There is usually plenty to dissect after one of Bill Maher’s Friday night shows. But this one may leave you scratching your head. In discussing Maher’s theory that Beck & Palin fever has cooled across America, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Namby Pamby Land) shared his thoughts, and fuzzy math, about the Beck audience. To him we’re all extras from Deliverance.

I think in their warped little brain they actually feel they are pretty far right/conservative…The problem is Glenn Beck overpowers everything in their life. They are so obsessed with Beck that he has become their single motivating factor in life. They spend 5 hours a day listening to Beck on the radio then an hour on the TV show. Not only is Beck’s website open in their browser 24/7 but they are a premium member…Which most of us are not…They are beckophiles, they know about anything Beck. If Beck has uttered it they can (mis)quote it. They live on The Blaze. Why? To spearhead the anti-beck campaign to try and save the Republican party from his evil clutches…

He just happens to take more issue with the latter than the former group. Also, I do not think he tries to be fair. I was referring to his being fair in this case, in contrast to Beck is never is with regard to liberals or even moderate republicans. And there was no skew here. Beck’s audience amongst his most important demo has declined nearly 50% yoy. That is a fact. The conflict of interest embodied in Justice Thomas and his wife is a fact, not an opinion. And Maher (unlike Fund or Weiner) sees a problem with this regardless of which party benefits–and only a fool would think he is the partisan one in that instance. You are so biased ideologically and politically that you cannot see the facts even when they are presented to you on film.
Why, I am not a communist, so drop the silly monikers. Also, I don’t really find the discussions on theblaze.com nuanced. I see a bunch of group think and a few more moderate voices that are attacked constantly and usually with ad hominems rather than real analysis. Conservatives here, like Beck who they love, doesn’t do nuance…at least that is one person’s view.

If we indeed dismiss and disparage Mr. Weiner not out of fear but for his views, politics, and world view, then we must assume that others do the same where Ms. Palin is concerned for the same reasons.

Weiner can be accused of being bad at rounding, but not dishonest with his figures. The overall audience is 1.8M, which is down a lot from last year. Maher is purposely using the term “fever” since that is what the late great conservative William F. Buckley called the crazies on the right that would become afflicted with the “fever” from the “swamps.” Maher is linking the declines in Beck ratings to the breaking of this fever, but the declines have been occurring for months now as Beck has become increasingly extreme in his rhetoric and personal in his attacks–turn-offs to the majority of Americans but not the tiny minority of less than one percent of the US population that is perpetually afflicted with the delusions that Buckley abhored and which most Americans caricature with the shoeless, toothless know-nothings. This cartoonish account is unfair, but so is Beck’s description of American liberals.

As O’Reilly would say, don’t be an ideologue. Just because someone holds to different views than you do does not mean you should make them your enemy. In this case, O’Reilly cannot be a RINO because he is not even a Republican and never claimed to be one. He is an independent and is indeed very moderate and leans left in many cases. Don’t let that diminish his opinions though, I disagree with him in many areas but I am always interested in what he has to say.

Wiener didn’t preface his comment by stating this was in one key demographic. Wiener doesn’t misspeak – he tells half-truths for effect, and if someone calls him on something, he’ll elaborate and try to justify his statement only if necessary. He’s been doing this for years.
While many disagree on the reasons for Glenn’s loss of ratings, he’s still #1 in in his time slot. The numbers chosen to show this decline compare Jan 2011, coming off an election cycle with relatively little going on, and 2010 during the height of the healthcare debate. Most major cable news shows were down or stagnant this January – the only ones showing positive movement were those with miniscule ratings that could be effected greatly by guests and advertising alone.
When Beck falls behind of other shows during his time slot, I‘ll question his show’s content. Untill then, everyone else is still just chasing the leader.

John Fund handed them all a lesson, shutting them all up with actual facts even though the numbers were a bit off by like a 1,000,000 but not the 3,000,000 Wiener was off by. He even had the “Scientist” agreeing with him, it’s hard to argue against the truth.

RE Clarence Thomas: Should Obama be President if he doesn’t know how many states are in the US?
