Liz Cheney Splits With Father on Palin Remarks: ‘More Qualified Than Obama and Biden Combined’

Former Vice President Dick Cheney told ABC‘s Jonathan Karl Sunday that Senator John McCain’s decision to pick Sarah Palin as his running mate in 2008 was a “mistake,” and one that Mitt Romney can’t repeat.
“I like Governor Palin. I’ve met her. I know her. She – attractive candidate. But based on her background, she’d only been governor for, what, two years. I don’t think she passed that test…of being ready to take over. And I think that was a mistake,” Cheney explained.
(Related: Dick Cheney: Picking Sarah Palin for VP Was a ‘Mistake’)
But now, Liz Cheney– who many respect as a conservative mind independent of her father’s former position– has amicably announced that she disagrees with her father’s position.
“Rarely do I disagree with best VP ever but @SarahPalinUSA more qualified than Obama and Biden combined. Huge respect 4 all she’s done 4 GOP,” Liz Cheney wrote.
And this isn‘t the first time Liz Cheney has come to Palin’s defense.
After the controversial book “Game Change” was released, Liz Cheney zinged George Stephanopoulos: “It’s not accurate [that she wasn't prepared]. I think, frankly… the excerpts about the Democratic candidates, whether it‘s Bill Clinton’s long-running affair [or] excerpts about John Edwards’ affair [sound] more interesting, frankly, than the excerpts about the Republicans.”
Here is video, via Think Progress:
Bestselling author David Limbaugh concluded of Dick Cheney’s remarks : “I don’t think Cheney was gratuitously attacking her anyway; as I understood it he was responding honestly to a question.”
He added that, in his opinion, Palin may have been the only “saving aspect” of the ticket, but tweeted: “I love VP Dick Cheney even though I strongly disagree with him about Sarah Palin. Let’s not turn on each other here.”

Posted on July 30, 2012 at 1:06amIt is public knowledge, but never mentioned: Biden is literally missing part of his brain. He had brain cancer in 1988 (it was diagnosed soon after he dropped out of the presidential campaign in disgrace over his plagiarism — and Biden credits that with saving his life), and he had an operation to remove the tumor.

Posted on July 30, 2012 at 6:52amSarah Palin was the only thing that kept McCain competitive. When Sarah Palin was brought on board, the enthusiasm immediately changed.
Where McCain had struggled to fill an arena, lines outside events featuring Palin seemed miles long.
Polls prove, that until McCain inexplicably stepped into the media’s “erratic” narrative by trotting off to DC to “save the economy,” Sarah Palin had given the ticket a very real chance to win.
McCain was the one who made the terrible decision to ‘suspend’ the campaign. The numbers dropped that day and never went back up.
McCain led in one of a dozen polls before the announcement and would go on to trail in every one of the 100+ polls taken and included in the RCP average following that move.
After the bailout vote, support for the Republican ticket collapsed.
In Pew’s exit poll in 2008, voters who said Palin was a factor in their vote went for McCain by a whopping 56-43 margin.
Sarah Palin energized the Party, and carried Senator McCain farther than he could have possibly gone without her.

Posted on July 30, 2012 at 10:03amSometimes Ms. Cheney, Father knows best….
Sarah Palin is a great vocalist for the Conservative cause so where she best serves this cause is in radio, TV, and print. As she has shown, she is a poor politician on the national level. Palin was an exciting choice, but I agree with Vice President Cheney that she was a poor choice. If anything, she simply wasn’t ready yet for the big stage and should have stayed put in Alaska and continued to serve the people of that state. On a side note, John McCain was also a poor choice but you can thank the primary electorate for that.
“I admire Palin for not backing down from the constant attacks on her and her family”

Had it not been for Sarah turning his candidacy around, Mccain looked like a little whipped boy, I felt sorry for him. With Sarah, he stood in the wings and watched the love showered on Sarah and wondered where he went wrong.
Even today, people admit, they didn’t vote for McCain, they voted for Sarah Palin.

Re gay marriage .. Most people don’t care if two of the same sex want to get together. We object to the word marriage. If they would ask for a union that gives them the same legal rights of couples, this would not be an issue with the majority. It is the term marriage .. which is between an man and woman. What I object to the LGBT movement is that hey want special privelages.

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 11:58pmSarah Palin’s accomplishments are too numerous to list here. So educate yourself at just two of the many easy find websites. Since you can’t seem to educate yourself by doing a simple web search.

Posted on July 30, 2012 at 1:26amYou’re a typical lefty, RG. You want someone else to do the work for you (list her accomplishments). Look them up yourself. She’s been one of the leading proponents of pro America for the last several years. Of course, she hasn‘t offered to give you a free lunch so I’m sure you disagree.

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 11:14pmI find the mistaken candidate was John McCain, not Sarah Palin who represents Tea Party ideals and is a bright, honest, intelligent, person. McCain is a total deception, a Rhino…exactly what we do not need. I love and respect Sarah…

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 11:32pmAgreed ! … I couldn‘t believe that a ’shaky‘ John McCain was actually ’picked’ over Romney in 08 by a supposedly Conservative Party … Palin represents common-sense traditional values in an insanely untraditional and compass-less world …

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 11:12pmI sometimes revel in the fact that we’ll have the Palin howitzer bombarding the progressive-marxist ediface for another 30-40 years. Including a profoundly successful eight year stint as President of the United States.
