CNN Host Morgan Ambushes British Lawmaker Over Saying He Hacked Phones

CNN host Piers Morgan unleashed on-air fury against British MP Louise Mensch after she claimed on the floor of Parliament that Morgan had “boasted” of hacking into phones in his book “The Insider.”

MP Mensch made the accusation during a televised session of Parliament that during his tenure as editor at the Daily Mirror in the UK, Morgan claimed in his book to have hacked phones for scoops. Mensch even claimed that Morgan’s book contained a phone hacking tutorial.

That, Morgan says, is entirely untrue.

Morgan is now demanding an apology from Mensch, but he cannot count on Britain’s notorious defamation laws for what he believes is justice. MP Mensch made her comments on the floor of Parliament, giving here ironclad protection against any such suit under British law. And she has already said she isn’t taking back a word of it.

Watch the CNN clip below to see Morgan respond to the accusation (and read the blurb in question), and then call into Wolf Blitzer’s show and ambush Mensch, accusing her of “cowardice” and an “outrageous attempt to smear my name:”

The old “bert is cheating on ernie” hack is hacking, typing 1234 is not hacking.

That is odd that they would go after him considering he is such a loud and leftist moonbat. HOWEVER, the truth needs to be known about his former job and how he ended up leaving. Lies aren’t the way though. I could do without Piers—but you don’t go after people on lies and lies alone. It destroys the ultimate objective in exposing people. If no one can trust what you are saying, you are accomplishing zero.

Aren’t any of you READING the article. I don’t like Morgan, but the TRUTH is that his book said no such thing. From the linked article:
‘In an entry dated 26 January 2001, he says: “Given that the DTI has not to my knowledge leaked anything about this case to anyone, I am mystified. But someone suggested today that people might be listening to my mobile phone messages. Apparently, if you don’t change the standard security code that every phone comes with, then anyone can call your number and, if you don’t answer, tap in the standard four digit code to hear all your messages. I’ll change mine just in case, but it makes me wonder how many public figures and celebrities are aware of this little trick.”‘

This site and its leaders seek the TRUTH even if it isn’t what you WANT to hear. Morgan, as nasty as he is, never wrote of hacking. Did he ever hack? Probably, but the PM lied through her teeth on this one and NO LIE by a politician to the people is forgivable.

The sad truth is this whole Fox scam is over someone getting someone’s voicemail, typing 1234, it truly should be a non story, it’s hardly hacking.

I‘m astonished he thinks so much of himself to worry about being smeared when he’s the one who…

“quickly gained notoriety for his invasive, thrusting style and lack of concern for celebrities’ right to privacy, claiming that they could not manipulate the media to further their own ends without accepting the consequences of a two way deal.”

Probably a publicity stunt to get higher ratings for his lousy show.

    Ok This IS about Fox.
    Follow me here….
    Rupert Murdock owns Fox
    Piers Morgan works for CNN
    CNN HATES FOX!!!!
So If Piers: who works for CNN; is seen to be tied in with the problems in Murdocks british companies,… it becomes very difficult for CNN to beat up Fox for being owned by Murdock.
CNN has been trying to link FOX to the British mess.
But in true CNN form,…they have been linked to it through Piers and Fox comes out squeeky clean!
    There IS a God!
    Go FOX!!!!

From other news reports this hacking activity has been committed by a number of journalists working for several Tabloid Newspapers. The lib’s attempt to smear Fox as well as Murdoch with guilt by association would be the same as immediately holding Obama and Holder responsible for Fast And Furious. Of course in my humble opinion they are involved. Obama may have coated himself with Teflon, but it is getting sticky for Holder. Go Fox!

Even if this guy is one of the worst liberal progressives on the media; the fact is simply this, if he is indeed innocent of these charges an apology is absolutly demandable, otherwise, the lady should show the proof of her accusations and if true, bring him before the court of law to explain his violation of the nations laws and standards.

You don’t need context. Truth has no agenda, as Beck always says. What she said seems to be a lie, evidenced by the fact that she was unwilling to repeat it unless she was not liable for her words. One can draw a negative connotation from that, and she should appologize for lying. It’s not about Morgan, it’s about her lie.
