Retired Army Lt. Colonel Allen West was one of the GOP’s big winners Tuesday night, and one of two black Republican candidates to be elected this season. During his victory speech for Florida’s 22nd district, West spoke about American exceptionalism, confronting her enemies head on, and called out Washington’s Democratic leaders.
Said one supporter who posted the speech, “I’m 40 years old. In my lifetime, I‘ve only seen 2 political candidates that made my ’toes tingle.’ President Ronald Reagan, and our new congressman, Allen west.”
Others seemed to agree. Spontaneous chants of “U-S-A” erupted right before the crowd sang the National Anthem:

Soldiers are molded by their Drill Sergeants to be “Defenders of the Constitution” then their service to this GREAT nation molds their character. When you really love this country you don’t bow nor make excuses, he wont. God Bless America and God Bless LTC West!

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 11:06pmLt.Col. West, one of a rare group of constitutional, great american; We can seek to live up to the heroism of “The Greatest Generation”. I would be less than honest though, not to point out a few of the barriors before us. Nearly 100 yrs. of the insidious destruction of Progressive movement, the indoctrination of our children, though 40+ yrs. by teaching revisionist history, and IMHO the most damaging ,attempting to subvert our most significant document blessed to us through divine providence…And turning away from our Creator, which voids our eternal inalienable rights.

Thankfully black Americans have another role model to look up to rather than the thugs in hip-hop, Obama, or the token black Democrats from the civil rights movement. West will be like Rubio, a shinning example of the inclusiveness of the Conservative movement as we continue our fight to take back our country. Thank you Lt Col West. Our prayers have been answered.

Too many want to cry out Racists when it has nothing to do with racism, it has to do with the type man or woman wearing the skin and what’s in their hearts that count. Black, brown, white or red, it‘s what’s inside that counts and if they are creepy jerks, mean spirited and corrupt, or bad, that has nothing to do with skin color. We have all had bad experiences and most have to do with bad people not skin color. Love Allen West.

Alphonzo Rachel (look this cat up on youtube…he’ll blow yer gourd…) then I suppose you are right. It would make me giggle were it not utterly enraging to me, that left left calls conservatives “racist” and “repressors”. We want EVERY American to succeed! (”cept for the Irish, of course…”…that was for you, WEDON’TNEEDNOSTINKINGBADGES) We have SO MANY fine Black conservative leaders and minds. And the only reason I single them out as “Black” is the relevance to this conversation.
In boot camp at Parris Island South Carolina, my Senior Drill Instructor told us that there are no white, no black Marines. Only “light green” or ‘dark green”.
Nuff said, and Semper Fi, Lt. Colonel Allen West. I salute you for your victory and your personal sacrifice to your troops. You are among God’s Chosen, Sir.

Fortunately the predicted right wing landslide didn’t occur in this election. For every horror show like Rand Paul or Ron Johnson, there’s a Progressive victory: Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer, Jerry Brown … And maybe, just maybe Barack Obama will abandon the useless chimera of bipartisanship and treat Republicans as reactionary extremists who deserve no more consideration than they gave him during his first two years.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 3:04pm@ Dra – You should look into the story of his Iraq story a little deeper. He knew what he was doing was against military protocol. This man knew an insurgent had information about a looming ambush on the troops under his command. He told everyone to leave him alone, so that no one else would be held accountable for his decision, and preceeded to fire his weapon NEAR the insurgent’s head to prompt the scum bag to divuldge the deatils of the ambush. Once he had gotten the inforamation, he gave it to his superiors, as well as report himself for breaking the rules.
He potentially saved the lives of many American soldiers under his command, and he has no regrets about how he handled the situation.
You refer to him as jingoistic for sacraficing his career to save american lives? That’s what I call a hero. If you had the opportunity to potentially save the lives of your friends, would you not do the exact same thing? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
