As for George Lopez, didn’t he once state “television was too white” and therefore he lost my respect a long time ago. I actually felt touched by the story his wife gave one of her own organs (kidney or liver I think) then his statement made me think differently of him. He’s a liberal loon, that’s all.
As for your exit question: It is amazing, the very thing that made them successful is the very thing they detest so much. Capitalism. Funny but stupid.

Report Post »I was going to make a comment to the posts above to advise them not to be irritated with Maher. You’ve got to consider the people that he appeals to. Folks who need to tear others down in order to make themselves feel good are drawn to him and they are the dregs of our society. His vulgarity appeals to vulgar people and so on.
I, personally, invite Maher to continue his loathsome rants, which are so highly regarded by the left and the extremists. It just makes me feel like, thank God he’s not on my side of any of his deplorable arguments. When you stand back and consider all of the disturbing characters that are promoting the left wing agendas it becomes very clear where decency and honest intellect reside. When you look at it that way, you can see that the Bill Mahers, Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloys, Joy Behars and such are really doing the world a favor in exposing the left for what it is. Of course it’s terrible that so many people think that way, but they are the minority and hardly worth the emotional energy to hate them. So, be of good cheer, believe in the good people instead, there are more of them.

They have ruined the schools so many of these folks can only vote for the group which promises to continue the handouts.
Look at whats left of the once proud city of Detroit. Look at Bedford-Styvasant in NYC, Yonkers in NYC, and the blighted areas all over America where the Democrats have been in power. This is the real American tragedy. People so used to a hand out, they don’t recognize a hand up. Of course now add tthe illegal hispanic population, adding to the burden.
This is a problem so large that no one will ever solve it. Government taxing and regulation encourages manufacturers to move overseas thereby exacerbating the problem. Why, the government has even subsidized companies to open plants in “Impovrished” countries there by stealing away American jobs. Yep, Jim Jones IS leading us to the suicide pact and we can’t see it.

Maher never offers up solutions… he just sticks to his narrow talking points on specific situations, only to completely contradict them elsewhere when it suits him.
I used to watch him, and have come to the conclusion that he doesn’t remember the things he says. He’s so focused in his attacks and moves from one to another so often, he doesn’t realize he attacks himself regularly. A lot of his arguments are based in logic, but they throw away so many other aspects of reality they just aren’t feasible. It sounds great until you step back and think… but on the spot, in the audience, you just go with it and clap.
He finds one angle, runs with it, and when it’s worn out will take the opposite line of reasoning on the next event, because it too contains more raw logic people will feel connected with. It’s that energy that he taps into… that direct connection to people’s minds. Pure, unadulterated logic that makes you agree until you stop and realize that it doesn’t work in practice, and in many cases is dictatorial in nature.
You can make life a living hell with pure logic. Humans aren’t logical. Life isn’t logical. Emotions aren’t logical. His own sense of humor isn’t logical. There is a place for pure logic, but for the most part it’s a balancing act. Life is dynamic and abstract… people like Maher cast that aside when it’s convenient, just to be “right”.
He just likes to argue. Definitely not a stupid guy, but not in any position to call people dogs. I’ve destroyed his logic a thousand times, sitting on my couch.
