Local Philly Fox Reporter Attacked During Live Broadcast

I‘m about to give you one of the best opening paragraphs in local reporting that I’ve seen in a long time. It’s from Fox29 in Philadelphia:
Fox 29 reporter Chris O’Connell and video journalist Dave Edwards are OK after they were attacked on live TV by the son of a man charged in a bizarre animal cruelty case involving a naked man and an Iguana.
“Attacked on live TV,” check. “Bizarre animal cruelty case,” check. “Involving a naked man and an Iguana,” definitely a check. Oh, and video of it all, check. Yes, it’s confirmed, we have all the elements for a nutty local news story.
It all happened after O’Connell and Edwards were doing a live report for the 10 o’clock news. They were at the scene of a house that had been earlier raided by police after the owner was found naked outside and police spotted a dead iguana. That gave them probable cause to search the home, and when they did they found several dead dogs and a 4-foot live alligator.
During the live broadcast about the story, a man lunged at O’Connell. Edwards then stepped in to try and restrain him:
O‘Connell said the man who lunged at him was the suspect’s son:

Police arrested him and he’s expected to face charges of assault and resisting arrest.

Posted on July 27, 2011 at 2:50pmBizarre animal cruelty case involving a naked man and an Iguana. Wow, if that’s not an attention grabber, I don’t know what is, huh? Well maybe this… by the way, the Fox journalists don’t think this is even remotely as news worthy, nor apparently does Glenn Beck. How about you?
U.S. Constitution. Article 2, Section 1.
“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President …”
Obama’s father precluded his being a “natural born citizen” meaning born on U.S. soil of U.S. citizen parents; he is further ineligible by dual citizenship for being born a British citizen pursuant to the British Nationality Act of 1948, as his father was a British citizen of colonial Kenya.[1]
MINOR V. HAPPERSETT IS BINDING PRECEDENT AS TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL DEFINITION OF A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.[2]
Demand congress remove Obama in accordance with their oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Posted on July 27, 2011 at 3:44pmTeaParyConservatism: U R exactly Correct. And Mr. Chuck Stein who said that BO being born to an American Citizen mother is adequate simply does not understand the “natural born citizen” requirement of the Constitution – it requires BOTH parents be Citizens. This was intended by the Framers to avoid any double allegiance. Further, it has not been proven beyond any doubt that BO was actually born on American soil (thought that doesn’t solve the eligibility issue even if he was). There has been plenty of research which indicates there is a good chance that he was born in Kenya. If so, he was not born a citizen of USA since his mother did not meet the legal requirements, due to her age, to convey US citizenship to her child. Additionally, there is no evidence that after BO became a citizen of Indonesia that he made any attempt to establish US citizenship. There is a lot about this issue that Mr. Stein apparently does not know. This is a huge issue which includes participation by many in high places in ignoring the Constitution and in failing to do due diligence to determine eligibility. He is clearly and simply ineligible to be president. There is little question about that and far too few people, even in high places, even care – including Glenn. There have been many who have studied this issue thoroughly and concluded BO is ineligible. SCOTUS suits have been filed, and were denied a hearing. Another is looking like it will be heard this fall. Should be interesti

Posted on July 27, 2011 at 2:29pmI wonder if the reporters were on private property? I have to admit that I would not appreciate reporters on my property. It looked like the son tried to get them to leave before it got physical. I don’t condone what the son did but it seems to me that the reporters could have been more considerate of the family.

Posted on July 27, 2011 at 2:50pmIf you are not condoning the son’s actions, then you are at least apologizing for him. You cannot hit someone for being in your yard if all they are doing is talking to a TV camera — you can tell them to get off of your property and if they don’t, then you can call the police — and in this case the police were not too far away, were they?

It‘s a mental illness and it’s really sad. I feel sorry for the animals that died or were starving, but I’m not a nut ball about it. Sad situation all around. Because we live in a free society, do we still? anymore behind the door policies coming at us?, people with mental health issues have rights too. The poor people living around him. Posted on July 27, 2011 at 11:41amI fear for our White House looking like that when Obama moves out. Democrats are pigs and have no respect for our national things. Clinton folk destroyed computers and Bill left shmegma stains all over the drapes, carpets, furniture and a blue dress. I know they’ll have to get the old sofa and 55 gal. barrel grill off the front porch, I figured on that, but who knows what hideous things Michelle has done to the place.

Dogs, cats, lizards, pet mice, all of them fried up and eaten with only their hides and bones spit out and kicked under the sofa. Probably a couple hundred pounds eaten every week.

And frankly I am suspicious of anyone who has never eatten something they killed and skinned themself. The urge to hunt and kill is as nessasatry to humans as disk drives are to computers, yeah we can function without it but its part of how we grow as a species. Why is it if I quote a scripture you call me a religious zealote, but you can spew your vegan idiosy and we all just pretend like you are just expressing yourself. Well I for one think you are stupid, if you want to talk smack about somebody like gov. Christi find a relavent point of contention. “He eats meat” is about the dumbest reason to dislike somebody I could think of. Its like saying you don’t like Rick Perry because he wears shoes. Humans behave like humans, if that surprises you, well that’s what you get with a college degree; a twisted political philosophy, a useless degree and a managerial position a the local fast food chain. I‘m going to go have a steak for breakfast and maybe after that I’ll go outside and do some sport fishing, just for fun.

Posted on July 27, 2011 at 10:43amOK, you have to remember that on Commercial Television the SOLE PURPOSE of having a commercial Television Channel is to SELL COMMERCIALS. – THAT IS ALL – Again the SOLE PURPOSE of commercial television is to SELL COMMERCIALS and make a profit. Remember that. There is nothing wrong with that, but remember that. Everything else that is displayed on a TV channel that is NOT a Commercial is there as GLUE, and is there ONLY as GLUE to keep the home viewer watching until the next Commercial Set, which is the important stuff, can finally come on. It doesnt matter if its movies, or cartoons or court trials or 24/7 news, it is all Secondary Glue to insure the main purpose of commercial TV which is an advertising delivery system. Now, with that in mind, remembering that each news story that Fox displays brings them over $10,000 due to the commercials which are shown before and after. Now imagine being that Son of the Animal Hoarder, your family already has a problem that seems to be too big for them to handle themselves, your Father is having mental issues, and there is some big fat faced Fox reporter shoving his camera into your house where there is obvious signs of family trouble, grinning and laughing and selling your family’s hardship to a bunch of grinning and back-slapping morons at home who are whooping it up at your family’s misfortune, all the while Fox News is making $100,000 dollars on your personal misery. Now watch that video again and see what you think…

I will remember that, Thank you. Your comment will not go unnoticed. Revenue to keep operations running? Who would of thought about that? ScruffyCat just to point out the obvious. It is necessary for business to make money in order to pay for employees salaries , health benefits etc. You know why? I claimed to be a Republican (since being in the Navy from 1984-88), but now I would say I was a yellow dog Republican, only voting for the R behind the name. With this administration I have become more aware that R and D doesn’t really mean anything. This administration has taught me the meaning of RINO and DIABLO. Not all people are awake, and I would assume the nuts are really still asleep and sheeple.
