London Olympic Ambassador Arrested For Rioting — After Parents Turn Her In!

London police arrested 18-year-old Chelsea Ives after her parents said they saw her rioting on TV. (The Sun)
A teenage girl accused of trashing a police car during the ongoing London riots has been arrested — after her parents allegedly spotted her doing it on TV and called the police.
Adrienne Ives told the Sun she has no regrets about turning her daughter, Chelsea, over to the police. She said she and her husband were watching television coverage of the riots Sunday when they recognized their daughter attacking the car.
“We were watching the riots. It was sickening. Then we saw her. To say we were shocked…” Adrienne said. “I love her. But look at what she’s done. These riots have cost people their jobs and even lives. We are going through hell.”
Chelsea, described as smart and athletic and among a group of Londoners picked to serve as “ambassadors” for the 2012 Olympics, cried when her parents confronted her, her father Roger said.
“There were a lot of tears. She did not try to stop us phoning the police, she knew there was no point,” he said. “The policeman said we had been brave. It was devastating when she was led away. I don’t want my daughter to prison. But we would do the same thing again.”
Prosecutors say she threw a rock through a store before yelling to her friend, “This is the best day ever!” Then, along with a group of a dozen rioters, she is alleged to have started attacking a squad car, throwing a brick and hitting it with a plastic road barrier.
Chelsea denied charges of burglary, violent disorder and causing £5,000 of damage to a police car and has been remanded into custody.

According to the Sun, Chelsea posted on Facebook that the police were to blame for the riots and that it was the owners’ faults if their stores were looted:
“pigs shuldnt ov killed dat last nyt init. Den dey wuldnt gt blown up….galz r goin to steal weavee. Bt is it stealin doeee. Cozzz da shop keeper aint f**** derr. Mugs.”
Her mother insisted she did the right thing in turning her daughter in.
“I love my daughter but she was brought up to know right from wrong,” she said. “We were not being brave, it’s what any right-thinking person would have done.”

One day I was yelling at my teenager for backing talking his mother and threatened to slap him upside his head if he continued to disrespect her, he threatened to call the cops. I told him go ahead and kicked him out of the house. He went to the police dept (right behind the hse) and told his story. The police officer told him he was lucky to have parents that care that much for him and he should be respectful to his mother. He hasn’t been direspectful since……

This does not make them outstanding parents. I bet you do not have to look real far to find a set of parents who happend to be minority, and happen to live in a poorer area, and whose kids were not out commiting crime. If I am going to praise a parent, it will be the one whose children are doing the right thing. Yes I know, no kids are perfect, and all will do wrong. Smashing police cars during a riot goes a little beyond just being “wrong”. This brat doesn’t need to be a goodwill ambassador, she needs be given a broom, coal shovel, and dust bin and told to get to work (with a Big Boss Man standing guard with a shotgun).

Look at what adults do and corporations do and get away with it. Why wouldn’t kids think the same. I am not blaming the parents. Nothing happens from just two people or in a vacuum. The world needs to change. Its time and has been time since god knows when for us all to grow up and take responsibility for what we do. Let’s start with countries and governments…then filter it down to families and kids.

I thought our education system was bad and this girl comes from a well off family, just imagine how ignorant the ghetto trash in England is!!!! This is sad, this generation will be running the world someday and that make me glad to be old, can you imagine the world with this kids in charge
