Man Arrested After Shooting Standoff at D.C. Mosque

A man was arrested in a shooting incident with an off-duty police officer Friday afternoon after being escorted from a D.C. mosque.
NBC’s DC affiliate reports:
The suspect became disruptive during a lecture about Memorial Day and service at the Masjib Muhammad Mosque in Northwest and was escorted out at about 2:30 p.m., NBC Washington’s Darcy Spencer reported.
“Now what he said was, ‘Sounds like you are recruiting,’” Imam Talib Shareef said. “Now, what he didn’t like was what I was saying. Today’s talk was on Memorial Day and commemorating those who make sacrifices. I was giving Islamic history and how it supports that and what the Quran says and how it supports that.”
Outside, someone noticed he had a gun and alerted an off-duty police officer. The suspect had put the gun down on the ground but picked it up again and pointed it at the off-duty officer, Spencer reported. The officer fired at the suspect about a block away from the mosque near P Street and New Jersey Avenue but apparently didn’t hit him.
It’s unclear if the suspect fired his gun. He is in custody.
Witnesses said they see the man at the mosque frequently but he is not a member.

All was well though because I am NOT a resident of Illinois, they could sell me ammo. So, as a non-resident of Illinois , I can purchase something in their state, without a license, that a resident has to have to purchase the exact same item. You people are pathetic, letting your government run over you like that. You do realize it is a guaranteed right in the Constitution? What did I expect from a state that elects people like O’Bammi, Rahm E., Blago, Dailey, and every other criminal from Chicago. Maybe if you had some guns, they wouldn’t piss on you and tell you its raining. Just sayin’.

The report is vague, lacking specifics, but it seems to be a fact, according to several witnesses, that the guy was saying to the Imam of this Mosque, “Sounds like you’re recruiting.” Taking that at face value, the guy was an Islamaphobe decrying what he say as the Imam trying to bring people into the Islamic religion.
The facts will come out, although you won’t see them on this website. Whatever. This really isn’t newsworthy except for the one point I make below. The guy is crazy, or he’s an Islamaphobe Christian, or whatever.
But did anyone comprehend the rest of the post? The Imam was celebrating Memorial Day and describing how Muslims should appreciate the day, because, although the day is not a Muslim holiday, there is a common tie with the Muslim religion. He was urging Muslims to appreciate Memorial Day because of the belief all people share: sacrificing for our country and remembering those that gave their lives to protect our freedom.
The Muslims in the mosque were Americans, their children will be Americans, and the Imam was encouraging them to honor and remember the history of this country. He was preaching assimalation into the American culture, while speaking to their religious hearts.

Today’s talk was on Memorial Day and commemorating those who make sacrifices. I was giving Islamic history and how it supports that and what the Quran says and how it supports that.”
We all know (or should know) that the quran calls the sacrifice jihad and murder of the infidels (that would be us..)
Perhaps the shooter was just getting a head start in following the dictates of his imam and the quran
