Man Planned to Kill Former Employer After Watching ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Notwithstanding a steady stream of positive press calling ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ the most pro-law enforcement, conservative film made this year (and in some cases, ever made), a disturbing trend looks like it may be developing surrounding the film’s viewers. Along with the by-this-point infamous Aurora, Colorado shooter James Holmes, now another story has emerged from Bangor, Maine, showing that yet another mentally unstable man entered a theater showing the popular film while he carried a concealed weapon.

Mercifully, no shooting occurred in this case. Indeed, the man was apprehended on his way to killing his true intended target, his former employer, and there is no evidence that the man involved wanted to shoot anyone in the theater, notwithstanding the gun he brought in with him. Nevertheless, the story is disturbing. From the Bangor Daily News:

Timothy Courtois, 49, was arrested in York about 10 a.m. Sunday after state police Trooper Phillip Alexander clocked Courtois’ Ford Mustang traveling at 112 mph on the Maine Turnpike. Other motorists had called police to report the vehicle was speeding southbound on the turnpike with its hazard lights flashing.

Inside the car, police found an AK-47 assault rifle, four handguns and several boxes of ammunition, McCausland said Monday afternoon.

Courtois' stash of weapons

Also in Courtois’ car, police found newspaper clippings about the mass shooting Friday during a showing of the same Batman movie at a Colorado movie theater, according to McCausland.

Courtois told police he had attended the Batman movie at the Cinemagic Theater in Saco on Saturday night with a loaded gun in his backpack and that he was on his way Sunday to Derry, N.H., where he planned to shoot a former employer, McCausland said.

“He didn’t speak to any intent to harm people [at the theater], but I’m sure a lot of this is going to continue to come out” as agencies including the state police, FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives continue their investigations, Maine State Police Lt. Kevin Donovan said Monday.

“We don’t know what his true intentions were” when he brought the gun to the theater, and investigators are trying to determine his reasons for doing so and for having a large collection of firearms, McCausland said.

Courtois is now behind bars on $50,000 cash bail, and even in the event that he makes bail, police have banned him from possessing alcohol, drugs, or dangerous weapons while the investigation and trial are under way. Still, even with this would-be murderer neutralized, the story raises multiple awkward questions, especially considering the film’s message runs completely counter to this kind of behavior. Perhaps Mr. Courtois walked out after one of Bane’s speeches?

Hopefully, this and other questions will be answered with more information from the media before this story vanishes off the map.

He’s driving 112 mph with his hazard lights on, and he’s on his way to shoot his former boss? Was he trying to sneak up on him? Something doesn’t add up. Was he really on his way to shoot his boss, or was he just being a smart mouth when asked why he had a weapon in his car? Or is the guy just a complete goofball?

Maybe there is some Helter Skelter subliminal stuff in “The Dark Knight Rises” movie? Personally I think; and pay attention Atheists, that Obama is the Antichrist and what we are seeing are “end times” behavior phenomenon; where weird stuff happens at the onset of a cataclysmic event of some kind; like chickens act peculiar before a strong thunder storm. Obama could very well be the Antichrist; if not ~ why would people love and support him and believe his lies as they do? The Antichrist is supposed to have the solution to all problems and people are supposed to believe even his worst of lies ~ guess who fits the profile? Barry Barack Hussein the Interceptor ~ Soretoro. The guy that just appeared out of nowhere.

@ The Blaze = YOU ARE THE MEDIA. If you don’t want a story dropped before you get the answers you want, do some investigative journalism and keep the story alive. Duh! As for this story, can you really have a case if someone says they “intended” to kill someone? I think this whole story is a little fishy, or hoaky, or contrived; whatever.

One thing I find really strange about this story after reading it on msnbc is that he hasn’t been identified as a tea party member yet. I do know he wanted to be caught though, driving 112 miles an hour with flashing hazard lights, admitting he took his gun in the movie theater and then saying he was going to kill his former employer. When he walks free I bet he won’t have to worry about another bad employer. Another unemployed person to add to the 8.2%. If this was framed for the gun control agenda it was a waste of time bc it just did more damage to the unemployment statistics. BTW, he looks like a liberal to me bc he throws that head back with his nose in the air like the campaigner-in-chief.

      I wonder myself.. very strange.
This guy wanted to get caught …speeding over a 100mph
With flashers and a orgy of evidence in the car
With a nice stash at home ..
Then telling the police his intentions on killing his boss…
when could have use picked any excuse that would have been better..
      Talk about your Manchurian Candidate..!

Although my other thought is…Being no one got killed …

Because he was running around with a sign saying HERE I AM..!!

      my first question would be..
How much money did someone pay him to pull this stunt …?
And the second question is ….who was it..?

I want to see his bank account records and look for any large amount of
money deposited in the Cayman Islands.. in his name.

      Momentum is the key…
They will make the pieces fit later to meet their agenda…

If you are trying to prove that “coincidence = causality” that one has been tried.

With over one million people having seen this movie we can try some other headlines.

The story says he had an AK47 and four handguns with him. In the photo above, I count 5-rifles and 7-handguns! I would say that is pretty sloppy reporting or a staged photo. Either way, I would like to know if this guy also had a clean records check.
Like I said before, in a Country of 300 million people, you’re never going to be able to stop all the nuts out there.
The Media and Libs are crying, “It’s the guns, it’s the guns, it’s the guns!!!” No, it’s the person, it’s the person, it’s the person! Timothy McVey used fertilizer. Should we ban that, too? Maybe we should ban kitchen knife sets from department stores…how about rope…and let’s ban politicians while we are at it…specifically U.S. Attorney Generals who sell guns to drug cartels. A gun, like a hammer or screwdriver is just a tool. Used improperly with malicious intent, yes, it can cause injury and death. So can a hammer or screwdriver or automobile.
Let’s start prosecuting criminals and speeding up the death sentence for those that take a life–if there is no doubt that James Holmes killed those people in Aurora, then convict him, sentence him and hang him by the end of August. Start putting the fear into those who would commit such acts. And for crying out loud, now that Holmes has been charged, shave his stupid head, bald and stop letting him portray his idiotic fantasy.

There are much bigger things going on though. Glass Stegall was killed by Clinton to spur the economy, It did a good job. It allowed people to make unreasonable bets with money they didnt have and maybe win on those bets and as a result grow the economy. However glass stegall was put in place to protect the American people against gamblers that were stupid, such that created the great depression. Now Bush 2 was supposed to reinstate the glass stegall act but then came 9-11 and he didnt. The gamblers became more willing to take chances and then they lost. HOWEVER, because of the fact that they had lobbiests and they were TO BIG TO FAIL, we the American public had to pick upon the tab for them loosing on a loosing bet. Has it changed? NO. We are still paying. Yes if these companies that bet on the wrong horse fail then the people loose their jobs and all hell breaks loose. Tell you what. I have bet the horses before. When I lost I lost. I stopped betting, I didnt like loosing. Glass Stegall made the betters pay for their bets. With the suspension by Clinton and the NON INTRODUCTION BY BUSH. WE THE PEOPLE PAID THE PRICE.

UH OH,,,,, WE ARE NOT DONE. LET US SAY YOU HAVE BEEN A MILLIONAIRE. but now you have lost. Is their not a vulture waiting in the wings to take over your position in life? A positinion that for them is powerfull when coupled with that which is taken from others that have failed?

This is likely set up for the leftists who will bail him, sail him and get him out and off for a price. This is to help get rid of guns so Americans will be sitting ducks for the cowards who want Americans defenseless when and if they do get their nerve to try a take over. Could be. I do not trust them at all, for they have done nothing but harp on gun control ever chance they had had to get notice. They will not waste a good tragedy or one in the works. These people are working towards a complete take over of this government and they know just like we do that criminals will Always be able to get guns as they will when they decide to act. This is extreme, but they are being judged by the hand they have dealt so far against the American Republic. They have nothing to contribute to this country and are indeed trying to destroy the very foundation thereof.

Idiots that would choose to hurt others that do not deserve it. Everyday I run into, speak with, and am subjected to people that are SO F’N STUPID that it boggles my mind how they even survive? Now I have no problem with those that need help in this world. Not everyone is born with high intelligence and we should help those that need help, but there are MANY MANY people in this world that are dangerously angry and idiotic. Whats worse many of them are promoted by television shows like Jorry Spronger and Murphy Polovich. People LOVE to cheer for the idiots, they LOVE to watch them. I like the laugh. I do not however like the inference that anyone that is of the muslim religion should be sterilized. There was a time, early in the christian religion where it was acceptable to stone your wife if you THOUGH maybe she might be cheating on you. I do NOT like the muslim religion as I percieve the hard core believers, such that honor killings or anything of the kind are acceptable. Anyone of ANY religion that truly believes that all others of other religions should be killed en mass, I AM STRONGLY AGAINST, but the statement, or ANY statement that Mecca or those that believe in it should be sterilized only purports your own lack of intelligence and the fact that you yourself should possibly be sterilized for you own obvious lack of intelligence.
