Low IQ? Socially Conservative? You Might Be Prejudiced, Study Says

Does having a low IQ and being socially conservative make you more likely to be…prejudiced? Yes, according to a head-turning new study.
LiveScience breaks it down:
The research finds that children with low intelligence are more likely to hold prejudiced attitudes as adults. These findings point to a vicious cycle, according to lead researcher Gordon Hodson, a psychologist at Brock University in Ontario. Low-intelligence adults tend to gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, the study found. Those ideologies, in turn, stress hierarchy and resistance to change, attitudes that can contribute to prejudice, Hodson wrote in an email to LiveScience.
In the study, researchers used two forms of intelligence tests and a series of statements to measure social conservative attitudes — statements like “family life suffers if mum is working full-time“ and ”schools should teach children to obey authority,” LiveScience reported. From there, they captured attitudes about race using statements such as “I wouldn’t mind working with people from other races.” Researchers found a correlation between having a low intelligence in childhood and holding prejudicial attitudes in adulthood, and the relationship linking the two was social conservatism. In a second data set, researchers also found a link between poor abstract reasoning skills and homophobia.
It’s important to note that the study refers to social conservatism, not political conservatism, and Hodson pointed out the researchers weren’t implying that all liberals are smart and conservatives are dumb.
“There are multiple examples of very bright conservatives and not-so-bright liberals, and many examples of very principled conservatives and very intolerant liberals,” he said.
Still, that doesn’t quite take the sting away, Brian Nosek, a social and cognitive psychologist at the University of Virginia not involved in the study, told LiveScience.
“They’ve pulled off the trifecta of controversial topics,” Nosek said. “When one selects intelligence, political ideology and racism and looks at any of the relationships between those three variables, it’s bound to upset somebody.”
Regardless, Hodson said it’s a reasonable to conclude that a conservative ideology might appeal to those who have “trouble grasping the complexity of the world,” according to LiveScience.
“Socially conservative ideologies tend to offer structure and order,” Hodson said. “Unfortunately, many of these features can also contribute to prejudice.”

But as long as he wagered that his audience would be essentially uneducated and un-read, he could stretch their little imaginations however he wanted. Comic books work on the same premise.
Goldberg did nothing with that trash but provide adrenalin for the people who will actually shoot at us.

In one simple analysis, we note that American whites average an IQ score of 102, Mexican-Americans in the low 90s, and American blacks around 85.
We then note the group voting patterns towards income redistribution correspond very closely with the inverse of IQ. In our example, let us consider that the Republican Party is nominally against State-enforced redistribution of income. Now again turn to numbers. The majority of American whites vote Republican, around 35% of Mexican Americans vote Republican, and around 5% of American blacks vote Republican.
American Jews have a high IQ but vote Democratic because they disproportionally populate the halls of the State and its related institutions, and financially benefit from a bloated central governing structure.
Everything makes sense, when you think about it.

The study design is not so smart and neither is the progressive who is “interpreting” the “data”. Logical fallacies such as the one in quotes above are typical of progressives therefore my conclusion is that all socially progressive people contribute to the lack of order, structure and factual statements in pseudoscience, which was no doubt, funded by taxpayers.

In my younger days the science teacher forced all of his students to take IQ tests. I pulled off something well above average (I do not believe it to be accurate d/t self-doubt). I am libertarian/conservative (freedom focused). My first room mate at college was a great deal more intelligent than me, a 4.0 English major who took many a opportunity to ridicule me d/t my religious/political beliefs. One of those socialist/liberal individuals who desired for all mentally handicapped babies to be aborted once the prenatal tests came in. She also happened to be the most racist person I meet during my stay, always talking about those gross, stupid, loud black girls. Oh how such a rarity my life must be to have met so many exceptions to this obviously unbiased study. Huh, I suddenly feel lucky . . . or blessed.

I had to take a criminal psych course many years ago and if that female professor is anything like those who surround your husband I salute his strength to put up with them on a daily basis. From that point on in my continuing education I learned to never speak of my views and with some instructors just took the “garbage in, garbage out” attitude simply for the grade at the end of the course. My son is studying electrical engineering now and loves those classes since most are technical and the instructors rarely stray from the required subject. He does complain of his required periphery courses though. My wife and I warned him to be cautious and that some of these professors can certainly be vindictive. I barely made it through that course with a low but passing grade.

Now I think its more like a circle, one where liberals have managed to reach that point where they are actually the dumbest creatures on earth.
