Longtime Dem Concedes to Duckie Pajama-Wearing Repub

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Democratic Texas Congressman Solomon Ortiz has conceded defeat to Republican newcomer Blake Farenthold.

Ortiz’s concession came late Monday, after a South Texas recount confirmed he had lost a House seat he held for nearly three decades.

The 73-year-old congressman said that although he hadn’t seen official results, he believed he picked up about 150 votes in the recount – but still lost to Farenthold by about 650.

Farenthold is the former owner of a computer consulting business and a self-described “sidekick” on local talk radio. He received strong support from tea party activists in a district that stretches from Corpus Christi on the Gulf Coast to Brownsville on the border with Mexico.

He is also the candidate who came under fire in October after pictures surfaced of him at a lingerie and pajama charity event.

Look out “interns”her comes another Slick Willy want-a-bee politician.PJ partys for everyone.

Makes me wonder where the Tea Party gets its candidates.Actuelly it doesen’t,there just another political party that will do anything for control, they all come from the same mold. This just happens to be Sarah’s mold for control.

Does anyone think Palin would be any different then Obama.Just another history makeing moment.Does anyone think this country can stand another history makeing moment??

I know I’m probably wasting my time here trying to explain this to you, but this was billed as a charity fundraier for 4 different organizations. If I’m not mistaken, The Crush Girls were sent over to the party by a radio staion as part of a promotional deal for their station.

It was all a very innocent incident that was turned into something hedonistic by a very desperate democrat congressman who could see the handwriting on the wall. He was about to loose his gravytrain and he was grasping at straws

Interesting fact – Blake Farenthold is the grandson of the late Sissy Farenthold – a very liberal Texas Democrat – http://www.nowtexas.org/nowblog/archives/2006/09/meet_sissy_farenthold.html

Why don’t republicans ever gain votes in a recount? I’ve never seen a republican come from behind victory in a recount. Except for Murkowski (against a real republican).

I voted for the fat guy in p.j’s—-after 27 years in office, it was time for congressman Ortiz to vamoose. With all of the cheating and lost and found votes in our elections ,voters were shocked that Farenthold acturally won! Hopefully, he will do a better job, and if he doesn’t, bye, bye, too.

It often amazes me that more votes are “found” for the person demanding the recount. I never read about them losing by more votes, it always seems to make things closer.

Ortiz was so bad, a guy in Ducky PJ’s whipped his behind, now, here’s what you do Blake, whatever you think Sol would’ve done, do the opposite. Good luck Congressman, make us proud. Most Mexicans seem to me to be Republicans that vote for Democrats, Mexicans are conservative by nature but their vote has been co-opted (bought) by the left.

It’s the “look what those guys are doing over there but don’t look at me” syndrome. It works very well in voting districts with lower than average intelligence quotients.
