WASHINGTON — (AP/The Blaze) The White House says President Barack Obama’s oldest daughter, Malia, is safe and never was in danger during a strong earthquake Tuesday in Mexico.
Malia, 13, is on vacation with a school group in Oaxaca in southwestern Mexico, according to reports from the region. The U.S. Geological Survey says the initial 7.6-magnitude earthquake was felt strongly in Oaxaca (wuh-HAH’-kah). The quake was followed by an aftershock that shook southern Mexico, swayed buildings in Mexico City and sent frightened workers and residents into the streets.
Kristina Schake (SHAH-kee), the first lady’s communications director, says Malia Obama “is safe and was never in danger.” Typically the White House does not comment on the Obama children but made an exception because of the quake.

Posted on March 20, 2012 at 5:16pmYes, I know, it’s just a coincidence……like the unusual earthquake that hit Martha’s Vineyard just when Obama was there golfing last year..and also hit Washington DC – cracked the Washington monument, etc……like the Presidential Seal that actually fell off the podium while Obama was giving a speech a couple of years ago….other times when he was speaking the rats running in front, flies landing on him….yeah…..just another coincidence. But….I don’t believe in coincidences and I choose to believe God is making His displeasure known and he will not be our President next year…whch cheers me up a bit.

Posted on March 20, 2012 at 5:11pmWould somebody please call Child Protective Services (CPS). Merely sending a young girl into the most dangerous country on earth is clear evidence that President & Mrs. Obama are UNFIT parents…! Although our Secret Service Agents are highly skilled, a detail of twenty-five is no match for a cartel’s virtual army, if they were to attempt a kdnapping of Malia & her friends…
Perhaps the earthquake scare is God’s way of demonstrating their Presidential folly…! (Oh, I should’ve said “Allah‘s way’” to speak in their appropriate tongue!)

Posted on March 21, 2012 at 12:21pmThat would be really good if she was kidnapped and held for ransom then Obama would have to face that there are border and problems with Mexico that need to be addressed. Only when a person like him has a crisis that affects him personally, will he care. Right now, he don’t care about anybody but himself.

and it states as follows…. The city of Oaxaca has recently experienced violence and roadblocks related to demonstrations.
And then there is the media in Mexico City…..Canadian Mining Company Provokes Violence, Death in Oaxaca
By Carlin Christy, WFP Mexico
Community residents opposed to a mining operation in the Ocotlán Valley, just south of Oaxaca City, were met with gunfire from local officials last Wednesday January 18th. The attack has left one man dead and another woman injured. Both victims were part of the local coordinating committee that opposes the operation of a silver and gold mine in the community of San José el Progreso. Reports state that the municipal president fired the shots himself, or may have ordered other armed civilians to fire upon Bernardo Méndez Vásquez, as well as Abigail Vásquez Sánchez who is reported to be in fair condition.
Or this article…
Three people have been killed so far, most recently, Bernardo Mendez Vasquez, who was shot seven times on January 18, 2012 by a municipal police officer. Locals say municipal authorities ordered the police to attack residents who were refusing to allow a new water system to be installed on their land because they feared it would be used to supply the mine with water.

Hey Squaw, I am happy to see that you can do your own research, but you have to also learn how to puts things in their proper context.
All the violence you mention relates to a Canadian Mining Company and the adverse affects their activities have had on the local population. If there is strong antipathy towards the Canadian Mine Company, it’s not surprising Canada is issuing a warning to their citizens. But that doesn’t mean everyone is at risk.
”The city of Oaxaca has recently experienced violence and roadblocks related to demonstrations.” What American town/city hasn’t? If you were to avoid every area where a demonstation and violence could potentially break out, you’d end up unable to leave your house.
If you’d just see the context, and keep a positive outlook, you’d be a lot less scared squaw.
