Limbaugh Mocks Obama for His Phone Call to Fluke: ‘That Is So Compassionate’

Sandra Fluke
Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke and popular radio host Rush Limbaugh have found themselves at the center of a media firestorm.
Earlier this afternoon, Fluke appeared on MSNBC, where she told host Andrea Mitchell about a supportive phone call she received from President Barack Obama after radio host Rush Limbaugh maligned her earlier this week. Upon hearing about Obama’s call with the woman, Limbaugh defended himself and railed against the president’s support for Fluke.
In an effort to mock the president, the popular host made a kissing noise with his lips and provided a great deal of commentary on the matter.
“That is so compassionate. What a great guy,” Limbaugh poked. “The president called her to make sure she’s okay. What is she, 30 years old? Thirty years old, student at Georgetown Law who admits to having so much sex she can’t afford it.”

In responding to the president‘s call and to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney’s allegations that the popular host’s attacks on Fluke were “inappropriate,” Limbaugh said that Obama should return the $1 million comedian Bill Maher gave to his Super PAC.
“Will President Obama now give back the $1 million that Bill Maher just gave his super PAC?” Limbaugh asked. “You want to get some of the tapes that Bill Maher has called Sarah Palin? The C word over and over again?”
“Not one person says, ‘Well, did you ever think about maybe backing off the amount of sex you have?’” he continued.
Limbaugh was also bothered by Obama‘s statement that Fluke’s parents should be proud of her. Listen below:

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 4:48pmWell, let me see if I got this thing straight. Obama wants the public to pay for birth control for women. So he plants a 30 year old democratic female crony in a college as a student and she says she can’t afford birth control and school at the same time so the tax payers and insurance companies should pay for it so she can have sex. At 30 I would assume that she has done that before and figured out a way. With that said, I would say that Rush could be right and Obama is in the same club.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 6:46pmThe Battle Hymn of the Republic by Julia Ward Howe goes as follows . . .
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps: His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel, Since God is marching on.”
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me:
As he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, While God is marching on.
It’s a beautiful song, isn’t it? I never had even read through the whole thing until I found it on the internet. In the song Julia mentions seeing the glory of the Lord – where? In His judgment! She wrote this as she was walking through a Union encampment during the Civil War, and she felt that she could see the glory of the Lord i

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 6:59pmGeorgetown law school tuition is $45k a year, room and board is $20k a year. I want the gov’t to pay for this. I like sex and paying for contraceptives is driving me broke. I want the gov’t to pay for this, or at least health care companies who can pass off the cost in other people’s premiums. I’ve been getting pounded so much, I need a health club pass to stay in shape so I don’t throw my back into traction. Otherwise gov’t will have to pay for my health care costs. I don‘t want my male counterparts to use condoms because it’s not good sex, so I want the insurance companies to pay for STD screening to prevent a possible hefty health insurance cost in the future. I had to spend $20 last month on notebooks and pen and pencils, gov’t needs to reimburse me. This is happening all over campus., I can see it in their faces.My law degree not only teaches me law, it’s a great background for psychology and ESP.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 9:33pmHere is Rush Limbaugh, with an audience of 10 million people, calling a private citizen a “slut” for stating the opinion that insurance companies should cover birth control, something the majority of Americans support as well as the majority of Catholics. And he draws her parents into the fray too, trying to shame them as well. Rush is shameless as usual, caring nothing about who he might hurt, and ya gotta think he has a problem with women in general given his frequent misogynistic language, lack of children despite multiple wives, multiple divorces etc. But that’s beside the point.
The fact is that insurance companies are happy to provide birth control pills. Providing prescription birth control to an insurance companies clients is much more profitable than covering the costs of a pregnancy, delivery and subsequent health care costs for the child. If insurance companies determined their prices for group insurance based only on profit margin, they would LOWER prices to provide free contraceptives. These Catholic institution are not “paying for” contraceptive coverage, they are actually helping the insurance companies make more money.
These Catholic institution are not paying extra for contraceptives, the insurance companies are happy to provide contraceptives at no extra cost. Nope, these old white guys are just trying to force their believes on others, including Catholics.

Re: your slanderous remarks about the Catholic Church
It is difficult for me to understand how someone who is apparently educated and perhaps even intelligent can make such a bigoted attack on the Catholic Church and their beliefs. I thought that bigotry was condemned by ********. The Catholic Church has withstood such bigoted attacks for centuries and most probably for 2000 years. I can only imagine what the Romans and their orgy loving crowd said about Christians in the year 100. Christians and their beliefs even became a spectator sport for the citizens at the Colliseum.
All the Catholic Church has said is that they should not be forced to furnish abortion inducing drugs and contraceptives to their workers because it is against their deeply held beliefs to do so. The Catholic Church refuses to be a member of the liberal culture of death. Why is that so hard to understand unless there is some hidden agenda being perpetrated by liberals. The real answer is that Obama and his ******** all have their own religion which is called Marxism. The ******** are trying to force people of all other faiths to follow the precepts of their cult of death. They are doing this through the enforcement of their health care regulations.

I disagree. A huge part of the problem why we keep losing over and over and over again is because the libs figured out long ago the power of controlling the language. So while there once was a time that sluts were called sluts, well now calling a slut a slut means that you’re misogynistic and hate ALL WOMEN!!! But because the left gained control over the language we find ourselves unable to call a slut a slut, consequently we just have to ignore the fact that the chick even is a slut. We can’t point it out because the left control the language.
It’s just another small way the left tears down our society. All those things that at one time would’ve brought shame and ridicule, now people are expected to just look away lest they be called racists or sexists or bigots.
I get the point you’re making, but I think Rush, and all of us, should call it like we see it, take back the language, and call a slut a slut.

“For me the interesting part of the story is the ever-evolving “coed”. I put that in quotes because in the beginning she was described as a Georgetown law student. It was then revealed that prior to attending Georgetown she was an active women’s right advocate. In one of her first interviews she is quoted as talking about how she reviewed Georgetown’s insurance policy prior to committing to attend, and seeing that it didn’t cover contraceptive services, she decided to attend with the express purpose of battling this policy. During this time, she was described as a 23-year-old coed. Magically, at the same time Congress is debating the forced coverage of contraception, she appears and is even brought to Capitol Hill to testify. This morning, in an interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show, it was revealed that she is 30 years old, NOT the 23 that had been reported all along.
In other words, folks, you are being played. She has been an activist all along and the Dems were just waiting for the appropriate time to play her.
While she is described as a “third year law student” they always fail to mention that she is also the past president of Law Students for Reproductive Justice.”

Then we’d have a different story, wouldn’t we? Tell me: when you say you need healthcare, do you only refer to band-aids? No? Why then, when referring to contraceptives (Fluke’s argument), would you assume only condoms are being talked about (Bannister and Beck’s arguments)… especially when her specific examples referred to cases that did not actually involve sex?
Here’s a hint: it’s a strawman argument made up by Bannister and carried by Beck. Contraception and its related services include very much more than just condoms. I‘m surprised you didn’t realize that!
@Balthazor
“Explain to me, why is it that calling one woman a slut is apparently equivalent to calling ALL women sluts? Can you explain that to me?”
He called her in particular a slut, but his comments applied to all women who want their birth control paid through their insurance. Keep in mind, this isn’t the girl getting birth control for free; it’s getting it covered by the insurance that she herself needs to purchase anyway.
“If we are going to pay for your contraceptives and pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. And I’ll tell you what it is. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 6:15pmHere’s the official response from the president of Georgetown:
http://www.georgetown.edu/message-civility-public-discourse.html
“In recent days, a law student of Georgetown, Sandra Fluke, offered her testimony regarding the proposed regulations by the Department of Health and Human Services before a group of members of Congress. She was respectful, sincere, and spoke with conviction. She provided a model of civil discourse. This expression of conscience was in the tradition of the deepest values we share as a people. One need not agree with her substantive position to support her right to respectful free expression. And yet, some of those who disagreed with her position – including Rush Limbaugh and commentators throughout the blogosphere and in various other media channels – responded with behavior that can only be described as misogynistic, vitriolic, and a misrepresentation of the position of our student.
…
If we, instead, allow coarseness, anger – even hatred – to stand for civil discourse in America, we violate the sacred trust that has been handed down through the generations beginning with our Founders. The values that hold us together as a people require nothing less than eternal vigilance. This is our moment to stand for the values of civility in our engagement with one another.
Sincerely,
John J. DeGioia
President

You’re quite right about the hearings! It was a response to not having a woman able to speak on the first day of the Congressional hearing. If you’re trying to mitigate the impact of her testimony though, I suggest you e-mail the writers of The Blaze; they’ve posted three times the articles about this girl than they have about the hearing itself. Apparently Limbaugh and Beck care about it more than you (and everyone else chatting about it) do!

The one case she went into was about using a medication that was normally used as a contraceptive but also could serve as a treatment for an ovarian cyst. Had that been Fluke’s focus, had that been her message, this whole issue wouldn’t be in the news. But that’s exactly why she spoke of contraception – to make this a big news item. Pelosi parades this useful idiot in front of congress to make the claim that contraception cost her 3 grand over 3 years, I doubt it. Rush and others point out the innaccuracy (3,000 condoms over 3 years, average sex 2.7 times per day) insinuating that a woman would have to be quite promiscuous to have sex at that rate. This after the narrative is changed from “the catholic church objects to PAYING for contraception and abortion” to “all conservatives want all forms of contraception banned and Roe v. Wade overturned”. C’mon, which argument do you want to have. WHO EVEN BROUGHT THIS UP IN 2011? YOUR BOY DID BY NOT GIVING THE CATHOLICS ONE OF THE THOUSAND WAIVERS LIKE THE UNIONS AND MCDONALDS RECIEVED. The Catholics didn’t even want a waiver for the whole unconstitutional BS law. They just wanted out of PAYING for the killing of babies in the course of exercising their right of religion. Yes, Rush hates stupid, vapid, progressive, marxists, degenerate, and promiscous women ! Wow – you got us all there ! He came up with the term Feminazi about 15 years ago; fitting then as it is now!
Report Post »And why do care about the GOP and the election. By your own standards, you should want him to continue to speak, you should want to use snippets and partial, out of context sound bites to push your Media Matters / White House narrative. We all know your kind but what we don‘t know is how much you are paid to sit in your Mommy’s basement and post replies on the Blaze for Soros and Podesta ?? PS: Have you ever been to a Occupy (OWS) Crapsite ? Atheists Progressives Rule…not.

Report Post »I’m pretty sure no matter what Rush or any other conservative radio presence says, would turn a lib into a conservative for the GOP. So, Rush is, for the most part; preaching to the choir. However, there are indies out there that are bone-marrow sick of this idiot president and will help decide the election. And most of them are not up for paying for some chick in Georgetown to sew her oats.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 5:00pm“Except for the loony fringe how do you expect any self-respecting woman to vote Republican in the fall if GOP leaders don’t denounce Limbaugh? You people are so cluless…like children, really.”
Well, two thoughts come to mind:
1) Maybe women aren’t a homogeneous hive-mind, and some may actually think for themselves and agree that sluts should be called slut.
1) Maybe women aren’t a homogeneous hive-mind, and some may not actually make contraception and abortion the center of their entire lives.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 5:18pmBALTHAZOR…liberal women will love Obama’s move. It‘s no secret he’s in need of motivating the liberal base and he’ll shake every tree for every lefty vote in the country. However with most of the country very concerned about government spending and the debt I don’t believe Obama will make any new friends with this blatant endorsement of useless government spending..male or female.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 5:28pm@AvengerK: sure, the typical liberal woman is going to go orgasmic over all this. But then again, the typical liberal woman does, apparently, make contraception and abortion the center of their entire lives. And what’s more, the typical liberal woman wasn’t going to vote GOP anyhow.
I just find it incredibly ironic that these liberals are whining about Rush being sexist while in the same breath basically displaying their own belief that ALL women think exactly alike.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 5:29pmOne more thing I’d add, my experience has been that women tend to both label sluts as sluts and to dislike said sluts dramatically more than men do. Most men kinda like sluts. :)

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 6:14pmWhy don’t Democrat leaders denounce their spawn that say vile things about conservative women???? Could be that they are afraid of a backlash from their own base.

Posted on March 2, 2012 at 6:15pmBALTHAZOR…they can accuse Limbaugh of whatever they want to…but Bill Maher has a court filing against him by an ex girlfriend who says he threatened her with a hammer. Another girlfriend has offered that he if he’d had his way, she’d have had her head covered and walked 10 paces behind him in the muslim tradition. Consider how many times Maher has used very coarse language about Palin.

Report Post »If you listen to Rush you would know dummy that he often illistrates the absurdity by you lib-nuts by being absurd. You twits cannot stand him because he has his own platform and is very effective against dopes like you this president and his horrid administration. You say that Rush cannot get over his women hating diatribes. What about that little sawed off runt billy maher. The things that he and others like you and him have called Sarah Palin alone should be cause for concern. But since it is Limbaugh the nuts in the media and trolls like you foam at the mouth with selective moral outrage. Is obummy going to give the 1 million dollars back to maher. I doubt it. It is pretty pathetic but then again consider the source.
