Malaysian Lawmaker: It‘s Cool For Men to Have Affairs if Wives Neglect Bed ’Duty’…But Not So Cool For Women

The AFP (Agence France-Presse) reports:
Malaysian men have extramarital sex because of “wives who neglect their responsibilities” to their husbands, a Malaysian lawmaker told Parliament on Thursday, outraging women’s groups.
“Husbands driving home after work see things that are sexually arousing and go to their wives to ease their urges,” said independent lawmaker Ibrahim Ali, according to online portal Malaysiakini.
“But when they come home to their wives, they will say, ‘wait, I’m cooking,’ or ‘wait, I’m getting ready to visit relatives’,” Ibrahim said.
“In Islam, wives are supposed to stop everything to fulfill their husband’s demands.”
But it’s not so cool for ladies to pursue adulterous relationships, as one married Indonesian woman found out today (she is being lashed):

BANDA ACEH, Indonesia (AFP) – Two couples were caned in Indonesia’s staunchly Muslim Aceh province on Friday after being caught having extramarital affairs, a prosecutor said.
About two hundred people gathered after Friday prayers to watch the four people receive their allotted lashes at a mosque in the city of Jantho, southeast of the provincial capital, Banda Aceh.
Sudirman, 43, and Irdayanti, 34, received nine lashes each.
“The reason for the harsh punishment is that both of them are already married to other people,” prosecutor Bendry Almy said.
The other couple punished were Rudi Setia Yudda, 40, who received seven lashes, and 18-year old Nuramalia, who received four.
Irdayanti, who is married to another man, cried as the punishment was carried out and afterwards fainted. She was treated at a local hospital.
The crowd shouted at Sudirman and Yudda, saying their adulterous behaviour had caused them to be flogged and asking that they be meted out extra lashes.
Aceh, on the northern tip of Sumatra island, is one of several areas in Muslim-majority Indonesia where Islamic sharia law has been adopted. Caning as carried out there is mainly aimed at causing shame rather than injury.
In December, two people were caned in Aceh after being caught having an extramarital kiss.

In Christianity, technically, the governing verse here is that husbands give over their bodies to their wives, and wives give over their bodies to their husbands. It’s not good for either party to withhold sex, according to St. Paul, as it encourages adultery. Celibacy should only be done if mutually agreed upon, and only for short periods of time.
I keep quoting these passages to my wife, but it hasn’t worked yet. =(

A husband that walks in and demands that she drop everything to “service” his needs does not love his wife and is using her for his own selfish ends. In fact, it is the antithesis of love – lust and I believe it is one of the seven deadly sins spoken of in that same bible. Love is giving to another without a desire for a reward, lust is taking without any thought as to how it impacts others.
