Limbaugh Launches Own Line of Conservative…Iced Tea

Limbaugh Launches Own Line of Conservative...Iced Tea

Rush Limbaugh has a reach that extends to many political circles. In fact, his daily reach into America’s homes, cars, and workplaces is unquestioned, as he hosts the country’s number one radio show. But now, he’s reaching into your refrigerator.

On radio today, Rush announced a new product that may be somewhat unexpected: conservative iced tea. What can be expected, however, is that the drinks have a clever name: Two if By Tea. Fox Nation explains:

After teasing it for a few days, Rush Limbaugh made a major announcement on his show this afternoon. He’s launching “Two If By Tea,” what he calls “the best” sweet tea you’ll ever drink. A picture of “Rush Revere” adorns the bottle, “sounding the warning the liberals are coming.”

“We are doing this for the single reason that we love tea, and we want to share it with you,” Rush explained.

“The shrink wrap is a work of art,” Rush said, “you’ll save it…along with the bottles.”

Part of the profits will go to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.

The bottles are only available in packs of 12, and you’ll have to purchase them direct from Rush — so no worry about fighting over it at the grocery store.

A quick glance at the Two if By Tea website shows your options:

If you want a good tasting tea go out and see if Yerba Santa grows around you. It‘s a real common weed in the foothills of the Sierras and is so sweet you don’t need any sweetener. The missionaries thought it so healthful they gave it it’s name. Yerba Mate is pretty good too from south america but it needs some sweetener since it’s a bit bitter. Oh yeah and while yer out foraging for the Yerba Santa find out what turkey tail mushrooms look like, ( a bracket mushroom on dead oak logs) and if you find any, stick a few in the brew for extra health.

That’s a good idea, with the right packaging I’d probably buy a pack for the novelty of it. Better yet, market some cocktail wieners as “Anthony’s Wieners”.

My garage mechanic had a cool wiener roasting stick that was made out of metal a little thicker than coat hangers in the shape of a stick man. It had a big straight rod between the stick mans legs to put your hot dog on to roast. Looked pretty cool since the wiener was as long as the stick man was tall.

A cut goes to FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT! Ask Randy Weaver what he thinks of federal LE. If you could, ask those men, women, and children FLE murdered in Waco. Ask those murdered, if you could, by guns straw purchased in the US under the disastrous “gun runner” program administered by BATFE. Remember, FLE through the DHS are the ones who distributed a report to all LE agencies claiming that ordinary Americans were “potential domestic terrorists”. Are you a vet? An NRA member? Like a third-party candidate? They are targeting YOU! Now the FBI, without oversight, has given themselves increased authority to investigate anyone for any reason, or for no reason at all! Go ahead.. buy Rush’s tea… give a cut to the Gestapo alphabet agencies!

I‘m not sure there’s a connect between the groups. My hate for the BATF is boundless. They are murderers. The latest BATF fiasco is their gun running exploits in Mexico that not only has been a total failure, but their supplied weapons have been found at the scene of the U.S. Border agent that was just killed, as well as several large death sites in Mexico. This is a huge scandal and the Obama Administration is not coming forthwith information for a Congressional Committee looking into the matter.

      CAPITALISM AT ITS FINEST

Did you hear today that the DNC Chairwoman has now taken responsibility for the economy. If it does get better it wasn’t through their policies or lack of job growing policies. It is because of people like Rush Limbaugh, entrepreneurs that have an idea.

DNC can own it, because all indicators show that it is failing and this is due to their anti-business, pro-union policies that scare away business and send it over sees: http://tiny.cc/eslo2 . Much like the LED business that received millions of stimulus funds and then shipped half of its jobs overseas. Thanks Obama.

Critiquing the product I find the product stupid, but that is just my opinion. I’m too conservative to buy $2.00 tea because Rush put his name and picture on it. I find that stupid as well but is simply my opinion.

I’m not to sure the profit margin would be very substantial as well as the % of market Rush could tap into. Who knows though but I‘m willing to guess it won’t be around this time next year. Guess we will see. Stay safe.

No axe to grind Billy, nope, not at all. I do direct you to a quote from the article.

“Part of the profits will go to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.”

First word of the sentence is part. Notice no exact figure is given for charity. So no, this is not for charity. “Part” of the “profit” goes to charity. “Part” could be 99% or 1%.

If this were ALL for charity, it would say 100% profit goes to charity. Rush should clearly state what % from profit is actually going to charity. Why wouldn’t he?

Charity is being promoted as a marketing tool to obtain more sales. As you said, who wouldn’t buy it for charity. Capitalists as myself call people who read that and buy it for “charity” gullible and not very frugal with their money. We also call capitalists who use such tactics manipulative and dishonest businessmen.

If I want to give to charity, I’ll send the charity the money myself.  Good business is honest business. Good business needs not manipulate to sale product. Have a great night Billy…

Sorry Okie but I am calling BS on your post.

You somehow forgot to mention that the minimum donation to the charity will be $100,000.00

Considering that shipping is included in $2.00 per bottle cost, there probably is not a huge amount of profit built in to that price point. Shipping for something that heavy is NOT CHEAP.

But even IF there is a $1.00 profit per bottle, (which is highly unlikely), he has to sell 100,000 bottles just to make the minimum donation.

Still think he is in it for the money?

Yes, I think you have an axe to grind. You were very vocal in your disdain for Rush in another topic recently. Which is OK, and you are entitled to your opinion. I am just bringing that point to light.

As for making your donations directly to the charity? Valid point, but the TEA promotion helps draw attention to the charity that it would not ordinarily get. And it is a very worthy cause. And since I do not like Iced Tea, I will make my donation directly.

I never said “Who wouldn’t buy it for charity”.
I said “Why is it stupid to raise funds for a worthy charity”

And please do not use the word “WE” when referring to Capitalists as yourself. You are making the implication that all capitalists agree with your assessment. I, and many other Capitalists do not consider what Rush is doing to be manipulative or dishonest.

You have a good night also.

      @TheRightsOfBilly

I’ve gathered from your post and our conversations you hold a good intelligence. I respect that. You think before speaking and communicate effectively.

I ask you sincerely if you truly believe this a charity idea or a business idea. I see it as business.

Profit margin on tea is very very small. Say profit of .05 a bottle, which is fair profit for drinks. Rush would need to sell 2,000,000 just to have the 100k minimal donation and that would be giving 100% profit to charity.

A minimum bid of 100k is another tactic. It tells the charity your guaranteed 100k for use of your charity name and can also be written off the business side.

So 100k is written off taxes giving a higher profit to Rush.

What does Glenn Beck say about business? Honest business is good business.

You do not believe not telling all the facts and loosely wording things isn’t manipulation or dishonest? I do and most honest capitalists I know do as well. Why can’t Rush state the exact %?

You mistaked my post on Charles VS Rush as me hating Rush, which isn’t true. He talks to much and is too dramatic for me but I don’t hate the guy. Even listen once in a while. He is just not my flavor.

I don’t believe OKIE is mad at Rush making money, I am pretty sure OKIE’s anger lies somewhere
With people who will buy whatever garbage that displays a fictitious label, which they seem to think means something.

It reminds me of children and their temporary fascination with “silly bands”. Silly bands were these rubber bands that made shapes. They were also very expensive, but kids loved them and got their parents to buy them, under the impression that they “are cool”. I would expect behavior like that from kids, but when Adults do it, it makes me lose faith in humanity.

Newsflash: The TEA party is dead. The TEA party is establishment. If you need proof just review all the “TEA Party Republicans” that voted for the Patriot Act.

Furthermore, I love the people who spout “TEA” on here as if it means something. As if this silly label gives them some kind of identification that makes them stand out from traditional Republicans.

      Let us analyze “Tea”.
      Taxed
      Enough
      Already

That is the same rhetoric that traditional Republicans have been spouting for years. So no, because you say TEA and then vote establishment, doesn’t make you a different Republican. It just makes you clueless and a victim of labelism.

Uhm, are you related to RobertCa? Just curious. The tea is sold by the case. 12 bottles with 16 oz in each = a case. (oops on you)

Your analogy is incorrect and misleading.

Lowering income taxes does increase overall Government tax revenue. Income tax is % taxed of the income of the worker. Lowering income tax allows workers to see more money to go purchase more products which has sale tax, leads to economic activity (work, more tax rev) and therefore potentially gives the opportunity to make MORE tax revenue.  Raising taxes generates the direct opposite, less total tax revenue due to choking economic activity.

Rush is correct and you are wrong, lowering income tax generates higher TOTAL TAX REVENUE. (oops # 2)

As for his $16 per gallon tea, yup to high for me. I’ll make my own.

Thank you. You are correct twice: I don’t hate Rush, he is just not my preference. This is just a capitalist using different marketing tools, some I don’t find total truthful and manipulative, to sale tea. You then have KoolAide drinkers who say I‘m conservative and I’m TEA party and actually go out and by $16 per gallon tea.

There is nothing conservative in buying $16 per gallon tea. If we can afford $16 per gallon tea, we have nothing to complain about and none purchasing such product should complain about gas prices at $4.00 per gallon. Otherwise they are hypocrites.

The establishment hijacked the TEA party and this will always happen due to Americans not having enough courage to stand in truth, start a new party and send all the establishment crooks home. Political parties use to come and go like the wind. We have had these two for 100+ years. Nothing will change as long as these two parties control Government as they are both progressive.

@Okie from Muskogee You info regarding the cost and profit on tea is way, way off. Gross profit on similar drinks is 50% plus and net profit for beverage companies which sell tea’s like the Dr. Pepper / Snapple group exceeds 10%. I’m assuming he is using a generic bottler and private labeling it. So his relative performance within these metrics is dependent on how much advertising he does and what amount of shelf placement fees he incurs. $ 2 is certainly not the cheapest tea on the market so I’m thinking this venture should fall at the higher end.

      @Jrook

Im no expect on beverage profit margins. I have reached out to a good friend who was a sales manager at Gatorade in Pryor before it shut down to get more specific facts per bottle net profit on average.

Shelf placement isn‘t needed as it’s sold only over the net i believe and will not be in stores. So Internet shelving cost and advertisement.

I agree private bottling/labeling and don’t forget shrink as well. Another cost.

      Gross sales = $2
      Gross profit of 50% = $1
      Net profit of 10% = $.10
      So I was off $.05

I also agree I do not think it will be successful at $16 per gallon. Hope your days good and appreciate your thoughts.
