Roy Cunnyngham Allegedly Beaten After Removing Democrat Political Signs for Ernestina Cruz From His Property

Police in Taos, New Mexico have spent close to a month investigating a case where a man was allegedly beaten after removing political signs placed on his property without his permission.

Across the road, a candidate for District Court Judge Ernestina Cruz was holding an event, and supporters seemingly placed signs on the man’s lawn to direct attendees where to go.

“I told them I thought it was very distasteful to put these signs in front of my property,” Roy Cunnyngham said, so he packed them in the car to return to their rightful owners.

At that point, a man allegedly crossed the street and told Cunnyngham to put the signs back where they were.  When Cunnyngham refused, he says, the man “pounded [him] in the chest.”

Sgt. John Wentz’s report elaborates: “All of the sudden two more men showed up and started to hit and shove Mr. Cunnyngham.”

Cunnyngham’s wife Joni also told police that she got out of the car to help, but someone held her from behind and kept her in place while the men beat her husband.  The couple’s son was also shoved aside, and prevented from helping .

“They just attacked him, all three of them,” Joni recalled.

A doctor treated Cunnyngham for cuts and bruises, injuries to his mouth and a concussion, but his main concern is that a month later, the perpetrators still have not been brought to justice.

While the candidate Cruz denies any knowledge of the beating, Cunnyngham said critically: “This lady wants to be a judge, but her supporters appear not to have an interest in justice…It seems like if people can get away with this, where’s it going to stop?”

A conservative website called Gateway Pundit coined a sarcastic new slogan for Cruz’s campaign: “Support Democrat Ernestina Cruz.  Or get a concussion.  Your choice.”

    We are going to see more and more of this thuggish behavior, wait till Obama loses and all holy hell is going to brake lose. The blacks, the gays, etc. the well , shall we be honest, the democratic misfits in general, will be out in force.       Under Texas law when they come onto my property with ill intent they are targets. I keep a 20 gauge pump just for that, It’s a 20 rather than a 12 because my wife is small and can handle a 20 easier (she shoots skeet with a 28). 4s at close range turn guts into an unrepairable mess.

      Good advice “Old White Guy”. They would have cordially removed the signs from my property, and if they resisted, at bare minimum they would been wearing their signs when they left. Any escalation on their part beyond that could have been a fatal move.

      I wouldn’t worry about any gay riots. They might throw glitter or something at people, they aren’t going to drag people out of their cars and murder them in cold blood like what happened in the countless black riots, which happen over something as trivial as a basketball game.

      Erm, no. Pepper Spray is an irritant, and one that usually fades inside an hour. Wasp Spray is a neurotoxin, chemically not too dissimilar from nerve agents used in WW1. Using that on a person in sufficient quantity will kill them, and any use on a person will get you some serious jail time.

    Fight them with their own tactics. Leave the signs there but put up your own sign next to them stating that “I believe in free speech but be aware that leftest trespassing democrats placed these signs on my lawn without my permission”.

      I didn‘t say you didn’t have the right to remove the signs!!!!!!! We need to learn to use the lefts tactics against them. Placing a sign next to the enemies get you more air time and says something to your neighbors and passing traffic.
      I tend to not be the type that thinks I should draw my 1911 if someone crosses my lawn.

    I am so sick of the double standards. The liberal elite in this country are going too far. If those signs were indeed on that man’s private property, he should press charges for trespassing as well as assault and battery.

    Or shoot the 3 liberal thugs when they beat him to a pulp ON HIS OWN PROPERTY.

    I’ll tell you – Obama and his minions want to divide this country up…..they want class warfare….they want to intimidate us……they want to do everything in their power to steal this election.

    If this country does divide into the Recipient Class and the Providing Class – I know which side I’m on. And I’ll defend myself and my family from them. We need to band together while we still can before the Recipient Class takes what they perceive is theirs already. The thugs that beat this man senseless have no interest in justice – they want our money, our possessions and to place us on the government teat, right alongside them.

    I’m done with it.

    I pray there’s still time to turn our country around before they totally destroy it.
