Maher on Opposition to Obama: ‘Almost All of It’ Racially Motivated

Appearing on Bill O‘Reilly’s  “The O’Reilly Factor” last night, liberal talk show host Bill Maher offered a hypothesis as to why Obama’s approval ratings have plummeted: the country is racist.

O’REILLY: But there’s something more in play here, I think, and I just wondered if you had noticed anything about the President’s presentation or the way he goes about his job that you might point to?

MAHER: Well, obviously, people think he’s a little bloodless. I happen to like that in a president. I like a president that uses his brain and not his faith or his heart or his gut as the former president did. I kind of like that in our president. But, you know, again, they don’t brag about their accomplishments and when you downplay the economy, all of the dissatisfaction with him is about the economy. Of course a lot of it is racially –

O’REILLY: You think it’s racially?

MAHER: Almost all of it.

O’REILLY: You‘re on that bandwagon of if you don’t like him, you‘re a racist and you can’t be there. Maher, that’s not you. You can’t be there.

MAHER: Oh, so you don‘t think it’s racially involved at all?

O’REILLY: Of course not. You know, he was elected by 53% of the public and when he took office, his approval was over 70. Come on. Come on!

Maher also took some shots at Former President Bush:

But, Why is The Anti-Christ Obama Destroying America. If you truly want to know what is going on; Then you will have to accept these things as the TRUTH. Once you understand the following things; All things will be understood. So I tell you Obama is Satan on Earth, Lawless One, or what ever else you want to call this Demonic Figure. His words describe him, He is a False Hope, If you listen to him you will love him. He carries a Bow without an Arrow. He will conquer all through his speech, his false hoods will capture all who sit and listen to him.
    2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Maher likes to sound esoteric and important and can do so as long as people make him (seem) relevant. Of what use is the Maher interview. It reveals how shallow Maher is. For an intelligent man like Maher not to at least acknowledge that the President and those that selected him, raised him, educated him ad then paid for his election and now run him (or at least manipulate the strings) are radical socialist/Marxists, shows he does not look at the real facts behind this man and his comrades before calling those that oppose him racists! But what is New here? Facts don’t seem to have any impact on mass media analysis and reporting. They draw their opinions from someone else’s opinions or they get it from the “humorless-comics” on TV. (hhmmmm commie-comics???)

Maher willfully ignores the facts, trys to pull the race card and treats the audience like childern who don’t know any better.

He merges partial facts and ideologically-based opinions and trys to present it as truth and reality to create scapegoat arguments to carry the water for a failed administration with endless policies that are clearly not in the best interest of this nation.

Grand overspending, continual waste of our tax dollars, special interests paybacks, career-politicans who vote protect their phoney-baloney jobs — rather than in the best interest of their constitutes and the American people are common ground that both parties should be able to agree on as “bad policy” that needs changed immediately. His main argument is that disatisfaction with the president is all based on the economy and the problems with the economy are all Bush’s fault.

Maher should rename his show from “Real Time” to “Real Clueless”.

Well considering the fact that Maher denies any “extremism” on the “left” he’s borderline delusional.

He did make a couple of semi-valid points…“conservatives” do prize individual rights & merit (which he describes as being selfish), the thing is…I applaud his wanting to help the poor etc. The difference is that I believe that helping others is a choice, Maher seems to believe that it should be achieved through Government force.

This is the fundamental argumaent choice vs. government…given the Governments track-record I have a difficult time understanding a guy like Maher (who comes accross as being smart) believing that the government will ultimately get it right.

-mintyfresh- You are quite the ‘name-caller’ based on your own pre-conceived notions. ‘Don’t Ask, Don‘t Tell’ (meaning I don’t need to know) is the most non-confrontational approach to dealing with homosexuality in the military. Your error is that you think being homosexual is a race issue when it is nothing more than a sexual preference. I have no need to know someone is homosexual anymore than I need to know someone likes whips & chains, I disagree with both and I am offended equally if someone pushes the idea or the notion that I must accept their ways as ‘mainstream’. Those ideas and practices are not mainstream thinking and there is thousands of years of history to prove it. Anymore than I have the right to force you to be a moral christian or ‘brow-beat’ you personally with the notion, you have no right to do the same. As far as Muslims go I am not afraid to say that they are misguided at best, blood-thirsty terrorist murderers at worst. What of the plight of women’s rights, homosexual intolerance, or different religious views by the ‘mainstream’ Muslims? Where Muslims kill and torture those who don’t fall in line (in their own countries and here through ‘sharia’ law increasingly), Christians (true Christians) give their point of view only when asked or when the opposite view tries to force them to accept what they believe in their hearts to be wrong. So who is truly intolerant, those who voice their disagreement boldly or those who actively, violently destroy any who oppose theirs? The two points you brought up as being ‘railed’ against vehemently oppose each other, what’s that tell you?

No answer from Maher, except to qualify his statement and say “so you don‘t think it’s AT ALL racial…plain and simple – the Dems as a group misread the mandate of the election, which was to govern and reach consensus on what is best for the country – not bully your programs through without regard to what the electorate wants…until the Dems admit and correct that mistake they will return to the minority party.

Mahr is a legend in his own mind. If you have any dissent towards Obama or the Liberals, your a racist. I say the same back then. All of the liberals and Obama are racist, they dissent against the right. It’s just plain ridonkulous!

People who insist that all opposition to Obama is racially motivated seem unable to conceive of the idea that opposition may be based on his policies. This makes me think that THEY are the racists, since all they are thinking about is his race.
It also shows a ultra paternalistic view that a black man can’t stand or fall on his own ideas and efforts. It’s all about his race. That’s insulting!!

Maher is on HBO. Don’t like him? Cancel your subscription. Boycotting isn‘t the best solution but these days it’s the only power the people have left.

Bill Maher considers himself to be a more highly evolved intelligent being who‘s great mind can’t fathom having to exist among “the stupid people” of America. He‘s just another lib who’s view point is so uninformed that you have to walk away because he’s not worth it.

I agree, but unfortunately the people watching his show are the same people who voted Obama in. He is completely corrupting a whole generation with his ideaology.

He was never relevant. Paris Hilton and Lady Gaga are as relevant as Bill Maher in the political discourse of this country. Meaning not at all.

I am disappointed that OReilly didn’t take him up on calling teaparty… teabaggers. But then I guess what can you expect from him. He doesn’t yet realize or refuses to see what is really going on in this country.

Leave it to the most outspoken, closed-minded far-leftist celebrity ‘Bill’ to equate faith with what he actually is. In full view he demonstrates the intolerance of liberals, their unwillingness to accept different points of view, and their wicked immaturity to call people names, and attack on a lying, personal level. He takes out of context their own words that usually fully describe their beliefs in a clear, concise manner when read in full. He doesn’t even know the gospel, that the new testament does away with the old testament, which was an accounting of a much harsher, stiff-necked, hard-hearted people. The message of Christ was in and through Him the ‘old law’ was done away.

Why is it that it’s always the people on the left that notice that Obama is a black man. I look at Obama and see the President Of the United States. Maher and many other liberals are fixated on the fact that Obama is Black and is the president of the United States. Can’t people just oppose bad policy without being considered a racist.

I think he is right….I was raised in a time when whites and blacks were separate – separate schools, separate neighborhoods, separate water fountains and in the south especially, those old prejudices are hard to die away. I think he is exactly right – most of the hatred, and it is hatred, for the President is partially motived by racial prejudices which perhaps most people have sub-consciously and will go their grave saying they are not. But they are – most of it is racially driven.
