Fort Worth Police Capt. Ken Dean gestures during a news conference about his department's involvement in the investigation and arrests at Texas Christian University during a news conference in Fort Worth, Texas, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012. A major drug bust is rocking Texas Christian University today, after 17 students were arrested on campus this morning. The invesitgation has apparently been underway for quite some time, as Fort Worth police conducted a six-month undercover operation to pinpoint individuals involved in selling illegal substances.
The drugs the students are accused of pedaling include cocaine, marijuana, “molly” (powered ecstasy), ecstasy pills and prescription drugs.
“There’s no doubt all arrested today are drug dealers,” explained TCU Police Chief Steven McGee. “These students engaged in hand-to-hand delivery with undercover officers.”
Among those arrested were four football players – Tanner Brock (linebacker), D.J. Yendry (defensive lineman), Tyler Horn (offensive tackle) and cornerback Devin Johnson, according to Fort Worth police documents. These players, along with the other 13 individuals detained — some of whom lived on campus — are all subject to immediate expulsion, according to KDFW-TV.
“I expect our student-athletes to serve as ambassadors for the university and will not tolerate behavior that reflects poorly on TCU, the athletics department, our teams or other student-athletes within the department,” said athletic director Chris Del Conte. “Our student-athletes are a microcosm of society and unfortunately that means some of our players reflect a culture that glorifies drugs and drug use. That mindset is not reflected by TCU nor will it be allowed within athletics.”
“We have a responsibility to ensure that our campus environment is healthy and safe,” said the school’s chancellor, Victor Boschini, Jr. “I want to make it loud and clear to everybody that if you want to do this kind of thing, you can’t go to TCU.”
Boschini addressed these issues during a press conference:
While the university is affiliated with the Disciples of Christ denomination, the student body comes from a diverse set of faith backgrounds. According to its web site, “TCU’s covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) supports an approach to education that brings together faith, reason and intellectual curiosity.”

Thanks for making fun of dangerous, deadly drugs that are significantly degrading our nation.
75% of all child abuse is committed by substance abusers.
I wholly agree on liberty and freedom. But, until we fix our society and raise our children correctly to be strong enough and pre-determined enough and convicted enough to avoid them… Until then, we are not READY to assume the social responsibility that comes with that freedom and liberty.
It IS the way our nation is framed to function. But, we have departed so far from it, we have much work to do to get back to where we should be.
When a house has been ignored, and its foundation has sagged, you cannot jack it back up all at once. If you do, it will crack and break. However, if you gradually, incrementally, lift it up, you can successfully restore it to its original shape, without damaging it.
The new additions can and should be simply ripped off the structure. The foundation was never meant to support those cobbled additions, and they are only causing more damage by their presence.
RESTORE AMERICA
This will happen if we fix our people. We do that by RESTORING LOVE.
Love creates good people. Good people will want a free nation and will accept personal responsibility and accountability and be able to handle absolute freedom and liberty.
Ready to go to work?

Report Post »WHere did you come up with the 75% number, does that mean the other 25% abuse because it’s fun? Of the 75% how many are alcohol related, how many were Dr. prescribed abuses.
What percentage of the 17 TCU students were abusive parents?.. I know dozens of people who were party hound dopers in college, and now are great parents, other than they all spoil the kids.

Posted on February 15, 2012 at 6:41pmTCU maybe a a Christian University in name only. This is from the Brite Divinity School at TCU “The Divinity School asks all students, faculty, and staff when on campus to use inclusive language. This includes but is not limited to language about God, divinity, humanity, culture, nationalities, races, and religions, with regard to characteristics such as sex, gender, sexual identities, social class, age, and differing abilities. In addition Brite is deeply committed to diversity and social justice”.
TCU may have been a Christian University but not for a long time. Look at most colleges that were started by Christians . Notre Dam, Vanderbuilt, Oberlin College, TCU, They all have become anti Christian, just don’t have the guts to totally say they are anti Christian or disassociate. from the Christian faith.
As long as the colleges want social justice, they will be drug infested.
Unfortunately the zombies are going to use this to further erode and attack the Christians. I can see the late nigh shows, Colbert and other using this.

Posted on February 16, 2012 at 1:40amKAY2861, People think that Christians claim to be perfect. Not true. It is difficult to be a Christian in todays society. Especially for the young people. They may get off the path but hopefully will return to their core values. To expect Christians to be free of sin is ridiculous. We are human and none of us are perfect, we all have moments of temptation. I bet allot of folks will jump on this with critisism but I challenge anyone that would make the claim of never having a thought or an action that we know is against our beliefs. I do the best that I can and at least now instantly realize when I have fallen from grace and put an end to it. Some times on here when I am frustrated and angry I have said things that some might say is not in line with being a Christian. Maybe some kids were purposely put on this campus to tempt these young kids so they could use them as an example. Who knows? I do not think it is fair to judge the entire school for the 17 that were involved. I am happy that your daughter enjoys her school and is doing well. There are not many places where our kids can be safe from the temptations of our society. We live in a world that is deeply corrupted with evil and lack morals.

Posted on February 15, 2012 at 5:42pmThese could have been our future pastors. I’m kind of getting sick of Christians whining about how bad it is.
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. Lam 3:40
It does not say let us whine and complain about the problems. It says search our ways. And when it says turn again to the LORD it implies that in searching we find our ways are wrong. That’s the cold hard facts when a country goes down. As Charles Finney said…The pulpit is responsible.

until then we tax them 100% of the purchase price…just like they do for cigarettes and alcohol…all that money goes to debt reduction…granted…the illegal drug trade is only like 5-10 Billion annually but still…that is a start….
allow all the insurance companies to drop them or charge them more if they use…again..all money going to deficit….
make them pay all court fees when they get arrested…more money to deficit…
make their estate pay to bury their OD’ed body…more money to deficit…
dang this could get good…
