Lightning Startles Christie Adversary on Live TV

A lightning strike sent New Jersey State Senate President Stephen Sweeney scrambling on live TV Thursday when it hit 20 feet from where he was being interviewed.

Sweeney was talking about Gov. Chris Christie’s line-item veto of the state budget and ducked off camera when the crack sounded, NJ.com reported. He composed himself and continued the interview.

Local Fox reporter Bruce Gordon, speaking to Sweeney from the studio, appeared equally startled.

    As far as false associations go, this one is entertaining. Lightning and thunder did not occur because a politician was talking about an opponent; thinking like that should be left to the climate change idiots.

      The comments about God showing His hand with lightning are in jest. No one here believes that God actually targeted Sweeny. It is just fun to say it. So you Libs who are overreacting to the “God” comments need to realize that you are just making yourselves look bad.

    That was freaking AWESOME!!! Oh Lordy wouldn‘t that be great if a big ol’ bolt of lightning would be a near miss next time (gag) the President (gag) made his next lie filled speech in the rose garden. Then the presidential seal would burst into flames and flies would crawl all over Obama’s face with rats scurrying about. Now THAT would be epic!

    as a new jersey resident, i must first say i am a christie supporter. but i have to say, steve sweeney is a paradox. he is just as likely to support the governor as he is to oppose him. i say we could use more politicians, republican and democrat, like steve sweeney, at the national level. do the research on steve sweeney and you might just agree with me.

    Any of you ever been near a lightning strike? I bet more than half of you would crap your pants if if this happened to you. Especially near all that camera and sound equipment. Afterward you would run for cover at the slightest chance of foul weather.
    I don’t care who this Sweeny clown is. Christie could use a scare like this too. He might crap out a few extra pounds!
