LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say a man believed to be connected to the slaying of publicist Ronni Chasen shot himself to death at a Hollywood hotel as Beverly Hills police served a search warrant.
LAPD spokeswoman Mitzi Grasso says the officers were serving the warrant at about 6 p.m. Wednesday when the man shot himself. The man‘s name wasn’t released, and his exact connection to the Chasen killing wasn’t immediately known.
Beverly Hills police Chief David Snowden tells The Associated Press that the man “was a person of interest only.”
The 64-year-old Chasen was shot to death two weeks ago as she drove through Beverly Hills on her way home from a movie premiere. Beverly Hills police have released no motive and remain tightlipped about progress in the investigation.
The shooting was first reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Posted on December 2, 2010 at 1:25pmThis doesn’t make any sense. An obious professional hitman, kills himself because police go to question him?
I have a couple of questions.
1. What was the name of this movie premier this lady went to go see before she was shot?
2. What is the background of this guy that shot himself?
Anybody?

Posted on December 2, 2010 at 10:54amI am sorry for his family. Taking your own life leaves a terrible burden on those left behind, both financially and emotionally. I pray the family will be able to recover with some kind of understanding as to why this happened. May God Bless

Posted on December 2, 2010 at 6:43amAlthough I do not know any details in this case, it has the feeling of a REALLY professional hit, paid for by someone who is extremely weathy. It takes a lot of money to hire someone who promises to kill themself if they get caught.

Posted on December 2, 2010 at 1:37amYeah man wanted no trial and figured he was guilty enough to take his own life. Gov. should chip in for his plot and stone. Since he saved us so much money in the courts.
