Brandon Lowry, 19, posted this photo and others from a recent duck hunting trip, resulting in a citation from Louisiana's Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. (Facebook)
A 19-year-old Louisiana man was cited after he posted photos on Facebook from a recent duck hunting trip displaying the 64 waterfowl he had shot.

Another photo Lowry posted online. (Facebook)
Louisiana’s Department of Wildlife and Fisheries cited Brandon Lowry for violating state game limits, shooting over the limit for blue-winged teal ducks.
Agents were alerted to Lowry’s photos, which prompted an investigation, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.
According to a department release, Lowry admitted to investigators he shot over the limit, capped at four per person per day, as well as went over his two-day possession limit of eight.
Louisiana penalties for migratory bird limit violations are fines between $400 and $950, up to 120 days in jail, or both. Additionally, hunters face court costs and forfeiture of anything seized for each offense, according to the department.

Posted on November 4, 2011 at 4:59pmHunting for food is something that I understand. Hunting as a “sport” is simply baloney. Growing up in WV, I was always around hunting. Low IQ rednecks and their guns thought it was funny to shoot anything, including other people’s pets that may have escaped from their yard, or even came close to their property.
Report Post »Shooting this amount of ducks is stupid. To the person who said he is a kid trying to prove he is man, thats a stupid answer. The kid then should have been taught better, instead he carries on in the footsteps of other idiots with guns before him.
I support real gun owners not idiots that misuse them.

Posted on November 4, 2011 at 9:26pmlooks like he shoots well, he is just a bit to motivated to stop shooting. Been a few times I went over my limit on doves. Just hard to stop when they keep flying in. My crappie fishing was even worse. I got into them one night, and put more than 200 in the boat. I think the limit was 15. I went down into the projects in Phenix City, Alabama, and gave them away. There were some happy poor folks to have some free fish for dinner.
Let us recruit him into the military, and put him to good use. I think this kid can be salvaged. Be thankful he was shooting ducks, and not wearing baggy pants, doing the gang thing, and shooting his fellow man.

You can now shoot ducks on Facebook. 3D virtual technology is becoming limitless. ;>)
Seriously though, I understand state limitations on hunting and strictly speaking and the hunter needs to follow those limitations but can we just sell these ducks for the upcoming holidays and get the hunter to promise not to do it again? I’d be OK with these results.

You hit the nail on the head! What a lot of hunters fail to realize is there’s a huge percentage of people between the hunters and anti hunters who can be swayed one way or the other. When they see stuff like this, they’re swayed towards the anti hunters who are working hard to take our hunting rights from us. How many deer hunters shoot a nice buck then strap it to the roof of their car and drive around the neighborhood a dozen times to show off their buck as the little ones write their letters to Santa and Rudolf. There’s a difference between hunters and killers. Hunters don’t do these kinds of things.
