Two Boston-bound JetBlue airplanes were struck by lightning as a storm descended on Bean Town last night. The planes landed safely and no one was injured.
The Daily Mail reports:
They say lightning never strikes twice.
But passengers flying to Boston last night had a rough ride after two planes landed after being hit during a storm over a half-hour period.
The two JetBlue aircraft landed safely at Boston’s Logan International Airport in Massachusetts last night after a big storm of heavy thunder and lightning.
Nobody was injured on either flight.
Flight 446 from Tampa, Florida, landed just after 9:21pm on Friday after the pilots reported a smell of smoke in the cockpit as they headed towards the airport.
The crew did not explain what had happened to the Airbus A320 plane to the 82 people on board until after it had safely landed, said passenger Matt Schwartz, 36.
‘There was a lot of turbulence’ during the descent, he told the Boston Globe.
Flight 1328 from Baltimore, Maryland, was also struck by lightning and made a safe landing at 9:47pm. The Embraer 190 plane had 90 people on board.
