as some would try to do… I believe that is in the book of John during his going to Jerusalem for Passover and his Crucifixion.
Believe in the price Jesus paid and be saved.

When speaking of the Book of Mormon explain the golden tablets that Smith said he found. Also where can these tablets be seen.
Question, in Christianty we believe that when a person confesses he is a sinner and ask Jesus to forgive hime and to come into his heart and be his Lord and savior that that person when he dies goes to heaven. Why is it that only Temple Mormons through a private ceramony are the only ones that go to the third heaven. Correct me if I am wrong but does not the Book of Morman teach that there are different levels of heaven that a person will go to after death. The Bible teaches God does not hold one christian to a higher degree than the other, that all have fallen short of the glory of God, and it is that Jesus died for our sins, and there is nothing we can do, no works on earth that will save us, only the blood of christ.

I will correct you the Book of Mormon says nothing about the “third heaven”. The Bible however does, even the names of two of them are given.
2 Corinthians 12:2

The criticism, legalism and arguements will matter not in eternity. There will be no denominations in heaven, so does it really matter? All the Bible says in John 3:16 is that “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son…whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life”. The arguements are brought on by legalism, which is created by man. God’s Grace is more than sufficient. So, yes, can’t we all just get along?

Posted on August 29, 2011 at 1:45pmGOLD COIN & ECONOMIC NEWS, I have much love and appreciation for your fervor by which you hold on to the “truth” as you understand it. And there lies the nature of the problem. You ignorantly argue on truths based in what is known as Selective Observation. It is only natural, and something that can be overcome. In the words of Ian Rand “The truth or falsehood of all of man’s conclusions, inferences, thought and knowledge rests on the truth or falsehood of his definitions.” This extends to how man translates the Old & New Testament autographs alike. It also extends to our means of our philosophies of truth, knowledge, and beliefs. This is the heart of the study of Epistemology. And thus the bull-yard tango begins. I am not going to go as far as some of my Deist friends in their faith, but I will say that based on the tone of the words you chose and how I interpreted them, we may want to consider the fact that the “truth” that you quote from were voted on by men with the same naturally narcissistic shortcomings of man during the Council of Nicaea. The fact remains that if you believe that the “Word of God” that you quote to condemn a fellow is in fact flawless and complete you must also adhere to all “truths” found in them. With that I refer to Romans 9:11-24.

Many comments bashing Glenn’s mormonism are out of order and hateful. I know that Glenn’s message is for the times we are now experiencing….I’m a christian and have been to Israel….I too stand with Glenn as he takes his stand for a little country given to a special people to bring glory to his name….The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is who Glenn is referencing here…not a prophet or sage of Mormon faith…The triune God….His Son our Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. Read the love chapter 1 Cor. 13 and you will understand who Glenn really is….a man in need of three things that can’t be acquired by any deeds capable of mankind; “Faith, Hope and Charity”. If other means of salvation are just as good, then the gate is large also. Even Atheist are occasionally found to be co-belligerents with Christians on the subject of abortion. That only means they are right for the wrong reason. Saving the country can be an important common goal, but it is not to become a goal that is beyond and more important than the Great Commission. Then people with lesser understanding change the words, or it is lost through translation, many times to fit their own understanding and there is the possibility of printing errors. Really? Could you please answer the questions I asked?
I find it rude when I ask a person questions and they ignore them. It’s as if to say “you’re too stupid to answer” especially when they then extrapolate my position to something inconsistent with my obvious position and amplified by the same questions. Thanks.
Question 1:
Lastly, it never ceases to amaze me how people can believe that God could create the universe and everything in it but He was so inept that He could not keep His Word unadulterated. Really?
- From what your reply says it seems you do believe that God is inept and despite His omnipotence and omniscience, he could not foresee the potential of man trying to change His Word and He was powerless to stop it.
Question 2:
That’s what Mormons believe?
Question 3:
Joseph Smith was able to do for God, what God and Jesus could not?
…
I always thought the spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12) would always enable us to identify His true Word from that which
…is untrue.
It’s pretty apparent from early manuscripts that His Word has remained consistent. In fact, though it’s probably prohibited to Mormons, Josh McDowell’s examination of early manuscripts shows how consistent His Word has remained as compared to all other literature. It is unlike the Book of Mormon which was being edited and correctly relatively quickly after it’s writing to edit out racism as just one example.

Posted on August 30, 2011 at 12:00pm@Haybusa – I did answer your questions. God is capable of keeping his word unadulterated, but for some reason he allows us humans to work with the agency He gives us and many times the truth is lost. Hence my point to show the pattern of God how the truth has been lost many times and God called a prophet to restore it. While the full gospel is contained in the Bible, many plain and precious things were removed from the Bible. This has caused great division among Christians, they do not all teach the same thing. Yes it is true that we should listen and teach with the Spirit as stated in 1 Corinthians Chaper 2. So why the division? Why baptists, protestants ect?
I bet he has the original manuscripts as well? If not how can he give an honest verification of their authenticity to prove that nothing in them has changed? Also by saying this man was able to verify that none of God’s word was lost from the original manuscripts is making this man a seer appointed by God to verify nothing was lost. Is this your claim for this man? If so we need to study and pray about his teachings to see if they are true, if not his examinations are not even worth my time.

–See my response to Eradicator about the false premise that God is crippled by man’s free will to prevent corruption of His Word.
He gives us and many times the truth is lost…
- Do you have any evidence outside the Church of Mormon to prove this point or is this merely the church‘s position on the issue to justify it’s changes?
This has caused great division among Christians, they do not all teach the same thing. … So why the division? Why baptists, protestants ect?
- You conveniently left out why Mormons. Just another division if Mormons are actually christian. I need not human claims to understand what a true christian is and is not. I have God’s Word and he blesses me with discernment. I can see good fruit for what it is and bad for what it also is. By secular standards, I can place no blame for “good deeds” on most Mormons. But God acknowledges that even evil men essentially do good deeds. I discern on a spiritual level and spreading false messages about God are NOT good fruit.

If not how can he give an honest verification of their authenticity to prove that nothing in them has changed? Also by saying this man was able to verify that none of God’s word was lost from the original manuscripts …
- You may want to acquaint yourself with the ancient practices associated with manuscript copying. It’s alluded to within the Bible itself with “jots and tittles” (Matthew 5). See the standards for the Jews @ http://www.simpletoremember.com/articles/a/torahaccuracy/
- “The first complete copies of single New Testament books appear around 200 [AD].” With the original NT books being written between 50-100 AD. None of these are perfect copies of each but their MESSAGE is unadulterated even nearly 2,000 years later.
- With regards to original manuscripts, where’s your original plates and why changes to the Book of Mormon if you have them?
- And the critical thing you seem to miss about how do you determine if the Message is true, its called spiritual gifts.
Also if nothing was lost why is a “restitution of all things needed?”
Report Post »Acts 3: 20-21
- Quick question before answering. Can you tell me by which standard Mormons cite this so fallible New Testament because it seems arbitrary which parts they accept?
- Why is restitution needed? His Creation was allowed to be corrupted by free will unlike His Message. This allowed man to fall and see the consequence of original and persistent sin and to freely choose or deny God.

Being more than just a spiritual creature, I like to appeal my arguments to those who also operate on a more logical/rational/scientific basis. Wiki has a good article about issues one need to be able to reconcile if they want to even consider the supposed veracity of the BoM.

All we can do in cases like this is to speak the truth, which I did, and pray that God changes their heart. But, we all need to do this together, standing like an army against evil.

When he turned to God and became obedient and listened to God – things changed in his life.

All religions can not hold hands because most are the Traditions of Men and Not of God! I’ve known several Mormons most are good people but their church is another matter. It is the mixing of the AKJV 1611 Bible, Masonry, The Book Morman and Angel Worship. They say they are Christian but add all the other baggage and Traditions of MEN to it. I really wonder if any of them have read Deuteronomy 4:2-4 where Moses said… “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Your eyes have seen what the Lord did because of Baal-peor: for all the men that followed Baal-peor, the Lord thy God hath destroyed them from among you. But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God are alive every one of you this day.

Posted on August 29, 2011 at 12:36pm@Pastor Ray – Most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that I know are very very very familiar with this scripture, thanks for pointing out that this appears in a place other than the book of Revelations. Which by the way was not written last chronologically. A few questions.
1. Do you believe that Jesus is the Savior of the World or just of the people of Judah?
2. If you do believe that He is the Savior of the World, why is it hard to believe that others on a different continent would know of Him?
3. If others on another continent knew Him, why would they not right their testimonies of Him?
4. If Jesus is the only way back to God, why would God neglect those on other continents for thousands of years with no knowledge of the ONLY way back to Him.
These are honest questions, you can either mock and scoff, or you can explain this to me. Currently I believe He did not neglect the people on other continents and that there are probably even more books that share the workings of God among other people.

In response to your questions to PastorRay…
Romans 2:12-16
God holds people into account based on what they know. At a minimum, regardless of a lack of exposure to God or Jesus, we have a conscience to guide us. If that is all we have (the isolated pygmy example) then that is what we will be judged by. If we are an extremely “learned” holy man (pastor, priest, whathaveyou) then our standard of judgment is much, much higher.
Our actions are a reflection of our amount of faith. Inconsistent piety would be a reflection of weak faith while near blameless piety would be a reflection of near-perfect faith. That pygmy that never knew God or Jesus but always obeyed his righteous conscience by being loving, selfless, etc. will surely find Heaven moreso than any man who claims Jesus their Savior and is learned in the Word but whose works are selfish and do nothing to bring glory to God.
And while many can claim they worship God and Jesus, Jesus warns in Matthew 7:21-23 that not all who claim God as their own, or perform miracles in His name, are saved.
Lastly, it never ceases to amaze me how people can believe that God could create the universe and everything in it but He was so inept that He could not keep His Word unadulterated. Really? That’s what Mormons believe? Joseph Smith was able to do for God, what God and Jesus could not? I always thought the spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12) would always enable us to identify His true Word from that which

Posted on August 29, 2011 at 10:04amTo WHKELL. We wonder why Christians are not impressing the world and why people aren’t running through our doors every Sunday. This Restoring Courage movement isn‘t about Glenn’s religion. For too long, we as christians have wasted so much time fighting over doctrine and who’s right and wrong while evil has run amuck in our country and around the world. The fact is sir, or madam, WHO ELSE IS STANDING UP FOR ISRAEL?? Can you tell me that? Can we just for one moment stop fighting amongst each other and focus on the task at hand? Are we His hands, eyes, feet in our world? Do we see a need and meet it? I’m no great theologian, but none of us has it 100% right. Glenn, a Mormom, is doing what we as evangelicals should have been doing the entire time. Telling the truth, not giving a darn who it offends and standing up for those with no defender, meaning Israel and the Jewish people. If you want to make yourself out to be God and judge, you go right ahead. Jesus never called us to judge anyone. “Then shall the world know you are My disciple if you LOVE one another.” You don‘t agree with Beck’s religion? Great neither do I. I pray for him daily and leave it to God to reveal His truth to Glenn. But I will stand with Glenn in defense of Israel and in defense of our founders and waking America up to what’s ahead. So if that makes me a sellout, so be it.

Posted on August 29, 2011 at 2:44pmCTina7799 you are right on in your post. Thank you. For too long evangelicals have been at each others throats doctrinally and have put our civic duty on the back burner. We have failed to speak into our culture and government the moral and ethical principals of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We have stood by and let the liberal/secular humanists and pluralists run the debate all the way into the end zone. We have forgotten just who Christ gave the keys of His kingdom to. We’ve lost sight of the “Church” as the universal body of Christ and the bride of Christ. Our petty legalistic denominational differences have seperated us from each other, which is exactly where the devil and liberals want us to be. Good Lord, people, we are living in a world where if you scramble an eagles egg you face 30 years in prison but a human egg fertilized in the womb is okay to murder!! Human life means nothing to these people. We need to stop fighting and stand together. As for Glenn’s Morman beliefs, I will not judge him. God looks at the heart and man looks at the outward appearence. We may all be in for a big surprise when we get to heaven because of who is there and who isn’t. As for standing with Israel, if you call yourself a Christian and have a basic understanding of the Bible, that one’s a no brainer….of course we stand with Israel.

Last I checked, there is but one church of Jesus, His Church (not implying Catholic, Mormon, or any other denomination but simply that body of Christians HE would call his own). That being the case, any true Christian has a duty to his brother (sister). If we see one stumble, we should be there to help. If we see a brother leave the narrow path for the broad road, God demands we speak up. What kind of Christian on the Day of Judgment would want to face God, and when asked, “When you saw your brother led astray, what did you do?” And then have to answer, “Lord, I did not want to be divisive, I maintained my silence as he walked the road to destruction.” (Matthew 7)
Glenn frequently speaks about the truth having no agenda. He is right. I would ask those who tell others to be silent about the truth what their agenda is? Why is it Mormons seek silence from those they disagree with? Why will Mormon missionaries remain silent on topics that are outside orthodox Christianity (becoming gods of their own planets, God is Adam, Jesus is Satan’s brother, etc.) when questioned? If the truth has no agenda, then silencing truth is an agenda. Which agenda is being kept secret with silence?
True Christians share all of God’s Word unashamedly. Why, if Mormon‘s have God’s Word, are they silent with aspects of it? And if God gave Joseph Smith the “final word,“ why the changes since his ”revelation?” Polygamy? Blacks in the priesthood? Changes from 1830 to

Report Post »Hayabusa
Posted on August 30, 2011 at 2:15am@Eradicator
You presume free-will means freedom to act on that will. If an omnipotent God declared a spot on the earth to be free of man’s presence and intended it to be free of that presence, for example, man could choose to go against God’s Will and be guilty of that sin without God allowing him to actually violate that declaration. We are judged not only for our actual actions but the desires of our heart to commit sin.
A man has the free will to systematically change God’s Word and once he decides to act on it is guilty of sin, but free will does not tie God’s hands and force God to allow a man to be able to fulfill that desire. God hardens hearts, softens hearts, and in other way interferes with or imposes on man.
Short answer: man has the free will to try and corrupt the Bible but God has the right and power to decisively confound that effort without violating free will. It makes no sense for God to allow His Word to be corrupted for the sake of free will at the cost of damnation to potentially millions of misled but well-meaning folks. Nor does it make sense for God to allow His Word to be corrupted only to send a messenger yet again to perfectly write down His Message only to be corrupted yet again. The Book of Mormon last very few years before edits were necessary and changes became accepted. You really think God is inept and powerless against the free will of man?

I suppose you really believe you are “contending for the faith once delivered”, and “doing God service” (as the Lord Jesus warned the apostles about their persecutors), and are concerned that souls are being unduly influenced away from the truth of the gospel; so it’s pointless to attempt to dissuade. (You really believe its not hate but love, and not flesh but the Spirit of God that is moving you.)
