I will help raise money for the monument. THAT would help build bridges

I am wondering what that means exactly? and I am wondering who or how determines the area is now *sacred ground*? I am so deeply moved with sorrow for all of the lives lost there. I can understand why most Americans want some kind of a Memorial there for the ones that lost their lives. I can also understand how having some kind of mosque there would feel like a knife in the heart of those who lost loved ones in the tragedy. I love ol Bill ‘s frankness and the ease with which he will apologize when he is incorrect. I will watch Barbara Walters The View when I get the opportunity. I also turn it off when the women begin talking over each other or their guests and nothing can be heard. That is childish behavior and certainly does not endear them to anyone with any proper manners. Can anyone explain the sacredness of the ground where 9-11 occured?

Americans lost their lives in that area (not just the two buildings)- and the fact it was extremist Muslims- it became an “U.S. vs the extremists” thing- and thus- the Americans who died that day became, for the lack of a better term- immortalized. At that moment- it became sacred ground.

The landing gear of one of the planes was involved. I couldn’t tell you if the landing gear hit the site pre-impact, or was thrown and landed there, post-impact, as I am only going by other people’s observations about that specific issue. I have not researched the validity of it personally, but trust the people who have told me.
Sounds like a perfect place for a victory mosque to be built to me, and certainly goes a long way, in my way of thinking about it, to explaining why there is so much rhetoric against moving it to another site a few blocks away.
That specific site, has the symbolism that the victory mosque needs.
Personally, I’m athiest. I think all of you religious types, no matter what religion, (but especially scientologists :eyeroll:) have issues, but I may be wrong, and one of you may be right, and none of us are going to know one way or the other until after we die. So, as long as your beliefs, don’t infringe on mine, we’ll get along just fine.
That said, there is no way I would ever support the victory mosque being built there. It is an insult to the US, and New Yorkers in particular, and even if somehow, it does end up getting built anyways, that church that actually was destroyed in the collapse, had damned well be fully rebuilt, FIRST!

What seems most obvious to me, is the audience of this scam parade of unrelenting Progressive popular chat, changes. Yes, I know there is always the token conservative, gross minority, out on far right fringe. But Progressives rule and the audience has always appeared to serve, straining necks up to lick towering high heals. This audience was clearly divided with the conservatives the most vociferous with sure confident standings. My guess sponsorships are on the table, air time must be scrutinized and this panel of couch-potatos must be rethought. That is if common sense and thought oversees this sham. I have no doubt, that is not the case. But sponsorship is always free to talk, and walk.

I think he acts like a jerk far too often. I wish someone could convince him to stop talking over his guests. He even does it to people like Brit Hume, Greta Van Susteren, and Condoleezza Rice. On the most recent occasions, they were not evading questions or trying to spin; they were attempting to respond to his questions with articulate answers. Instead they were treated rudely by him, for no apparent reason except that it gratifies his ego to dominate people.

Mr. O’Rielly did VERY well and he was correct in saying that Muslims attacked and murdered Americans on 9-11. Yes those who carried out the attacks were “extremists” however they were MUSLIMS as well! What is so hard to understand about that???? He did NOT say ALL Muslims are murderers. As a woman, I’m ashamed of these women! What if people in this country and around the world who watch this show thought that all American women were like these liberal, extremest women???? They are certainly a VERY negative representation of the majority of women!

Posted on October 14, 2010 at 3:10pmO’Reilly is a pretty intelligent guy and a lot of what he says is up to snuff, but as CatherineA said, he talks over his guests/hosts/co-workers too much. If he would let them make their points, he would gain a lot of stature. That’s the biggest problem with all these debates, and we all do it, is we get emotional and loud, rather than attempting to have a straight calm dialogue.
However, even he cannot explain why this mosque is inappropriate. Nobody ever explains it the way it needs to be explained. Is it wrong for a mosque to be built there? Well, it depends on who’s worshipping there. Would you support a church being built next to the Oklahoma City building? What if you found out the people funding it were Mcveigh supporters? Nobody ever makes this point, and it’s the point that needs to be made.

Once all the raised voices get going, no one is listening and the words get lost. If Joy and Whoopi needed to walk off to cool down, fine. As far as I know, McVeigh never said he did it in the name of Jesus or God. In fact, the closest thing to a reason I ever heard was that it was a response to the FBI and Waco.

Those others though, if they all fell through a giant hole in the floor of their little stage get-up, I’d LMAO! That’d be a sure sign right there.
