Listen to Blind Chinese Activist Chen Guangcheng Call Into Congress and Plead for Help

Chen Guangcheng, the blind Chinese activist who made headlines last week after escaping from house arrest, has been granted permission to apply to leave China and study in the U.S. — a tentative deal that could end what turned into a high-profile diplomatic crisis.
Chen has made a series of public pleas for help and protection, including to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose visit to Beijing came just after his escape. On Thursday, he spoke live via cell phone to U.S. House members during an emergency hearing of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China.
“I want to meet with Secretary Clinton,” he said through a translator. “I hope I can get more help from her.”
Chen said authorities had installed video cameras and an electric fence around his family’s home.
“I am most concerned right now for the safety of my mother and brothers,” he said.
Chen, a self-taught lawyer, had been kept under house arrest for years after exposing forced abortions and sterilizations in his community as part of China’s population control tactics.

China will not give them up unless we give them something in return. Rice paddies are not being cared for; most workers have left for the cities to manufacture products for the Walmart stores. Millions in the American prison system can harvest China`s rice crop. Let them give us one million software programmers and we will give them two million criminals.

This administration thinks it is smarter than any other and is capable of “balancing” competing interests such as human rights and being on good terms with China. They don’t realize that dealing from a strong hand will ensure we can stand on human rights and have reasonable relations with countries like China.
We must first of all, stop borrowing money from other nations. This weakens our hand tremendously. We must be willing to risk the ire of the Chinese despots and stand tall in the face of their anger and threats. Let them bluff and bluster and threaten to not cooperate with us. Their ability to act is limited also because from a trade perspective they need us as much as we need them.

The U.S. government will not save him…unless they are secretly paying the university to solve the problem that they will not openly do. Just pray Chen get out with his family. Hillary needs to drink beer and dance…she has no time for human rights problems and she certainly would not support someone who , like Chen, is against abortion and the one child rule.
