Man Arrested With Explosives at Michigan Mosque
DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — Authorities in Michigan say a 63-year-old California man who had explosives with him has been arrested outside one of the nation’s largest mosques in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.

Dearborn police say Roger Stockham was arraigned Wednesday on one count of making a false report or threat of terrorism and one count of possessing explosives with an unlawful intent. A statement from police says Stockham had class-C fireworks.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Michigan chapter says Stockham was arrested Monday in the parking lot of Islamic Center of America.

Stockham remained jailed Sunday on a $500,000 bond. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Friday.

Police didn’t know whether Stockham had an attorney. A public records search did not turn up a listed number for Stockham.

    When is some national politician going to call out the Muslim community in America to either buck up or get the hell out? If you come to America, and are allowed freedom of religion, that does not mean you take the radical part of your religion and work to damage the country you are in.
    There is so much hypocrisy regarding Muslims and Islam. Christians are killed all the time in the Muslim world and how much outrage is there that Arab Muslim countries ban any other religion and even kill you if you “insult” Islam.
    I truly believe that there has to be a “Come to Jesus” moment sometime soon. We can see that the Muslim Brotherhood is now endorsing that trojan horse, ElBareidi, and that if they gain power in Egypt, then the Middle East will blow up. The spread of Sharia is continuing and how long before pockets of Muslims in the US practise Sharia whether or not it is allowed? If they stay closed in their communities, who will complain? who will do anything about it?
    Obama, that ass kisser and useless human being, is a closet Muslim. And all this fits nicely into his black liberation theology….. got to have that redistribution of wealth from the rich “whites” to the poor, oppressed blacks.

      Loving your enemies doesn’t mean be stupid enough not to recognize a threat and defend yourself against it! You can love someone in the sense that you love them as a human being but that has nothing to do with agreeing with their lifestyle or even giving them the freedom that may even put your life and liberty in jeopardy.

      It’s just like the well quoted “We must give Muslims freedom of Religion” But what if that religion teaches that you kill unbelievers which is YOU. So essentially you are giving them the freedom to take your life which goes directly against your freedom to Life and Liberty, it is a contradiction. This is why Islam should be banned in the USA as a seditious group.

      In context to the story we are posting on, it was not a muslim threat or false report on a threat against non-muslims. It was a non-muslim who made a false report to a threat against muslims.

    Sorry Blaze, you just when down a point on my respect-o-meter. “Explosives” makes a great headline, but you should have done a little investigating on what Class C fireworks are. Let me give you a hint, you let your kids light them off on the 4th of July. If you want to be any different from the other news outlets you should stop regurgitating stories from the AP. You’re getting dangerously close to being on the same level as the Huffington Post and Daily Kos.

      Agree. I’ve played with class c fireworks my whole life. You can put out your eye and/or take off your hand, but you have to be young without supervision or just plain stupid and you know better.

      He was in the parking lot??? How do we know he wasn’t just walking home??? Did he have any bacon on him that he was going to blow up?? Now that might make sense.

      For crying out loud. The Blaze is exposing how the lamestream media attempts to make a big deal out of nothing. They are not justifying or giving credibility to the story. If you pay any attention you would know that. Do you think the story would have the same emotional impact if it explained that Class C fireworks are only explosives in the loosest context. That Class C fireworks are the same fireworks that most parents let their kids shoot off on the 4th of July? No, they mislead the uninformed public into believing he had real explosives in his possession in order to make it more of a story than it really is.

      Maybe there is more to the story. When we were little kids ( 100 years ago) my brothers and I used to make small bombs out of match heads for fun. It‘s a wonder we didn’t blow ourselves up. We bought boxes of matches at the store, (store clerks would willingly sell us multiple boxes of book matches no questions asked!) sawed the ends off CO2 cartidges, tore the tips of the matches off, packed the match heads into the small copper cylinders, added a fuse and lit them off, usually in the end of a 4 to 5 foot long 2″ steel pipe leaning on a stack of cinder blocks so the bombs would launch into the air. Occasionally they didn’t launch and the steel pipe would explode and split open like a peeled banana. When we were older we did similar things with cans of gunpowder. Lack of supervision, and lots of fun. Parents were at work. So, what are YOUR kids up to?

      LOL, Adnil. As a kid I made so many explosive devices I couldn’t count them all. Your match head trick, tennis ball can canons, modified fireworks, flash guns, etc. I’ll never forget going to visit my cousins in Alabama where real m-80′s were legal. I literally bought a suitcase and had it full of m-80′s when I flew home. Try that these days. I was the most popular kid in my school for many weeks. LOL, the memories…

    It seems unclear what the guy actually had, was it simply some large fireworks were they fashioned into a weapon? Too many questions here to for me to pass judgement. . . If the guy was there to hurt people he belongs in prison. If his intention was to simply light off some fireworks in the parking lot he deserves a fine or something, and if they cant decide what his intent was. . . probation.

      Grandmaof5, I agree. Not only because I wish No one harm, but the worse mistake that any of us could make would be to start the violence. This guy was another nut case. Just like the idiots that say things about harming obama. That would certainly cause extreme chaos that we do not need or want. We have to calmly and rationally sit back and continue to educate ourselves and keep up with what is happening around us. Exposing those responsible and seeking the truth will be our salvatuion, not violence. I am not saying that we should be foolish and unprotected but cautious and patient.       Funny isn’t it, AFTER 9/11 the FBI admitted they were well aware of the goings on in that Brooklyn mosque where many of the 19 terrorist were furthered along in their horrendous attack on us…why oh why would we ever SUSPECT that in any of the THOUSANDS of mosques across this nation that there would be any nefarious activities occurring? Why? If America doesn’t make the connection between the secular left and radical islam we are doomed!

      This is what you get from a completely incompetent (Janet Napolitano) Department of Homeland Security and senior cowards up and down the chain of command. This complete and total lack of testicular fortitude on behalf of the senior management of the United States Border Patrol and their desire ONLY to do what is right for their pathetic careers instead of what is right, leaves the American taxpayers once again footing the bill for something we have NO business being fiscally responsible for.

      The KKK hasn’t terrorized anyone in damn close to 50 years, and even then, they did very, very little, mostly blown out of the water crap like the left is very good at. Now if you want to use something current, compare Islam to real life terrorists organizations that are still active, like ACLU, NAACP, ACORN, SEIU, Black Panthers, each of those 5 have terrorized many, many times the number of people the KKK ever dreamed of terrorizing, and still do to this day.

      But I am curious,,,which was it,,,“one count of making a make a false report or threat of terrorism” ,,,,big difference there,,,which one was it?. As far as “one count of possessing explosives with an unlawful intent”,,,what did they think he was going to do with them,,,wipe his ass?? They were fireworks,,,,….I guess any of us that doesn’t use the legal fireworks we purchase for July 4th becomes a potential for being charged as….a terrorist??

      Are they called fireworks during July 4th and “explosives” the other 364 days of the year?

      There has GOT to be more to this story,,,,,,it does not compute.

      Roger Stockham VFW Post 5477 Bio; Born in Pasadena,CA; raised in Palos Verdes at a little community called Portuguese Bend Club; PV class of 65; typical surfer, did a lot of snow and water skiing, sailing, go cart racing; dad an architect, mom a decorator; joined the army in Dec 65, Engineer OCS, helicopter flight school, got married at 19, went to Viet Nam March of 68, based in Pleiku, flew Huey slicks with an assault helicopter company, saw a lot of action, got a lot of air medals, but not much else; gave the arny 7 years then spent a couple of years flying as a commercial bush pilot in Indonesia.—- They also said he has a long history of hating the US Government.. Who knows if this man is stable, but a surfer/snowboarder from California kinda might tell a little something about the guy.

      The ACTUAL, UNSPUN information includes that he had made threats before-hand, and that M-80′s are OUTLAWED in Michigan. “Dearborn police said Roger Stockham was arraigned Wednesday on one count of making a false report or threat of terrorism and one count of possessing explosives with an unlawful intent. Stockham had a large but undisclosed quantity of class-C fireworks including M-80s, which are outlawed in Michigan, Chief Ronald Haddad said.”
