Limbaugh on So-Called HHS ‘Accommodation’: There‘s no ’Compromise,‘ It’s all BS!

Earlier today, The Blaze’s Billy Hallowell reported the following:
This afternoon, President Obama announced the “accommodation” his administration plans to offer church-affiliated groups. Speaking from the White House, he explained that, under the new plan, universities and institutions connected with faiths that oppose contraception and associated services will not have to directly offer them.
Obama said that the new-and-improved birth control, sterilization and abortion-inducing drug policy will protect religious liberties, while assuring women’s access to contraception reports the AP.
And although major media outlets were calling the president’s decision a “cave,” some critics believe that he’s simply applying the unconstitutional mandate to a different entity, namely, insurance companies.
“Everybody‘s reporting that Obama’s caving on this mandate that the Catholic services provide abortion and all. There’s not a cave here!” conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said Friday afternoon.
“There may be an accommodation, but there’s no big cave-in here. It’s still the government mandating this stuff happen. They’re just changing the provider. It’s not done by the church. He says he gave them a way out of it by mandating the insurance companies do it, but that’s not the point here.”
He continued:
So everywhere I’m reading that Obama is caving on the mandate in Obamacare that Catholic churches — well, not churches, but the schools and hospitals are mandated to provide contraceptives and abortion-related services that they religiously disagree with. “What‘s happened here is that Obama’s caved! He has seen, he has heard, and now he’s gonna shift that burden to the insurance companies!”
…
My point here is, ladies and gentlemen, we are losing freedom and liberty inch by inch. It’s not being taken — well, in some cases it is, but in most cases it’s not being taken from us in giant grabs. It‘s little by little by little such that people don’t even see it. It doesn’t even register.
Limbaugh then addressed an AP report that claimed religious employers would not have to cover birth control for their employees.
“The administration instead will demand that insurance companies will be the ones directly responsible for providing free contraception,” the AP reported.
Limbaugh was beside himself.
“And we’re supposed to applaud this? We’re supposed to think that we have emerged with a big victory here? Obama can mandate that we buy insurance, and now Obama can mandate what insurance companies must offer — and after mandating what insurance companies must offer, then Obama can mandate what insurance companies can charge for it?” Limbaugh asked.
So what was his take away from this supposed “cave”?
“Freedom doesn’t mean anything to this guy! Freedom doesn’t mean anything to this regime or this administration. To me, this is breathtaking. This is an incredible sight to behold here,” Limbaugh said. “Since when does a president have the power to threaten to issue a rule gutting religious liberty? That’s the first thing.”
Limbaugh then went on to explain that he believes all of this “kerfuffle” between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration has been by design.
“And, by the way, I don’t think any of this a mistake. I don’t think this religious kerfuffle is something that they overreached on,” Limbaugh explained. “I think roiling this country and distracting people, setting up these extreme things like this and then walking them back to create the illusion, ‘Okay, you know what? We’re not gonna take your freedom,’ it’s all BS, folks.”
Hear Limbaugh explain the so-called “compromise” via Daily Rushbo:
“So here we have again from the top,” Limbaugh continued, “Obama’s gonna offer a compromise proposal said to be respectful of religious concerns. He started this. He started it by demanding that Catholic organizations provide birth control and other abortion-related services.”
“That’s unconstitutional. He cannot do it. There is an appropriate uproar. The regime says, ‘Okay, we‘ll walk it back and then we’ll make the insurance companies do it.’ He’s still getting everything he wants! He’s getting mandated federal funding of abortion services — and, in the process, trampling all over the Constitution. The right to religious liberty in this context is unequivocal in our country. It’s in the Constitution!”

Posted on February 10, 2012 at 11:35pmI’ve been saying from day one that this is not a compromise, but a stall tactic. ObamaCare gives the government the POWER (unconstitutional power mind you) to put a rule like this and many others in place. This was a trial balloon and with it being a presidential election year, he is acting like he’s listening and “cares”. How can we as a people be so stupid not to see that getting an exemption or an “alternate” type of mandate doesn’t change the fact that it is an unconstitutional mandate and robs us of more of our freedoms?
Ten years or less from now, this rule will be put back into place and the government will tell the religious groups to shut up or drop coverage all together. By then, unless ObamaCare is repealed, the exchanges/government run healthcare will be fully implimented and ready for an influx of millions of people. If the religious employers stand on principle and quit offering insurance, that automatically puts all of those people into the exchanges and onto the government healthcare roles. That is the end game here folks. They are setting the private insurance market up to fail and will paint religious groups into a corner and make them either stand on principal and not offer insurance or leave their religous beliefs at the door and comply with the government mandates. Yes folks, this IS HAPPENING in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! Wake the $#%^& UP!!!

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 3:22amIf I remember correctly during the healthcare debate in early 2010 congressman Bart Stupak from Michigan was the last holdout to sign onto Obamacare. The only reason he signed on was because he was given a executive order by Obama himself. Congressman Stupak’s only stipulation for signing on was that although abortions are legal in all fifty states, we the taxpayers should not pay for them. Now as Obama sets up the left hand battle with the church and abortion, the right hand battle is set to get taxpayers to pay for abortions. So he comes out today and walks back his attack on the church but insists that taxpayers pay for abortions . The church is happy to avoid persecution and applauds when Obama turns his gun sites to the taxpayers. Whatever happened to the Stupak agreement? We been had by this player yet again.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 8:19amAny average run of the mill spouse abuser does the same tactic; disrespect of boundaries – trample one boundary (rule, law, personal preference,) and if nothing happens you know how far you can go.
as one boundary line is stepped on, disregarded, and ignored you go even further to the next. Eventually, boundary erosion not only serves to remove restrictions on the abusers behavior, it also re-enforces THEIR authority and gives the illusion of their ALL POWERFUL status.
The victim grows weaker to stand against him while the abuser grows stronger.
You cannot negotiate with an abuser as they filter everything thru the lens of manipulation for an ultimate win. They cannot be trusted, as they are not sincere nor empathetic.
the only solution….GET THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!!!
and all of their supporters too.
It’s not enough to just cast your ballot to vote Obama and crew out in 2012….
You MUST find others (and lots of them) to also help you vote them out.
the superficial charm, the gifts, the promises, the pleading, must all be ignored and seen for what it is….our Constitution has been violated enough…We are standing, more of us everyday…we are saying….NO MORE LIES, NO MORE DECEIT, NO MORE ABUSE, NO MORE LIVING IN FEAR, NO MORE LOSS OF LIBERTY.

Posted on February 10, 2012 at 11:04pmRush is right–Obama is neither accommodating nor caving. To do either of those things would presume that the opposition had some compelling BASES upon which to stand their rights claims, but here that is not the case. No one’s liberty is being violated, because no one HAD (or HAS) a legitimate right to to use their power as EMPLOYERS, not individuals, to coerce EMPLOYEES choices. Employers are legally OBLIGATED to provide the things a worker’s contract stipulates in exchange for their labor–we DON’T, nor should we, give them the right to, after the fact, decide they WON‘T give them those benefits simply because they don’t like the person receiving them or that persons’ choices of how they dispose of those benefits (presuming their activity is legal–if it’s ILLEGAL, that’s an entirely separate issue with laws that deal with it)–I’m sorry, but that was a decision you ought to have made BEFORE hiring them. Now that they’ve provided you with a service, you are OBLIGATED to fulfill your end of the contract.

I imagine they’re sick of old, rich, white males telling them that if they are going to have to ay $1000 a year for birth control so their religious freedoms aren’t violated. Nobody is buying that, especially women.
But, Republicans, go for it! Go for the religious angle on birth control, and then go explain to Americans how much you love “small government” except where it comes to women’s bodies. That’s a winning position, at least for Democrats.

Care to guess which half.
If “LEFT ” to your own devices, I bet you can figure it out.
And you can level with us JZS, it’s OK. There is no need to envy Rush’s diploma. You can always study up and try for the GED.
Are you having seances and actually trying to channel Alinsky?

So you believe it’s governments job to provide all women with FREE birth control, and to make sure they maintain the right to legally dispose of their children that managed to sneak past the free birth control?
Rhetorical question JZS

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 2:21amHey JZS
You list all these items about Rush.
High School Grad
Entertainer
Very rich
Once addicted to Oxy
Doctor shopping due to addiction
Multiple marriages
First, those characteristics describe just about every Hollywood lefty celeb that the lemmings of your party idolize.
Second, none of them seem to have any effect on his ability to shred your credibility and just generally get under your skin and tweak your sensibilities on a daily basis for over 20 years and counting.
Its no wonder he bugs you though. I know how I would feel if Alec Baldwin had enough talent to be able to host a hugely popular radio show for 15 hours a week that effectively picked apart and mocked every political ideal that I held.
It would pi$$ me off to no end, and I would probably end up venting and ranting on an internet forum every day.
Oh well, if your lucky, maybe someday DR. Maddow will become as successful as Rush and you can come back here and say……..nyea nyea nyea nyea nyea.
But I won’t hold my breath. And you shouldn’t either.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 4:55pmFellas, come on. Save me your false outrage. 28 states already require insurance companies that provide coverage of prescription drugs to also cover birth control. Why the uproar now? Simple, it’s a false issue raised for political reasons.
Sorry for the gratuitous slam of Rush and his weight. I know how upsetting that must be to you. I’m ashamed at my immaturity. But still, you have to admit he’s a big guy. He’s got his own area code for goodness sake. His baby photos were taken from a satellite. He had to be baptized at Sea World. He never wears yellow because people start yelling “Taxi!” when he walks down the street. When he flies, the TSA has to bring people in on overtime to pat him down. He might have even been bigger but his mom was on birth control when he was conceived (I made those last two up, maybe I have a career in comedy!).

THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!
OBAMA CARES!
wE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE A BLACK HALF MAN WHO CAN STAND UP TO HIS OWN ADMINISTRATION AND BACK DOWN TO MEET THE NEEDLESS CONCERNS OF THOSE UNGLY CATHOLICS. WOW! (sarcasm font used)
So I get it,not having the price of abortions lavered into monthly premiums for devout Catholic and other faiths BUT forcing the insurance companies to lower their shockholder’s return by not allowing them to charge for a “service” (e.g., killing babies) they MUST provide makes perfect sense. If you live in Bizzaro World that is. So you mean that a religous entity that believes killing unborn children will pay higher premiums that one that has the moral substance to take a stand against slaughtering (opps, I meant sucking out the linbs, torso, heart, and brain) a live child? Can‘t wait to see who get’s to make those decisions.

Posted on February 10, 2012 at 8:47pmEven if it is pushed onto the insurance companies, the insurance companies would just add the costs across the board and the church would still be paying for it, albeit at a lower rate. Smoke and mirrors…govt telling the church what to do..totally illegal…the church will win this one…or throw out the 1st amendment.
Can someone please explain to me how NDAA is legal?

Posted on February 10, 2012 at 9:39pmIT is not about the money!!!!! It is the priciple. The Governement who get its power from us cannot force upon us anything. We do not get our power or our rights from the government, the government get its power from US – I refuse to allow the government to put a lien on my God given un-a-lien-ble rights -and it does make a huge difference in the understanding of the word – when you understand it as a lien

Posted on February 10, 2012 at 8:43pmIt’s like going into a diner and the waitress serves you a burnt piece of toast. You say, “hey, this toast is a little well done….” and the waitress flips the piece of toast over and says, “There you go!”
It’s the same piece of toast! Just like it’s the same rule it was before, all they did is change who paid for it. (Namely, everyone, because the insurance company can’t print money to cover the loss.)
