Limbaugh’s Missouri Hall of Fame Statue Gets $1,100 Security Camera Over Vandalism Concerns

Limbaughs Missouri Hall of Fame Statue Gets $1,100 Security Camera Over Vandalism Concerns

AP

The bronze bust of Rush Limbaugh recently placed in the Missouri state House now has its very own $1,100 security camera.

House Clerk Adam Crumbliss told the Associated Press he authorized the camera over concerns the sculpture of the radio host’s head and shoulders might be vandalized.

“We recognize that there was a level of controversy around it, and we want to make sure that property is protected,” Crumbliss said. “We’ve had lots of calls, and some calls and complaints have been a little beyond the pale.”

As The Blaze previously reported, Limbaugh’s induction into the Hall of Famous Missourians — alongside President Harry Truman, Walt Disney, Walter Cronkite and others — prompted a flurry of anger among state Democrats. The actual induction ceremony was held behind closed doors, presumably to keep out any uninvited opposition.

(Related: Rush Limbaugh Hits Critics in Acceptance Speech After His Induction Into Hall of Famous Missourians)

According to the Associated Press, there is a general security camera at the center of the state’s Capitol Rotunda; Limbaugh’s statue is the only one under extra surveillance.

Assistant House Minority Leader Tishaura Jones, a Democrat, told the AP the taxpayer-funded camera was both a surprise and a concern. She suggested the money could have been better spent on legislative staff salaries.

“If they thought that the bust might be defaced or vandalized and they have to guard it with a camera, it‘s another indication that maybe they shouldn’t have put it there,” Jones said. “It’s another chapter in this never-ending saga of this man who deserves no honor in the people’s house.”

Limbaugh’s bust, like others in the hall, was financed through private donations.

Crumbliss said the state House has been considering installing cameras in its chamber to stream live broadcasts of its sessions, and said the Limbaugh security camera could serve as a pilot program to test picture quality.

Oh no, vandalism is the LAST thing I want to happen to this bust–in twenty years after Limbaugh is dead and the ideology he represents soundly defeated, seen for the catastrophic failure that it is, I want a memorial that people can go and see, and remember forever the history of what an utter failure Limbaugh and everything he represents was–to look back on the quaint and stupid things he said that so many once took seriously and to laugh and ask ourselves how we ever could have been so foolish, so blind, as to ever think there was anything more to Limbaugh than an angry failure of a man. There’s nothing Limbaugh deserves more than to be remembered for who he is and what he did–nothing of value.

Please read the whole article before commenting. Rush Limbaugh has done more for the State of Missouri than any bleeding heart liberal ever has. His charitable contributions are extraordinary all across the country.
Rush‘s take on conservatism and it’s value system is what is foremost about him. He can be hard to swallow for some but he makes you think about reality. Idealism just don’t cut it in the real world.

Limbaugh is notorious for certain. I won’t mention his five marriages or his doctor shopping and drug addiction, I won’t go there. Nor will I mention that Limbaugh avoided going to Vietnam for a highly questionable “football injury.” Originally he got a deferment based on being enrolled in college as a freshman, but we all know how that turned out don’t we? He dropped out.

Ya ever wonder why Limbaugh never served – dodged the draft in fact – and yet he’s such and expert on the military? Why he never got even one year of an advanced education and yet is an expert on the economy, government, climate change, religion and drug use among teenagers?

I’ll tell you why! People who know the least believe they are the most knowledgeable. And you know that don’t you, from work if nowhere else. The blowhards know less than anyone. And that’s why a college dropout, drug addict, draft doger person who has been married five times knows more than anyone on every subject in the news. It’s not because he knows more, it’s because he know nothing.

The fawning liberal loves his own, and only his own. He complains and moans, moans and lies, a mischief bent coward of the perfidious tongue that dares nothing, stifles everything decent, rolls in slop, eats the freedom of others till the belly swells, pukes in his bed, poisons the clean air with the zeal of a braggart, robs the world to be styled honorable, a civil ruffian, flatters politicians, is delusive, smooth as a snake, a traitorous wretch varnished over with spittle running down the chest that pumps the blood of disgust upon his enemies, and cries for revenge upon those who would tarnish his good name — and if a woman — she’s twice as repugnant. Goose,

The real irony is that people of your political persuasion, while visiting the site, would act like the children that they are, and vandalize the statue.

If it were not for democrats, the camera would not be needed at all.

Wow, didn’t think of it that way, did you?

Don’t worry Goose, plenty of private donors will now come forward to cover that small cost, and the taxpayers money can now go to the legislative salaries like whats her face would prefer.

Personally, I would rather see it go for the camera. Far more worthy of a cause if you ask me.

It’s not ironic that liberals or progressives would vandalize the statue, it may be sad, tragic, immature or disgusting, but it’s not ironic. For it to be ironic something has to be the opposite of what you would expect and everyone is expecting the statue to be vandalized by those who can’t stand Mr. Limbaugh. That’s the whole point of installing the camera.

What is also sad is that in state with such a rich history and both a Democratic and Republican senator, the state GOP majority couldn’t find a more deserving state hall of fame inductee. Perhaps someone who would be supported by both parties – a famous athlete, writer, scientist, or military hero, instead they stealthily pushed through the divisive Mr. Limbaugh as a big FU to the Democrats.

What is ironic is that you totally got the point I was making, and are in agreement with me. I did not expect that from you.

It is only due to the EXPECTED sad and juvenile behavior of immature liberals, progressives and democrats, that the security camera is needed at all.

There are many left wing statues, busts, etc., all around this land. But I don’t recall ever hearing that any of them needed special protection from any good church going, civic minded, hard working, tax paying, family raising conservatives.

Funny how it always seems to be the left that is at the root of most problems.

When the lamps were stolen, they put in an expensive camera system to look over the new expensive lamps they bought to replace the stolen ones. They could have bought cheaper lamps, limited access, and locked the freaking door to begin with, but that would make too much sense and wouldn’t cost taxpayers anything.
