Make My Day: Clint Eastwood Endorses Romney

Clint Dirty Harry Eastwood Endorses RomneyClint Eastwood just made Mitt Romney’s day.

The “Dirty Harry” star and Oscar-winning director of “Unforgiven” and “Million Dollar Baby” endorsed the Republican presidential candidate Friday night during a Sun Valley fundraiser.

“I think the country needs a boost,” Eastwood told The Associated Press as he joined other Romney supporters for the private campaign event.

In February, Eastwood told Fox News that he wasn’t supporting any politician at that time. Some saw the “halftime in America” ad he made for the Super Bowl as a nod toward President Barack Obama. Eastwood responded then by saying he was not “politically affiliated” with the president.

“Now more than ever do we need Gov. Romney. I’m going to be voting for him,” Eastwood told Romney supporters Friday night.

“He just made my day,” Romney said. “What a guy.”

Standing at Romney’s side, Eastwood said he was filming “Mystic River” in Massachusetts almost a decade ago when he first saw political advertisements featuring Romney, who was running for governor at the time.

“I said, God, this guy, he’s too handsome to be governor, but he does look like he could be president,” Eastwood joked. “As the years have gone by I began to think even more so about that.”

Eastwood, 82, said he hoped Romney would restore “a decent tax system that we need badly … so that there‘s a fairness and people are not pitted against one another as who’s paying taxes and who isn’t.”

The actor and director instantly became Romney highest-profile celebrity supporter. Romney has also earned the endorsement of Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight and rock star Kid Rock.

About 325 people paid as much as $25,000 apiece to attend the event. Eastwood is a part-time resident of Sun Valley.

LOL, barber and his Alinsky tactics again.

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem. (Old saw: If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Activist organizations have an agenda, and their strategy is to hold a place at the table, to be given a forum to wield their power. So, they have to have a compromise solution.)

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

      Barber using number 11.
You attack Soy and others because you have no solution. You are part of the problem but refuse to accept that. The major problem our nation faces is over spending. Romney doesnt address it. Even 500 billion dollar cuts are not enough. You are just trying to keep your seat at the power table. The fact is for this Republic to live we must get rid of the current parties. The Liberty Movement is the best chance we have to restoring the United States back to the Constitution.

Barber and the rest of the GOP using number 12.
Ron Paul’s treatment. You couldnt use a better example in politics today than the way Ron Paul as been demonized.

Barber, we are just trying to open your eyes to the reality of the situation here. Romney cannot defeat Obama, it is impossible at this point. He does not have the base he needs. Obama is back up to +3 on the polls: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html
Romney has not been up in the polls for months. With only three months to go, this looks bad for Romney. Even the right leaning MSM Fox poll has Obama ahead by +4 !!

Some on The Blaze (Eagle something or other is one) have told that Romney is going to win by a landslide, after bashing me for supporting Ron Paul. I wish people on here would take Becks advice and research. All you guys do is bash and throw out some ridiculous statement without anything to back it up. Why don’t you start backing up what you say?

When I say, Romney’s campaign along with establishment GOP and RNC leaders violated their own rules, and violated federal law during the primary, I do not just say it, I provide a link, that has links in the article, to back up my statement: http://jaretglenn.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/how-the-republican-party-stole-the-nomination-from-ron-paul/

You can continue to support criminals like Obama and Romney, but I will not. You bash Obama for his Chicago Style politics, but you say it is OK for Republicans to do the same. Shows your character if that is the case.

I agree we need to be saved but the solution you have chosen is not much different.

      1. What does Romney do that is going to fix class warfare?

      2. Romney believes in man made global warming, not sure he is the man to take on the EPA.

      3. How does he build up the private sector? The private sector and the rest of the economy will be collapsing if we dont cut the overspending, balance the budget, and reign in the FED.

      4. I agree we need more pride in America. What does Romney do on that front?

      5. I also agree we need God in America. Which god though. I dont worship the god the Mormons worship. I worship the God of the Bible and the Jesus Christ of the Bible. Muslims also would say we need more god, but I dont want their god either.

“I don’t see myself as conservative,” Eastwood has stated, while noting in the same breath that he isn’t “ultra-leftist,” either. At times, he has supported Democrats in California, including liberal Representative Sam Farr in 2002 and Governor Gray Davis, whom he voted for in 1998 and hosted pricey fundraisers for in 2002 and 2003. A self-professed “liberal on civil rights”, Eastwood has stated that he is pro-choice on abortion and he has endorsed same-sex marriage.”

I want to thank Clint Eastwood, who just demonstrated what the distinctive sound of out of control government spending sounds like, and how to counter that ambush with a common sense tax policy that teaches the commies in the United States government who are finding themselves walking out the door, that a man’s got to learn his limitations in spending, or the American voters are going to vote the out of office?

Ooorah! We could neither confirm nor deny that Mr. Romney has asked Mr. Eastwood for any future roles in government, however a simple thank you for being what many of us grew found of Hollywood, and the kinds of films they used to make? Thank you Mr. Eastwood, for doing what many in Hollywood, seemed to have forgotten how to do?

You do realize we run budgets of 1.2 to 1.6 trillion dollars over right now? Romney says he will cut 500 billion a year. Well I am not a math wizard but that seems like after 10 years when Romney says he can balance the budget we will have 24 to 25 trillion in national debt and I would guess close to 150 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

Can we handle that kind of debt load?

The major problem Romney has is he will not win. He is a terrible candidate that GOP shoved down our throat. In 3 years everyone will hate Romney just like they hate McCain. Romney is more liberal than McCain.

“Mutiny, I am not sure that anyone on here has the fortitude to research the truth.” So why do you and mutiny stick around on the Blaze? Do you just enjoy b1tching and complaining that everyone on here is blind because we don’t worship at the feet of Ron Paul? Honestly, why do you patronize this website when all you do is complain about it? Do you also have accounts over at hufpo and do the same thing there? Is this some sort of “Ron Paul supporters strategy” where you frequent websites you hate but leave tons of comments? Do you at least get paid to do this???

Of course, rich democrats (many of them) are excluded from you guys. Didn‘t ask Kennedy or Kerry’s wife, who supported him, for 10 yrs. of tax records, only Romney. Why? Because you are trying to nail him on something because he is so clean. Envy is not pretty.

Oh, and there’s this from Clint:

“These people who are making a big deal out of gay marriage?” Eastwood opined. “I don’t give a f%^& about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not?! We’re making a big deal out of things we shouldn’t be making a deal out of. . . They go on and on with all this bullsh!t about ‘sanctity’ — don’t give me that sanctity crap! Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want.”

Guess Clint didn’t go to Chick Fil A.

I feel the same way as Clint. Allowing them to get married is no stain on our faith, it is between them and God…and if He wants a private chat with them come judgement day, then so be it.

Let’s get this nonsense overwith and stop wasting valuable time/money/breath on something God will sot out in the proper time.

Jesus told us not to judge, lest we be judged…trying to stop them from doing something to begin with, so we don’t have a need to judge them…is just as bad.

After the first 100 publicized cases where they get married and one side gets taken to the cleaners in the divorce (like heterosexual men do)…they’ll go back to living together instead.

Of course, I’d hate to be the judge trying to figure out who the “man” in the marriage is.

I don’t care either who marries who but this is about freedom of speech. When other companies have different viewpoints, politicians stay out of it but here they want them to keep them out of their cities which is illegal. We don’t have a Chic Fil A here but I would have gone to support freedom of speech.

I really don’t think he was endorsing Obama during that Superbowl commercial, he has always been a supporter of the American auto industry. And as for Perot, of the 3 choices, he was the most conservative, just crazy.

Besides, you do know at one point Reagan was a Democrat, and at this point, Romney needs all the help he can get.

At the polls, he will be there, saying, “Alright Punk, did you take 1 ballot or 2? Go ahead and try voter fraud, make my day.”

Big deal, I voted for Perot because I was mad at Bush. I vote for the person but in the last few years the dems have fallen from grace. Even Republicans are to blame for our messes. I wish there was a moderate third party but it will never happen. It is usually the far right or left that run under a third party. I do regret voting for Perot so now I can’t see wasting my vote on a third party candidate anyway.
