Jamie Dimon: JP Morgan CEO and once financial supporter of President Obama
Jamie Dimon, a JP Morgan CEO and once financial supporter of President Obama, has allegedly defected to the Mitt Romney camp.
Dimon, a longtime Democrat who was once rumored to be on the “short list” for treasury secretary before Tim Geithner got the job, met privately with Romney on Tuesday morning before a fund-raiser at Brasserie 8¹/2 hosted by Highbridge Capital—a JPMorgan-owned hedge fund.
Dimon, who was spotted “in a discreet one-on-one” discussion with Romney, cannot legally publicly endorse a candidate because of his position on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. (But he still donated to Democratic candidates in 2008.)
While Dimon’s spokesman declined to give The New York Post a comment, a JP Morgan insider told them that Dimon has not attended an Obama fund-raiser and has not contributed to his campaign during this election cycle. What is even more interesting is that Dimon has met privately with many of the Republican presidential candidates.
“Dimon will continue to look bipartisan, then work behind the scenes to get a Republican elected,” says New York Magazine.
Political insiders are speculating that Dimon’s defection signals a massive rift between Obama and his former Wall Street supporters.
Calling them “fat Cats” in 2009 probably did not help.
“I don’t think the president of the United States should paint everyone with the same brush,” Dimon said in reference to the perceived hostility from the Obama administration.
One insider said, “There is not a person on Wall Street, with the exception of the genetic Democrats, who would get anywhere near supporting Obama. The hostility to the administration is huge.”
Romney has so far raised twice as much money as Obama from Wall Street, with at least 100 donors who backed the president in 2008 switching sides, reports Salon.
“It’s never fair to punish everybody regardless of their behavior,” Salon quotes Dimon of having said last year about Obama’s anti-Wall Street push. “There are good banks and bad banks just like there are good politicians and bad politicians, and I’m not going to sit here and accept that somehow it’s OK.”

This is no small deal…The CRF has pre-chosen most of the presidents of the last half century.
So why would they choose Romny?

I am sorry to say all candidates are holding fundraisers for campaign contributions especially since they may potentially have to run against Obama who will have a billion dollar war chest. Posted on September 28, 2011 at 11:40pmHave you done the numbers on Herman’s 999 plan? I do not find them favorable to the middle class with growing families and also for the low income earners. I do think that everyone needs to pay Federal taxes including the 49% who are not paying taxes but Cains 999 plan seems to be a temporary plan to move to a VAT type tax. As time goes on more and more people will evaluate the plan and they can decide for themselves. I am a Romney supporter but I do like Cain,I’m just not sold his 999 plan.

Cain 999 is not an increase in taxes! (Check into it.)
Report Post »slr4528
Posted on September 29, 2011 at 1:01amRationalman-Romney‘s plan is more detailed than Cain’s plan, that is why I said we will have to wait to see the details in Cains plan. Romney’s 59 point detailed plan can be found on his website,he also wrote a book on how to fix social security. The one thing I liked about Romney’s plan that benefited the middle class was the capital gains and the dividend tax were set to 0. Cain’s plan seems to benefit high income earners and businesses. Middle class families who are large consumers will probably pay more since they consume more for food, clothing, cars, trips, etc…One of Cain’s 9s represents sales tax in addition to a state sales tax. So when a family goes to the store to buy for example food and clothes they will be paying a 16% tax. Families will be paying a 16% tax on everything they buy. In addition to the other 2 “9′s” which I believe represent income and a flat tax. So I see this as a regressive tax that will negatively affect the middle and lower income earners. Bottomline-Cain needs to provide more details on this plan.

Posted on September 29, 2011 at 1:33amHerman Cain’s a super guy with a lot of talent, but leader of the free world, turn-a-round expert, experience working with government, Commander-in- Chief? Not quite sure he’s the man for the times. He’d have a lot of homework to learn his job for the first few years.
We are perhaps facing the pivotal challenge in our nation’s history. We need someone who can quickly bring together the best of the best Americans to rebuild our future. Marginalize Romney if you will, but he brought back the 2002 Winter Olympic from pending disaster to resounding financial success. He saved many companies from failure. He balanced Massechusetts’ failing budget. He’s been working hard behind the scenes for several years getting conservatives elected to the House, Senate, and state governorships–like Chris Christie.
Romney knows best most of the whole country’s political and business leaders and has the best record of inspired leadership in tough situations. And, he accepts no pay for public service. Cain would work well in Romney’s Cabinet.

Romney also took over the Salt Lake city Olympics and turned it from a 400 million dollar loss to a 100 million profit. Unfortunately Romney was elected governor for 4 years, of the most liberal state in the nation(legislature 85% liberal loons) so he obviously was unable to implement and pass conservative legislation in this type of environment. Posted on September 29, 2011 at 1:14amHerman Cain worked for the Feds for 2 years and his 999 plan is questionable for me, I do not like a consumption tax and 999 can easily turn into 10 10 10 or 12 12 12 or 14 14 14. Cain needs to elaborate more and provide more details on his plans. I also read that Cain’s Chilean plan for Social Security is not working well in Chile. By the way was Romney suppose to refuse the campaign money?? Would you prefer they donate money to Cain,Paul or Perry?? Wall street believes Obama is going to lose so they are directing their funds to who might win in the GOP. That’s all. It is no grand conspiracy theory. It’s simply politics. How would you expect potential GOP candidates to compete with Obama’s billion dollar war chest???
