Maine Gubernatorial Candidate: ‘I’d Tell Obama to Go to Hell’

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Republican gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage told a group of fishermen at a GOP forum that he won’t be afraid to tell President Barack Obama to “go to hell.”

LePage, a favorite of tea partiers, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he regretted the words he chose Sunday in the small coastal town of Brooksville but that he wasn’t backing down in his criticism of the administration for what he describes as free-spending, antibusiness policies.

A Democratic Party official said it showed LePage is hotheaded and ill-suited to govern.

LePage was responding to a question when he made the remark about Obama, which was captured by a Democratic Party aide who was videotaping the event.

“As your governor, you’re going to be seeing a lot of me on the front page, saying ‘Governor LePage tells Obama to go to hell,’” LePage said to applause.

Well, there is one person I can support. Libby Mitchell, who is also running for the same office, has the backing of Bubba Clinton. Hmmmmph, Obama can go to Hell or an endorsement from Bubba?
That is a no brainer in November. If we could get rid of those two rino’s from Maine in the senate…

I did not vote for Obama and never will…..but for a candidate to tell the President of the United States to go to hell, is inappropriate. I would never vote for him. At least Rick Perry has class!! (He has balls too, he met the Presidents plane to hand him his concerns about the border, and the President dissed him.)
VOTE the democrats out of office and replace them with honorable Republicans.

Everyone needs to stop thinking about being political correctnes, its a tool of the progressives. That is what got us into this mess. People need to standup for themself and what they believe in even if that offends others. Dont respect someone just because they have a certain title or position. Respect them if they have truly earned it. Do you think obama is worthy of respect because he earned the noble peace prize for just WANTING to get rid of nukes, or winning an election by telling people what they wanted to hear so he could get elected?

While I do admire his willingness to tell Obama what I would tell Obama, and while I do believe someone needs to stand up to this worthless administration, I don‘t think they’ll listen to ANYONE except who they see in the mirror and will just brush it off and it will be meaningless. The only way we have to tell these moron idiot elites to go to hell is to GET OUT AND VOTE! That will show them and their egos that they are, in fact, expendable.

In the our modern politically correct environment that is true that he may not have acted “statesman like”. Don’t you think that that may be one of the little problems, of many, with this country?

Definitely true, not the most statesman-like thing to say, nor is it going to get people who don’t agree with him to listen to what he stands for.

But he’s going to get knocked around like a pin ball no matter what he says because the Tea Party likes him. So on one hand, I say “say what you like.”

But I also can definitely sense that politicians are feeding on the energy the right is exuding right now, and taking a lot of liberty on saying things that could be said better. We do need to make sure that the people we vote in are professional, and saying “go to hell” to our elected president isn’t the way to sound professional.

Let the left have the teenage-minded politicians. Gotta hold ours to a higher standard.

populist?? perhaps. Obama ain’t the only one who is the problem.—here’s another idea: why don’t we move the nations capital every 5 years by a lottery draw? that way we can alter the entrenched powers in the greater DC metro area. one year the capital is in Jackson, Mississippi, five years later it is in Butte, Montana, five years later it is in Bangor, maine etc… it will keep the elites and corporations, special interests and everyone constantly on the move and unable to embed.—-it will add an air of unpredictablity and make powergrabs more difficult by the lack of stationary power….just an idea. cheers.

@Midwest Belle Unfortunately, NOT everyone knows about it. In fact, most people do not know about it because it’s not being sufficiently reported. It is, by far, the scariest story I have read in my lifetime. When a government gets into the business of burning books, bad things always follow. I can‘t promise you that I will stop putting the story in my footers because I probably won’t. And in all honesty, it goes into about 30% of my posts here. Not EVERY one, as you indicated. Also, not everyone is interested in every story, so that footer in a particular comment might cause someone to open their eyes to what this administration is doing to America. Few people would believe that our government could do this and telling people that they actually are is important in my opinion. Thank you for your critique. You may be more comfortable simply not reading my comments if my dedication to enlightening people about government book burning offends you. Peace and God Bless.
