Man Behind Controversial Anti-Obama Signs Breaks Silence: ‘I Have a Lot of Frustration’

On Thursday, we brought you the story about New Orleans resident Timothy Reily’s controversial lawn signs — you know, the ones featuring President Barack Obama as a puppet and a crying baby in a diaper (currently, there are four billboards).
Now, Denny Schaffer, a morning show host at New Orleans’ WRNO-RADIO, has the first and only (so far) interview with Reily, who explains that he posted the signs out of frustration:
“I have a lot of frustration built up with where the country’s going.”
He says he‘s upset about how Obama’s has handled the office of the presidency and that the signs reflect his opinion on the president. And apparently, he’s been putting up such signs for about four years, explaining that he occasionally rotates and changes them.
This runs somewhat contrary to other reports in which neighbors say he’s been posting these signs for “months.” While residents are clearly divided, Reily believes that most people are supportive of his public opposition to the president. He explains, “All my neighbors seem to love it…my neighbors are basically in love with it.”

Reily defends his free speech and the right to have the signs on his property, but some people aren’t so sure the billboards are appropriate — or legal, for that matter. As we reported on Thursday:
New Orleans residents protested in front of a local man’s house Wednesday after he put up several signs in his yard depicting President Barack Obama as a puppet and a crying baby in a diaper, with one city council member even trying to determine whether the signs can forcibly removed.

I didn’t see the story yesterday, so I don’t know that the Cain stickers were added, but I don’t think they are meant to deflect charges of racism. Mr. Reily ‘s Herman Cain yard signs were stolen (as mentioned during the interview), so he’s a Cain supporter.
Whether the stickers were added later or were always there, it doesn’t matter – liberal progressives always play the race card when they have no other argument. They can’t dispute what the billboard says, so they cry “racist”.
Using Janeane Garafalo’s logic, the very presence of a Herman Cain sticker is proof of racism (and so is the absence of a Cain sticker) in the mind of a liberal. Either way, calling the billboards “racist” is the only thing they have left.

He’s expressing himself in a manner that allows him to remain peaceful. Posted on September 30, 2011 at 6:23pmI live in a small (less than 30k “permanent” population) midwestern, predominantly conservative (farmers, retired folks, and state/county workers) small city, which wonderfully ALSO happens to host a very good State University (with a healthy percentage of graduate/doctoral students and faculty represented by MANY foreign countries). The TRUE diversity is great (what with the ‘hayseed/blue collar’ locals… and our annual crop of midewestern and forein-born students/intelligencia). One of our town’s most successful businesses happens to be a coffee shop/used-book/vinyl record store…. where many of the locals/students/faculty love to hang out (7 days a week, till midnight).
The very good proprietor (and wonderful human being) also happens to be a VERY strong/influential Democrat. And I remember quite vividly back to the day in 2008 when his coffee shop was one of the first public places in Ohio to display that now-famous Obama “Hope” poster (h’d had it professionally framed.. and later posted the newspaper clippings of Obama with our local coffee shop’s flyer/menu tucked into the candidate’s shirt pocket when Obama was campaigning around here….) As much as I love the shop owner and his family, I had to be talked out of defacing the poster by replacing/pasting over the “H” with a “D”.
I still think Obama looks like a well-tanned version of Alfred E. Newman, and this poster should’ve had the word “DOPE” underneath his vapid face !

I’ve heard Obama say, “The buck stops here.” Well, if he really meant that–and if it truly does–then yes, my dear–he IS responsible in HUGE part for the mess in which we find ourselves today. He kept telling everyone at the beginning of his Presidency that he IS the President, after all–sounding more like he was saying, I am King. And things shall be done as I say!”
