Mel Gibson
Hollywood screenwriter Joe Eszterhas has released a new audio tape allegedly of actor and director Mel Gibson raging at house guests in his home in Costa Rica, TMZ and The Wrap report.
In it, the person identified as Gibson demands, “Why don’t I have a first draft of ‘The Maccabees’?” and asks, “What the f–k have you been doing?” He also screams about ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva — the mother of his young daughter — and says, “I am earning money for a filthy little c–ksucker who takes advantage of me!”
The audio comes after Eszterhas — who was working with Gibson on an action flick about Jewish warrior Judah Maccabee — penned a letter to Gibson earlier this month accusing him of hating Jews and calling the Holocaust “mostly a lot of bullsh-t.” Gibson hit back, saying Eszterhas’ letter was full of “utter fabrications.”
“Gibson called me a liar,” Eszterhas told The Wrap of his decision to release the audio, recorded by his son in December. “And I also have some reason to believe he’s creating a PR blitz questioning my truthfulness.”
Listen below, via The Wrap and TMZ. Content warning — very strong language:
Below is a partial transcript of the rant, via The Wrap. Read the full transcript here.
Mel – (screaming the whole time)
Why don’t I have a first draft of “The Maccabees”?
What the f–k have you been doing?
[...]
I am earning money for a filthy little c–ksucker who takes advantage of me!
Just like every motherf–ker!
So hurry the f–k up!
[...]
(Coming up from the billiard room and approaching the table and screaming at the top of his lungs in the face of his guests)
Who wants to eat?! Who the f–k wants to eat?! Go have something to eat! Hurrrrraaaaayyyyyy!
(Screaming)
F–k!
F–k!
F–k!
F–kin’ hate!
F–king c–t c–ksucker whore!
In 2010, a series of tapes were released of Gibson admitting to hitting Grigorieva and threatening to kill her.
Update: Gibson is reportedly considering suing Eszterhas for releasing the audio, according to TMZ:
Sources connected with Mel tell TMZ … the actor believes he has a “basic human right” NOT to be secretly recorded in his own home.
We‘re told Mel’s people are looking at the laws of Costa Rica to determine if recording laws were violated and, even if they weren’t, if Mel’s right of privacy was violated by the release of the audio.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 2:26pmMel Gibson used to be a decent family man who loved God, was very involved in his faith.
When he began skrewing around with the Hollyweird crowd, he changed from a good, decent man into a raving idiot.
See what happens when you leave God for the dark side. Well, he might blame that young gal for having a baby, but I’m assuming he impregnated her the usual way, so it’s as much his fault. It takes a real jerk to blame this on the girl. Put your junk back in your pants and zip it up and shut your stupid mouth Mel. You’re an embarrassment to everyone who used to watch you act.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 5:48pmOne has to ask.
Why is the screen writer so willing to record Gibson rant when He has NOT provided a script he was paid to do?
There were NO racist anti-Semitic remarks in this audio. So why did the writer who taped the rant even bring THAT up?
Is he trying to get out of doing something he was paid to do by diverting his ripoff of Gibson as an easy media target?

It is their way of communication despite their character otherwise. Now, many of us find it to an be over the top sand paper offensive approach to communication, but I’m just telling you that to them, odd as it may seem, it’s no different than coming from the south and speaking with a southern flair.

Posted on April 20, 2012 at 7:30amI didn’t hear anything on that recording that was out of the ordinary. Sometimes I wonder if some people just live such sheltered lives that they don’t have stuff like this in their lives? Hmm. When knock down dragouts happen around here they last for like hours or days, multiple limbs get broken, and the yelling… haha yelling a few cuss words for 2 minutes? huh? what is that? how about full on demonic possessions where you get called every name in the book, then those names again only hooked together doing every foul act in the book, then those things again only now involving your parents doing every foul act in the book, beatings… You have to be a warrior in this world and stand up to those things even if you do get your body shattered and have lots of titanium screws in you holding you (me) together. Thats why this seems very mild to me. It actually seems like somebody set this up on Mel, had a tape recorder running, and then did some things, or didnt do some things that really got Mel mad and they had the recorder running.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Seriously, Mel, you need help and you certainly have no excuse not to get it. Pray for him because it is obvious that he is either addicted to a substance of some kind or suffering from a mental break. He did many great things and created great works of art. I believe that the greatest tests and trials come to us when we’re vulernable to them and that usually means when we achieve the greatest heights in our lives. There but for the grace of God go I. We all need to be on the watch tower for our own souls. Such a shame.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 12:46pmGeez, what can one say? It’s so terribly sad to say the least. I LOVE Mel Gibson’s movies. I think he is a gifted actor, director, etc. I think he has been given great Gifts, and I believe he knows the same in his heart. But I also believe he’s been raked over the coals by a woman who used him and abused him, and has tried to completely destroy him personally and professionally, and who bears significant responsiblity IN ADDITION to his OWN actions and non-Christian behavior in the past. He knows that, too.
Yet, if the telling is true, for him to have been in a room with others having nothing to do with the Esterhaus debacle, and cursed openly and loudly and with great anger, not using any visible restraint in his words – with prior history of how things “get out to the public” (i.e. to all of us here) – it shows a man (like perhaps some of us) not having learned a very, very painful and expensive lesson. And I feel for him. I do. I admit it. He is a man of great Gifts, and a man of great personal failures. Pray for him, if you care. I do. I will. (But I DO think Gibson wanted to make the Maccabbees all along, and I DO think this is a result of Esterhaus’ own anger. I think Eesterhaus has screwed himself, along with Gibson, and that ain’t good for Esterhaus.) Welcome to Hollywood, Esterhaus.

They’re just words that are associated with an emotional state or intention which is at the heart of communication in general. It has a different emotional implication not because it’s “forbidden” but because of the vary nature of the emotional undertones it is intended to convey.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 8:07pmIf anything the recording verifies Gibson’s side of the story. He said that he got angry with Eszterhas when there wasn’t a script. There wasn’t any anti-Semitic comments on the recording. Eszterhas alleged that Gibson didn’t want to make the movie because he was an anti-Semite. As you said, why would Gibson get so mad when there wasn‘t a script if he didn’t want to make the movie to begin with? After hearing the recording, why would he be upset that the movie wasn’t being made? I would think that he would just be happy to get away from Gibson.
If I was the mother of Gibson’s daughter I would disappear with her and stay as far away as they can from him.
