Loughner’s Ex-Girlfriend Claims He‘s ’Faking’ Insanity

Ashley Figueroa hasn’t dated Jared Lee Loughner in years, but says recent accounts of the accused gunman‘s demeanor aren’t like the boy she used to know.

Figueroa and Loughner reportedly dated during high school when he was just 15. But even then, Figueroa notes, Loughner was using drugs — including hallucinogenic mushrooms — and had problems dealing with anger-management, claiming he used to “scare” her sometimes.

Additionally, Figueroa describes Loughner as a “smart” kid who may be faking insanity in order to lessen the criminal charges he faces over the murder of six and attempted murder of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords:

      The case being ruled on by Judge Roll, this report continues, was about bulk cash smuggling into or out of the United States that the Obama administration claimed was their right to seize under what are called Presidential Executive Orders, instead of using existing laws. The Obama administration used as support for their claim before Judge Roll, the SVR says, the seizing of all American citizens’ gold, in 1933, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s signing of Executive Order 6102, which was ruled at the time to be constitutional.

      Should the Obama administration win their argument to seize their citizen’s money by Executive Order without having to abide by the law was made more chilling this past week when reports emerged from the US stating that President Obama and his regime allies were, indeed, preparing to rule America by decree since their loss this past November of their control over the US House of Representatives, and in the words of the Washington Posts columnist Charles Krauthammer: “For an Obama bureaucrat … the will of the Congress is a mere speed bump.”

    This whole assassination coverage is FAKE. Why haven’t we seen so much as a picture of the mother and father? Why has the media failed to report Jarred’s family belongs to the same synagogue as Giffords? How do we know the school records are not FORGED??? to help Jarred get off easy on insanity for beeing a good assassin for Stalin? This is a watershed moment in American History and the media has been extremely secretive and sloppy. These are the things that are destroying the people’s trust and allegiance to American government.

      I think it was learned today that he had a friend that worked behind the counter at the store he bought the gun from. The friend has not been heard from since that was found out. I think he was interviewed a couple of days ago and Fox News Griff Jenkins was taking to his parents when he came to the door and slamed it shut on the interview. It makes it look like the friend is maybe in some sort of trouble if not legally then emotionally. We should pray that he is not getting to the point that Jared got to and goes off the deep end… I know that I am…

    Because he‘s saying illogical things doesn’t mean he’s not responsible for his behavior. His anger issues are important to consider. Just because someone doesn’t think like we do, doesn’t mean they are insane. He might be WRONG. I know that’s not a popular thought. He might be CULPABLE. He might be blamable.

    you know. he might be crazy but he was smart about the whole thing. claiming insanity and getting out of charges also means claiming you had no idea what you did was wrong. he cleared his criminal record…so he could buy a gun. he’s been up to something since september. usually they will all of a sudden flip and go out on a rampage like he did…but he was waiting to do this. charles manson is in prison…he‘s a nut but they didn’t give him a padded room.

    I saw this earlier today. It sounds like this young man has had problems for awhile. It is a shame that the sherriff ignored these incidents that were on record. I feel sorry for his parents but they overlooked the signs as well.

      ‘Magic mint’ hallucinogen under fire in U.S.

      Salvia divinorum leaves are a cash crop for poor areas in Mexico, but the powerful hallucinogen is coming under fire in the United States.

      Saturnino Allende crouches beside a mountain path and gently puts his fingers around the stem of a plant with rough, tongue-shaped leaves.

      “This is it,” he says about the powerful hallucinogen Salvia divinorum, known as “magic mint.” In just a few years, it has emerged from Mexico’s Indian village into one of the hottest drugs in the USA and a crucial cash crop for poor farmers here.

      The good times may be coming to an end, as 11 states have rushed to pass laws that restrict the use of salvia, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is studying whether it should be banned nationwide.

      “There was no legitimate purpose for that herb, and the things it was being used for were potentially harmful,” says Thom Collier, a former state representative who wrote the Ohio law that outlawed salvia in April. “We thought it would be better to deter this sooner than later.”

      A ban in Nebraska takes effect in September. California and Maine prohibit selling salvia to minors, and Louisiana and Tennessee limit it to animal consumption, as in scientific research. Ten countries ban salvia, and six others have restrictions on selling it, according to the Salvia divinorum Research and Information Center, a website about salvia.

      Wholesalers are already making fewer trips to Mexico’s Sierra Mazateca as the legal markets dry up. Carlos Campos, president of Aztecas Plants, says his company has a warehouse full of salvia in the Mexican city of Orizaba. He told farmers who grow the crop to cut production.

      “This is an important part of their economy,” Campos says. “These legal issues really hurt.”

      The United States and Mexico don’t keep figures on salvia sales, but Campos said business was booming until just recently. In 2008, he exported 8 tons of salvia leaves to the U.S. and Europe, up from 550 pounds in 2002.

      Videos on websites such as YouTube showing users laughing hysterically after a few puffs helped spur salvia’s popularity. A 2008 report by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said 1.8 million Americans have used the herb, and 756,000 had used it the previous year.

      On a recent afternoon, Steve Pollard, owner of Arena Ethnobotanicals, an importer based in Britain and San Diego, and Campos handed out roasted chicken, tortillas and beer to about 50 Mazatecs who had hiked two hours through the mountains to sell their salvia leaves.

      By mid-afternoon Campos’ truck was filled with black garbage bags containing 1,185 pounds of dried salvia leaf.

      Before salvia, this region about 170 miles southeast of Mexico City was better known for its psychedelic mushrooms. Albert Hoffman, the inventor of LSD, came here to try them with the Mazatec medicine men. So did the Beatles’ George Harrison.

      The magic mushrooms, salvia leaves and psychedelic seeds of morning glories make up the Mazatec medicine man’s “tool kit” to help diagnose illnesses, says Jose Luis Díaz, an expert on traditional psychedelics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

      The local healers grind the leaves into a drink and feed it to a patient. “It’s done in silence, in a dark place, to avoid any outside stimulus that might interfere with the experience,” Díaz says.

      The hallucinations can be intensely emotional and include feelings of floating above the body or having visions, Díaz says. Most foreigners smoke the leaf, says John Boyd, CEO of Arena Ethnobotanicals. “Head shops” and Internet sites sell leaves fortified with salvia extract, making them five to 35 times stronger.

      “It’s not a party drug, and it’s not a substitute for marijuana,” Boyd says. “Most people try it once, put it in a drawer and never touch it again.”

      Many farmers here say they don’t really understand the legal issues over salvia. Federico Basilio looks confused when a reporter refers to the leaves as an enervante, or drug.

      “I don’t really know how they use (salvia) up there,” Basilio says of the USA. “But for us, it’s been a good crop.”

      In time we will learn about this Shariff right now it looks like he blew it and may be trying to cover up is mistakes. He may not be in any legal trouble but politically he could be in trouble and be fired, but I am no lawyer and so lets wait and see what he should have done that he does not want anyone to know about. If he is fired the Left will give him a job and he will be able to run his mouth in some other format.

      He sounds like a average teen. I think she was looking for a bit of attention and were looking for more news where it doesn’t exist. They could interviewed any kid in America and find the same story.
      This kid was disturbed and is a product of our educational system, they focused on not hurting his feelings and his self esteem and he never got a good dose of discipline and expected to get what he wanted when he wanted. We’ve got a hold generation of this coming our way.

      It’s a matter of doing the right thing, as the mom did who turned her “jihad” son over to police because she was afraid he would hurt someone. There is a “what will our neighbors and friends think” attitude that prevails instead of “what is the right thing to do”. In reality, the neighbors and friends would probably be happy if the parents did turn their child in so he could have gotten help, which apparently he needed beginning years ago.

      I talked to my Pastor (pentecostal) and asked about this whole thing. If this sick twisted bastard DOES sincerely repent and is truely sorry for his sins (and God will know his true heart) than well, I reckon it is up to God. I really just hope he isn’t sorry. is that not a Christian way to think? No, it isn’t, but we are all falliable. I will be praying on this, hard.
