Limbaugh Laughs at CBS‘ Leslie Stahl Calling It ’Orwellian‘ for KSM to Be Forced to Drink ’Ensure’

The interview between CBS’ Leslie Stahl and former Director of the National Clandestine Service Jose Rodriguez set to air on “60 Minutes” this Sunday has Rush Limbaugh laughing already.

A clip from the interview features the two talking about the treatment of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) — the 9/11 mastermind who was captured in 2003 and taken to Guantánamo Bay. Along with water boarding and sleep deprivation, another form of treatment of Guantánamo prisoners includes dietary manipulation. For KSM, this meant the drink Ensure. Stahl says ”What, his Ensure? You mean like people in the hospital who will eat that stuff?“ Rodriguez called dietary manipulation ”part of these dire techniques.“ Stahl called it ”Orwellian stuff.”

Limbaugh laughs over this exchange, saying “These liberal newspeople can‘t believe he’s forced to drink Ensure. That’s torture to them.” Limbaugh goes on to explain a time when he was in the hospital and given Ensure for its nutrient value. He says:

For those of you who don’t know what Ensure is, it’s a dairy-based beverage that’s loaded with calories and nutrients, primarily for cancer patients who can’t eat.  It is a compassionate product.  It’s a product designed to keep people alive.

      and the most treacherousness part of all is when they told KSM after he finished drinking is: BEFORE WE GAVE IT TO YOU, WE DIDN’T SHAKE WELL!!!!!! MU-HA-HA-HA-HA (evil laugh)
      wow. i can’t believe our government was so evil that we would force someone to drink Ensure to save his life. terrible.

      i bet it was done to give Ensure profits. THATS WHY WE SHOULD TAX THE RICH!! gosh darn it corporations, profiting from torture.

      P.S. if you cant taste the dripping sarcasm, you REALLY need to keep taking Leslie Stall at her word: torture by Ensure is “Orwellian”

      I find it odd that this is an issue for the progressives. Where are they when it comes to abortion being torture to the fetus especially when it is a saveable baby further along. What about the babies that are still alive after an abortion? Does that show respect for life? They think BHO is a hero for killing Bin Laden, what about doing it in front of his family? Isn’t that torture for the family ? Not that I am a upset thate was finally killed. (Although I would have preferrd him to have been captured.) If he had been captured since they revel in his death, would they want him to give our government information about future atacks here in American soil? If so , and if he were uncooperative and they knew a plan was in the works,how would they suggest we get the information if it meant saving thousands of lives here? They talk out of the side of their mouths, excusing their actions yet determined to continue the constant bashing of Bush. I wonder if lets say their loved one were killed on 9/11 how they would feel? Or to what lengths they would go to maybe get information if they had the opportunity from someone who had killed or taken one of their loved ones. Would they even bother to offer to give them ensure? Uhmmmmm, doubt it.

    When my jaw was broken I consumed anything that would fit in a straw. Ensure, Carnation instant Breakfast, my roommate’s pizza.

    Torture, pure torture, for four months. Is there obama money out there that covers this??????

    I think they‘re used to being fed their little tiny portions of larks tongues in aspic at restaurant Masa and wouldn’t know how to open a bottle of Ensure if they were given a week to learn how to twist the top off. The lameness of elite liberals is amply displayed in their ignorance on how to feed themselves. And when they actually attempt to imitate the chefs special from Per Se, they make even bigger fools of themselves in the process.

      {on a side note, my youngest is a picky eater too and Ensure actually has some great flavors/tastes. He likes the Old Fashioned Vanilla the best although the Very Berry is a treat every now and then} AT over $7 per 6pk it’s a stretch on my food dollar…but, the kid doesn’t eat anything else anyway!

    If KSM’s dreams were to come true we would be forced to do a lot more than drink a nutritious, albeit, bland, product.

    It is telling to see how quickly the left will take on the cause of such a pathetic life form, just because KSM and the left currently have a shared enemy, US. Both the left and KSM have incentive to see US right now as evil and wrong.

    Can’t we just send them (the terrorists and the leftists) to a penal colony somewhere? It worked with Australia, and now, only a couple of centuries later, were friends!
